I’m gone.

Running from the only man in the world who can truly destroy me.

And my family.

My heart breaks whenever I think of everything I left behind.

And everyone.

But it had to be done. Or I’d risk their lives, too.

The only question is—can I stay gone? And if so, for how long?

Denying the King😈

Oh boy, everyone’s in a tizzy trying to locate Giselle and Dani after Carlo woke up to discover she’s gone. Will they find her in time?

A great quick read and I’m looking forward to what happens next, even if my anxiety disagrees after that ending😱

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review🙈

book 14 Sovrano crime family

Things have hit the fan in the book. Giselle’s run from Carlo and the others has ended. She is still very worried about being with them and putting their lives in danger. She pushes Carlo away hoping he will let her go so she can keep them all safe but she never tells the truth about why she left. After their biggest fight when she tried to leave again and she claimed she didn’t love him he brings a woman from his past back into their lives. What is going to happen next? Is this the end for Giselle and Carlo or is he just playing a big game with her now in order to punish her for trying to leave?

Caught!!

Giselle mostly wants to not be associated with the mafia, but also knows her ex is exceedingly dangerous, and doesn’t want to bring that danger to those she loves. No one is communicating well. Yelling and retribution may not be the answer.

I’m starting to loathe the series

I think it would be okay if this book was just the first quarter of an actual novel. It’s just really beginning to feel like this book is just one complete thought. It is just so annoying that this book is so short!! I’m never reading any more books by this author again after I complete this series.

I love the mafia stories but why can’t Giselle and Carlo figure it out??

Like Giselle does love Carlo and Carlo is inviting Stassia back into a house!

Ignoring all the tasteful drama (like give me all the tea please), the twists, the secrets, the mystery and the handsome men, there is one specific thought I want to share:
You know all those epic teenage drama series that were on TV once? Like Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries and that kind of shows? They were good with ending the episode on a cliffhanger. Reading those books feels like that.
You spend some time reading one of those books, kind of like watching an episode, and then there is a freaking cliffhanger that makes you want to continue to the next one RIGHT AWAY.

It's great.

((And staying in the TVD universe:
Now I think about it, Carlo and Stefan kind off remind me off Klaus and Elija. (Contains small spoilers) Like Klaus who is a bit obsessive and likes to force peeps he loves to stay close and is all controlling and such, AKA Carlo. And Elija who will murder everyone if he has to, or do whatever it takes to reach his goal, but if you really want your freedom or someone else, he would let you do what (or who) you want.
And to go and dive in a hole, I am now connecting very many ropes to TVD characters and I kind of love it. LOL))

I am soo glad it is too early in my household to rage at this time. I could have finished this in one sitting but wanted to stew on what has happened so far.

This installment goes off the rails but now we can see the rage Carlo has when it comes to Giselle and keeping her safe. She just doesn't think anything is safe in her life and that scares her more than anything. She just needs to communicate with Carlo about her fears but again that is not the life she wants or wanted.

Carlo can also take a step back and try and see her side of this and maybe understand her insecurities. She needs to learn to trust in him and what he can do to protect her.

I just know there will be a point these 2 can finally air everything out and move on, but they both tend to make stupid moves that just makes the ridge between them grow even bigger.

Jessa York is a QUEEN when it comes to cliffhangers and there have been plenty in this series. Once all is said and done, I hope Asher gets his books, but I think I will binge read the Sovrano series all together.

❤️Thoughts❤️

The last two books have made me beyond frustrated with Giselle and her stupid decisions.

For a girl who has lived in the mafia crime world for almost her whole life, you would think she would be able to tell that Carlos and Stephen come from a powerful family. I am getting so tired of her making assumptions and not just telling them her fears of her past since they know now and just see if they can help her. But of course, she still wants to run to save them. Ugh, she makes no sense and it's becoming annoying at this point.

Also, I do not understand how Carlos can not see that she is afraid of losing them and that she is brainwashed with fear. Also, mark my words we haven't seen the end of that Nanny.

🖤Mafia
🖤Sharing of H(but she approves it)
🖤Breeding Kink
🖤OTT MC
🖤Each book is a short story.

Carlo is the alpha male in this one more than any of the other books I have read in this series. Getting Giselle back is the only thing he and the rest of the men in her life can do. I was surprised by the role that Asher played in this book. Boy has he changed. The feelings that came out from Carlo and Giselle were interesting. One was giving their whole heart and the other was trying to convince everyone that they did not have the love they once had to share. When secrets are revealed, revenge is the only thing on the minds of the men who love Giselle and Dani. Will they be able to keep her safe?
I was prepared for a cliffhanger at the end because I know Ms. York lives to torture her readers. What more can Carlo, Giselle and Dani go through before they get their HEA? Will they be a family or will Giselle decide to give her heart to someone else?

This book had my heart racing the whole time I was devouring the pages! Giselle runs from Carlo with Dani, thinking to save their lives from Sergio. Poor Dani crying for her Dada, Giselle not seeming to have a solid plan (I had no idea if she knew where she was planning to go), but I guess she just flew by the seat of her pants when she left Sergio, and she figured that worked out well, so she'd just try it again. This girl! She frustrates me so much! Why not just talk to Carlo, Nick, and Stefan?

But that would not make the story and so with my heart in my throat, I can't believe the ending and I want to knock both Giselle's and Carlo's heads together and I am screaming at Jessa!! What are you doing to my poor heart!! I need the next book NOW!!K

This is a twisted story. This chapter in Giselle’s life gives us a little more information about her past. Still, we don’t clearly know what is Carlo’s business, but we can guess. Giselle is too cagey and not forthcoming with her secrets, so no one really knows what’s going on. We do get a glimpse of her past and a friend from that time. However, this book ends in another cliffhanger and it doesn’t seem we are close to knowing her full story. Nevertheless, the story just traps you and you keep reading and all of a sudden it’s over!

Does Giselle have a brain? Like, seriously. She’s stubborn beyond every fault possible. And now she’s destroying more than just her own world. Carlo is pushed enough to retaliate in an incredibly cruel manner, but this time? This time Giselle sort of did it to herself. Her refusal to simply open her mouth and tell complete truths is her downfall, and I think Carlo is going to shatter what’s left of her heart, then stomp on the pieces. I mean, I don’t want him to. But I could see him doing it. I’m almost afraid to find out if he does.

Denying the King is book fourteen in the Sovrano Crime Family series. It’s a twisted, why choose story that will have you in your feels and screaming at all the characters in the book. At this point I want to slap them all upside their heads. I can’t even with that cliffhanger! I wanted to throw my kindle and scream. I need the next book now!

Ugh Carlo and Giselle are driving me crazy! They are both so stubborn and untrusting of the other, playing games and making stupid choices. They both really need to get their heads on straight! Carlo really annoyed me in this one for how he treated Giselle at the end and whatever he's about to pull. Giselle needs to stop running and putting herself and Dani in danger. Bring on book 15!

"Denying the King" (The Sovrano Crime Family Book 14) by Jessa York was a great read. I liked this addition to Giselle and Carlo's story. This story was packed with romance, passion, emotion, twists, and more. I can't wait to read what happens next. I highly recommend it to all fans of romance, mafia, and series.

Well… Giselle is really trying to stand up for herself and not be part of the mafia world but she’s so broken. She’s worried about her safety… she stands up to Carlo who is truly trying to keep her and Dani safe…. I love these characters… and cannot wait to see what happens next!

What in the world is Carlo doing? Not Stassia again! I guess Giselle made him do it. I need her to act right. Dani needs her Dada. I can't wait to see what happens with Stassia back in the picture.
