It’s a great book! But, it lacks continuity. It seams like the author just forgets important information as the story progresses. For example, they make a big point of the character getting a mask to hide his face, but he already has a cloak that makes him invisible which he acquired and used extensively in the last book. Then, they never mention or use either item again for the rest of the book. Also, they make a huge point of establishing a base at the beginning of the book that’s full of characters from the last level. They go into detail about how he can go back once a day if needed and the main character is supposed to scout ahead and report back. But, after they spend a couple chapters talking about it, they never bring it up again. He just… forgets about it and never goes back to it in the two or so weeks that it takes him to finish the level. Whoopsies! This would be a better book if there was continuity. PS. I don’t consider these spoilers because they, disappointingly, never develop into the main plot.
Good book, very good series. The character development is not that deep but because of such a short book and the shorter page count some things have to get cut back. I like the MC and his two sidekick females. They make an excellent team. Please keep them throughout the rest of the series. The storyline and character introspection could be a little bit improved so that we get the motivation behind the additional female characters who are traveling with the MC. The book has very little stats no leveling increases, which I kind of miss and know being healed when the characters level up. I think that’s what this series is missing and keeping me from giving it a five star review. I will definitely read the next one in the series.
