I tried to like this book.
I got to page 37. Sorry, I don't want to read a romance between two people I do not like. Maybe if you like enemies to lovers tropes, you'll like this book better than I do.
It starts with Chip seeing someone drop a watch from a boat. She picks it up and decides to keep it. Then the boat turns around and a man demands his watch returned. She refuses. Was he rude? Yes. Is she still wrong, also yes. This devolves into name calling, which feels childish and unhelpful. I already dislike them both.
I thought the authors would then make an effort to show me these people were having an off day. Nope! I quit when Monroe makes a comment about controlling women. Gross.
I have enjoyed other books in the series, but this is not a book I want to read. They don't deserve a happily ever after unless they learn a few lessons in decency first.
