A friend of the author gave me this while I was on holiday, and I fell in love. My father lived in China at the time, and had sent me lots of books and films on Chinese mythology and culture, so parts of this felt as familiar as the sections set in a Scottish primary school. It was lovely to reread something I enjoyed so much as a child, and to see that it still holds up.
