As soon as I saw the teasers about this book dropping all over social media, I knew I had to have it once it went live, soon as it landed on my ipad I dived in and was hooked from the get go.
The chemistry between these two was off the charts, scorching hot from just one glance across a crowded room. That's all it took and Fiero had to have her, her being married was an obstacle he could bulldozer through, nothing was going to get in his way of needing her, even if he brought her, and that's exactly what he did, offering up millions of dollars just to spend the weekend with her. But a man like Fiero doesn't play by the rules and when his obsession turns into possession he'll go against everything to claim her as his forever.
The push and pull these two had going on from the get go had me loving everything about these two, I loved Valentina's fire, even though she'd been thrown into the pits of hell like a phoenix rising she became a Queen in her own kingdom by destroying those who had controlled her for so long. And don't get me started on Fiero, OMFG I became obsessed by him!! As soon as I started this, I fell under his possessive spell, he'll go to any lengths to get what he wants, some over the top others had me swooning like a schoolgirl..

It’s been a while since I’ve read one of Siobhan's books, but she does not disappoint. I love mafia romances, and this checked all my boxes. Age gap and forbidden love, yes, please! I had a great time reading this one. 😏🔥

I love it so much when the hero immediately go straight to who is she?! He immediately wants her sooooo very badly since he first saw her and her even made a move to her so fast! And literally keep saying: She’s mine. Mine. Mine 💘💘💘

When I read that first scenes on his pov I immediately smiled so big cause i know i will have fun reading this book!!!!

🚨YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
BUT UNFORTUNATELY this a dark romance heavy love story. This is not a light dark romance or not too much dark romance, this is a heavy one. HEAVY ONE. I repeat.
Before i make a long a$$ review down bellow i will firstly be front about the triggers and why i make it only 4 stars (even when i wanted so bad to be 5 stars tho tbh).
- Triggers: R*pe history from the heroine that mentioned couple of times, the heroine also been rape here and it was a detailed description about it which i was so highly annoyed about it (cause why author? didn’t you write about the heroine’s past have many man r*ped her and now you make it happened again that just so low of you tbh). The heroine have a very bad tragic past that made me so sad about her, cause as i woman i feel for her. The hero is manwhor3 and have been mentioned many times about it from his friends which is totally annoying so u have been warned. MAFIA, high on violence, killing, death, PTSD, kidnapping, forced marriage, drugs, alcohol, poisoning and little of unnecessary childish drama situations.
So that’s all the triggers ~
Things I don’t like about it and why i give it only four stars:
1. The heroine suffer a lot. A LOT. Not only mentally but emotionally and physically since she’s 18 years old😭 I mean as a woman myself i cried a lot when i read the heroine’s pov cause what she’s been through 😥😥😥 TOTALLY 100% NOT HEALTHY AT ALL. I used to read that the hero always have bad things happened or bad past, but this one is the heroine. And it was extremely hard to read 😭 So prepare yourself when you read this because the heroine’s pov is not easy one to read 😭😭
2. It has a r*pe scene and it was detailed. I mean I’m not trying to be sensitive about it but like… The heroine’s past she said she have been r*pe and force into having s3x with a lot of woman that her abused husband told her to, and she was suffering from it and still recovering from it. AND WHY MAKE IT HAPPENED AGAIN AUTHOR???! LIKE WHY! Idk but in my opinion that just not right to write it down! It’s hard enough to read the heroine’s pov sharing about her tragic past about the r*pes and now it happened again 🥲 That’s low author 💀 and tbh it’s also unnecessary!!!!
3. The hero is a manwhor3. He actually fvck someone else seven days ago when he fvcks the heroine. And also he fvcks the heroine bare without even saying about his past with her or what he did a week ago before he meet her… And the woman he have s3x with a week ago before he set his eye on the heroine is also the flight attendant in the private jet that he and the heroine was currently in. She have the audacity or the author have the audacity cause the author writes it, to sit on the hero’s lap and say how much she still wants him. Thankfully the hero kick her off from his lap and said no and really harshly push her away immediately. BUT STILL WHY ADD THIS SCENE 💀💀💀
4. The hero in the beginning was pretty arrogant about him being a ladies man and playboy and have share a woman. And he said that not only once 💀 But thankfully after he physically officially with the heroine, he stopped saying that.
5. His friends and some of his family mentioned couple of times how the hero is a playboy in the past. Like every single time he meets his friends or family or even the heroine’s friends also said the same thing. About the hero’s past being a playboy and manwhor3. WHICH IS ALSO UNNECESSARY 💀💀💀 like if it mentioned twice its okay, but more twice???! That’s a just plain stupid.
If you’re asking why i keep reading this book despite what i just write. Here’s why:
The hero’s love for the heroine…. Simple as that ❤️
His obsession, his possessiveness, his adoration, his big love for the heroine. It is seriously on another level of love ❤️
And we can read that in the beginning of the hero’s pov. Which is freakin amazing. The way he just really wants the heroine sooooo very badly like no other, the way he really set his eye and his everything for the heroine since the moment he saw her 🤍🤍🤍
The hero immediately saying MINE. MINE. MINE. And not only once, but many times he said that to her and to anyone and to himself!
The mafia scenes are good too but too brutal for my taste. Even the r4pe scenes are too dark and just disturbing to read for me as a woman 🥲
But thankfully the hero’s love and the relationship between the couple is like the light in this story ❤️❤️❤️
It’s a long road…
But the romance is worth it!

The hero is a freakin billionaire as well and that is not only because of mafia money. But he has his own business because of his intelligence ~
The hero doesn’t have a tragic past like the heroine tho. In the beginning the hero was kind of arrogant but thankfully that doesn’t last long ~
The hero’s personality is totally a strong powerful man and knows how to fight like that. And what i really love about him is that he is sooo respectful to woman. Not only the ones he slept with but like to any woman… Even though he is in the mafia business and some of his mafia friends have bad taste in woman, he never disrespect them ~ Even to the mafia friends and groups he is in, when the other crazy wives tries to seduce or flirt with him, he never ever say yes to them…
He is close with his siblings 😍
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE.
My survivor heroine! Strong woman right here and she is freakin beautiful ~ Even though her past is very tragic and very sad indeed, she is so strong seriously.
She doesn’t let her tragic past and tragic situations get to her. She’s obviously broken but she doesn’t use that to hurt people around her. She doesn’t have a bad attitude, she doesn’t always bring about her past or what happened to her and she doesn’t even cry too much about it. I mean like she didn’t let her past get into her current personality so that’s why she’s still strong and not bitter :)
Sad but not bitter…
And she is so sassy.
I love her that about her as well, despite what she went through she is definitely sassy. She doesn’t allow anyone to bring her down…. But not too much sassy and not too annoying… She’s very great on cooking as well and baking. Even the hero’s mafias friends love her baking 😍😍
‼️‼️‼️IT HAS PUSHING AWAY BUT NOT TOO MUCH AND NOT TOO ANNOYING.
Even the heroine herself doesn’t push the hero away too much which is great. Cause i thought she will push the hero away too much but nope. AND THE HERO NEVER EVER push the heroine away.
‼️‼️‼️LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.
At first the hero thought it was probably lust or hunger but after actually spending time with the heroine for the first time, he immediately knows the heroine is it for him. Like she’s the one he was looking for 😍
“I look over at her with greater appreciation. It’s a beautiful name for an even more beautiful woman. It truly suits her, and I love how it rolls fluidly off my tongue.”

The heroine was actually currently married when she meet the hero for the first time. But the next day she immediately got picked out from the hero cause they accidentally meet and the hero didn’t waste any more time with her… But eventually he have to drive her to the current husband’s house to let him know that he will have the heroine, and that husband kissed her goodbye. But after that, we don’t see the current husband anymore…
“Right now, I couldn’t give two shits if she’s married or who she’s married to.
It no longer matters because she belongs to me. With me.
I’ll annihilate anyone who stands in my way.
Mine. Mine. Mine.”
One ex boyfriend shows up from the heroine but it was only one time tho and they only meet for just like 3 minutes… And the heroine was with the hero at the time.

No mean friends.
No strippers.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS SOOOO OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE. He wants her so badly and he wanted her immediately! His obsession is sooo freakin huge for the heroine like seriously huge!
He will do anything and sacrifice anything to be with the heroine, to have the heroine and to officially be with her… His obsession is freakin master piece for the heroine. He didn’t care about her past and what she went through, HE IS ALL IN WITH THE HEROINE.
He spoiled her so much with gifts and adoration, words of affirmation, constantly pleasing her and wanting her closer to him, constantly always complements her like seriously this is all the time ❤️ HE ALWAYS MAKE HER SIT ON HIS LAP AND THIS HAPPENED ALL THE TIME THROUGHOUT THE BOOK.
He loves to take care of her physically, mentally and emotionally… He always wash her in the shower, in the bed clean her up after they doing it, making sure the heroine eat, and giving her flowers all the time, making sure the heroine have a great time and always want to spend time with her…
He willing to die for the heroine…
He always likes to carrying her around 🥺 And this happens a lot! He always watch her sleep and admiring her while she’s sleeping 🥺
THANKFULLY THE HEROINE IS THE FIRST WOMAN he ever introduced to his family and first woman to ever entered his actual house and private bedroom… First!
He immediately claimed her and when anyone in the mafia world even the bosses and president of the mafia community asked him about the heroine. He immediately say it out loud that she’s the one he wants to marry and love, no hesitation!
“She’s so perfect, and I have never craved another human as much as I crave her. If she were awake, I would eat her alive, and it would not be enough. It’d never be enough. I’m not sure I’ll ever get my fill of this woman.”
“I’m not giving her back.

The hero possessiveness and jealous scenes can be read in the beginning of the book like totally possessive mode 😍 And yes, over the top!
“I don’t want to talk about made men or politics. Not unless we’re discussing the imminent demise of the asshole currently squeezing my goddess’s curvy ass.
A low growl rips from my lips as I glare at him.”
“I ask my kitten, covering her in the jacket. It falls to her knees, and I button it in the front, but it still shows far too much of her cleavage.”
“I probably shouldn’t admit this in front of the caveman, but when I was growing up, my friends and I had mad crushes on you and your twin. Those campaigns you modeled for were—”
“Kitten, no one wants to hear this,” I growl, covering her mouth so she can’t spew more of that bullshit.” 😂
“Look at my woman again, and it’ll be the last thing you do,” Fiero threatens in a menacing tone.”
“So, quit riling me up, and keep your fucking hands off her,”

The s3x is freakin amazing.
The hero always put the heroine first and always feast on her body like always worships her body. He wants her all the time and wants to have s3x all the time 😍😍😍
We get to see that many times here and it’s always great! The hero is always careful with her and make her satisfied 😍
They also clean tho.
“If it helps, no other woman has ever shared that bed with me, and the only women who have come into this house are my sisters, my housekeeper, my mother, and my best friend’s wife. I’ve never fucked anyone without a condom before, and I wouldn’t have fucked you bare if I wasn’t clean. I’d never risk your health like that.”
“I can’t get enough of her. She tastes like heaven, and every nerve ending and tissue in my body is electrified with the need to take her and make her mine, but I meant what I said. I won’t force her.”

I love that this author also includes them with dates, like they’re going on dates on boats and motorcycles and Broadway shows. And this happens more than once 😍 The hero make sure the heroine and him have a romantic time together 💝 The hero always make time for the heroine, always wants to know everything about the heroine like literally everything! And the way they always touch each other and communicate is so freakin romantic. So of course the chemistry is magical 🍾

And no OW.
And other drama is about the enemies and themselves sometimes. But all the drama is not too much and not too annoying.
It’s just dark and brutal especially about the heroine’s past 🥲🥲🥲

Types of book that I’m looking for: SAFE, safe all the way from the beginning till the end🥵 No cheating, no unnecessary childish drama. Not too much OW DRAMA cause they are loud and annoying lol. NO to still having feelings about a ex especially wants go get back together tf no. NO to friends with benefits and still seeing other people type of sh*t. NO to hero or heroine who said i love you and have been obsessed but still likes to fvck around yeah big NO to that sh*t. NOOO to still married or still in a relationship with someone else while liking the main character, yeah they have to be single since the beginning. NOOO to a long separation and have someone else they have s3x with during the separation. NOO to too many times of separation and breaking up sh*t. NOO to toxic narcissistic characters.
I preferred the characters are loyal to the core, over the top possessive heroes since the beginning and never stops, main characters have unique jobs or talents, the hero adores and obsessed with the heroine so much, the hero fell harder for the heroine and don’t want let her go and fight for her. And most importantly EPILOGUE AND ESPECIALLY THE DECADES LATER SCENE…. HAPPY ENDING IS A MUST. Chemistry is a must too 🙏🏼

BUT UNFORTUNATELY this a dark romance heavy love story. This is not a light dark romance or not too much dark romance, this is a heavy one. HEAVY ONE. I repeat.
Before i make a long a$$ review down bellow i will firstly be front about the triggers and why i make it only 4 stars (even when i wanted so bad to be 5 stars tho tbh).
- Triggers: R*pe history from the heroine that mentioned couple of times, the heroine also been rape here and it was a detailed description about it which i was so highly annoyed about it (cause why author? didn’t you write about the heroine’s past have many man r*ped her and now you make it happened again that just so low of you tbh). The heroine have a very bad tragic past that made me so sad about her, cause as i woman i feel for her. The hero is manwhor3 and have been mentioned many times about it from his friends which is totally annoying so u have been warned. MAFIA, high on violence, killing, death, PTSD, kidnapping, forced marriage, drugs, alcohol, poisoning and little of unnecessary childish drama situations.
So that’s all the triggers ~
Things I don’t like about it and why i give it only four stars:
1. The heroine suffer a lot. A LOT. Not only mentally but emotionally and physically since she’s 18 years old😭 I mean as a woman myself i cried a lot when i read the heroine’s pov cause what she’s been through 😥😥😥 TOTALLY 100% NOT HEALTHY AT ALL. I used to read that the hero always have bad things happened or bad past, but this one is the heroine. And it was extremely hard to read 😭 So prepare yourself when you read this because the heroine’s pov is not easy one to read 😭😭
2. It has a r*pe scene and it was detailed. I mean I’m not trying to be sensitive about it but like… The heroine’s past she said she have been r*pe and force into having s3x with a lot of woman that her abused husband told her to, and she was suffering from it and still recovering from it. AND WHY MAKE IT HAPPENED AGAIN AUTHOR???! LIKE WHY! Idk but in my opinion that just not right to write it down! It’s hard enough to read the heroine’s pov sharing about her tragic past about the r*pes and now it happened again 🥲 That’s low author 💀 and tbh it’s also unnecessary!!!!
3. The hero is a manwhor3. He actually fvck someone else seven days ago when he fvcks the heroine. And also he fvcks the heroine bare without even saying about his past with her or what he did a week ago before he meet her… And the woman he have s3x with a week ago before he set his eye on the heroine is also the flight attendant in the private jet that he and the heroine was currently in. She have the audacity or the author have the audacity cause the author writes it, to sit on the hero’s lap and say how much she still wants him. Thankfully the hero kick her off from his lap and said no and really harshly push her away immediately. BUT STILL WHY ADD THIS SCENE 💀💀💀
4. The hero in the beginning was pretty arrogant about him being a ladies man and playboy and have share a woman. And he said that not only once 💀 But thankfully after he physically officially with the heroine, he stopped saying that.
5. His friends and some of his family mentioned couple of times how the hero is a playboy in the past. Like every single time he meets his friends or family or even the heroine’s friends also said the same thing. About the hero’s past being a playboy and manwhor3. WHICH IS ALSO UNNECESSARY 💀💀💀 like if it mentioned twice its okay, but more twice???! That’s a just plain stupid.
If you’re asking why i keep reading this book despite what i just write. Here’s why:
The hero’s love for the heroine…. Simple as that ❤️
His obsession, his possessiveness, his adoration, his big love for the heroine. It is seriously on another level of love ❤️
And we can read that in the beginning of the hero’s pov. Which is freakin amazing. The way he just really wants the heroine sooooo very badly like no other, the way he really set his eye and his everything for the heroine since the moment he saw her 🤍🤍🤍
The hero immediately saying MINE. MINE. MINE. And not only once, but many times he said that to her and to anyone and to himself!
The mafia scenes are good too but too brutal for my taste. Even the r4pe scenes are too dark and just disturbing to read for me as a woman 🥲
But thankfully the hero’s love and the relationship between the couple is like the light in this story ❤️❤️❤️

She doesn’t let her tragic past and tragic situations get to her. She’s obviously broken but she doesn’t use that to hurt people around her. She doesn’t have a bad attitude, she doesn’t always bring about her past or what happened to her and she doesn’t even cry too much about it. I mean like she didn’t let her past get into her current personality so that’s why she’s still strong and not bitter :)

Rape culture at its finest
Trigger warnings should be immediately after the table of contents, not buried on some website with a link that is one among many web links to other books and ads in the front pages.
That is especially true with so many of these authors being all about rape culture. I would also like to lobby for very clear language in trigger warnings: just clearly state that there are numerous rapes, and that the female lead is frequently raped, instead of using vague terms like non-consent and dubious consent, just say outright that the male lead is a douchebag that harasses and coerces a woman until she gives up sex and regularly breaks his word not to push her for more than she's comfortable with; that most of the male characters in the book are rapists, and that several will occur on the pages of this book. BTW, trigger warning for this book was wrong she's raped twice: raped by her husband as a punishment in the car and she's raped by her stepson, both on page and detailed enough to make your skin crawl; and numerable other rapes are referenced. Oh, and that conversation over the telephone just after she's raped, seriously she was just kidnapped and brutalized, blood everywhere from fighting back and the two lead characters doing cutesy talk about her getting a spanking just didn't seem right -- there was just such a huge disconnect between the way they were talking and what she'd just been through, it just didn't seem appropriate, or realistic, or enjoyable for me to read.
So, if you're one of those females who gets off on women getting raped you ought to like this book. I used to really love this author, but it seems like there has been a turning point where all of her female leads became portrayed as doormats who would forgive the male leads anything even though they did nothing to redeem themselves, and roll over and give up sex even though the men were treating them like garbage. It got to the point that I didn't trust Davis to write a book I could enjoy without getting depressed, or feeling violated, or being so frustrated with the way women were being portrayed (as the partner who has to make ALL of the concessions, forgiving men anything no matter how unforgivable -- filled with male characters that are grooming women to accept abuse and mistreatment), so I have avoided Siobhan's Davis's books for a few years and this is my first foray since 2021. Quite frankly I'm stunned at how this author has so thoroughly immersed her work in rape culture, and I can't see myself seeking out her work ever again.

DNF @ 47% I HATE DNFing books especially at almost the halfway point but I just couldn’t do it anymore 😫 it was the hardest insta love I’ve ever read and I’ve read a lot of books. Maybe it would’ve gotten better but I felt no connection to the characters and felt like their love story was pretty sure much over after only spending like 2 days together 😒 love a good obsessed mafia man but this just didn’t do it for me!

DNF at 40%. Something is super off with this book but I can’t put my finger on it. I think my tipping point scene was him seeing the whipping scars on her, them immediately getting in the shower right after and him just pushing her down to her knees and sticking his dick in her mouth. I think we’re supposed to believe that she wants it, and when we have her inner monologue, she definitely does. But outwardly to him, I feel like this poor traumatized girl is not giving him green lights and he’s just going for it because she’s wet. Sometimes this can work but like I said, she is severely traumatized. In my opinion, she needed someone to be more delicate. Not gentle per se, but delicate. The vibes are icky so I’m stopping.

Firstly I just really love insta-love and insta-lust, I know some people really dislike it but there is just something about when the H sees the h and instantly is like MINE, doesn’t look at anyone else after and makes it happen that they’ll be together that just makes me obsessed.
Fiero was down bad for Valentina the moment he laid eyes on her. He was a ‘reformed playboy’ according to him, and his past one and done ways with women were bought up a few times by those close to him who were so surprised by his devotion to the h because he’d never been like this before. So I reluctantly chose to ignore his past manwhore ways, especially since there was a big age gap between them too so it did unfortunately make sense that he would have gotten around before but he was instantly obsessed with her and nothing was going to stop him having her and loving her like she deserved.
Valentina, omg I just wanted to give her the biggest hug. The author really piled on a shit ton of trauma on the h and then went ‘you know what babe, here’s some more’ cus wtf how is she still functioning. I’d honestly jump off a cliff if I went through even a fraction of what she did. She really deserves every bit of love and attention and spoiling that Fiero wants to give her.

The H had 2 sisters Sofia (29) and Tullia (not sure of her age but younger) and it seems they were interested in the same guy who is 20, in the epilogue Sofia is seen leaving the h and H wedding with him and Tullia was in tears. So if there’s a book about this shit show I won’t be reading it.
I haven’t read much by this author because I think her books are generally too ‘unsafe’ for me but if I come across any of her books that seem safe enough for me I’ll def give them a go because she writes really well.
Firstly I just really love insta-love and insta-lust, I know some people really dislike it but there is just something about when the H sees the h and instantly is like MINE, doesn’t look at anyone else after and makes it happen that they’ll be together that just makes me obsessed.
Fiero was down bad for Valentina the moment he laid eyes on her. He was a ‘reformed playboy’ according to him, and his past one and done ways with women were bought up a few times by those close to him who were so surprised by his devotion to the h because he’d never been like this before. So I reluctantly chose to ignore his past manwhore ways, especially since there was a big age gap between them too so it did unfortunately make sense that he would have gotten around before but he was instantly obsessed with her and nothing was going to stop him having her and loving her like she deserved.
Valentina, omg I just wanted to give her the biggest hug. The author really piled on a shit ton of trauma on the h and then went ‘you know what babe, here’s some more’ cus wtf how is she still functioning. I’d honestly jump off a cliff if I went through even a fraction of what she did. She really deserves every bit of love and attention and spoiling that Fiero wants to give her.

BUT my main issues are regarding the need for better trigger warnings!
(I was thinking I might wait & see if I like the audiobook & then finish, until I got to the SA stuff)
• LOVE the premise because it’s a bit diff from the usual mafia romance tropes.
• I also LOVE the FMC cuz I felt she was overall a strong (albeit broken) character & I enjoyed her attitude & fight!
• I actually liked the MMC - some other books by the author bothered me cuz they seemed to be too descriptive on the MMC past sexual encounters & some were included (🤢) & OTT cruel alpha BS
……BUT this wasn’t that bad!
- He’s a perpetual bachelor & basically has a long history of ONS & just hooking up - but I don’t feel like it’s shoved in your face & he really only has eyes for the FMC. Very much lust at first sight & he seemed to worship her from the start (IDC if she’s married - this is fantasy & her husband was a monster)

When the author note at the beginning says something like above, it's a sign. But I still couldn't prepare myself for Fiero Maltese. This man is absolutely crazy and unhinged for his woman. She is married? He doesn't care. He would still make her his by all means necessary. And it's an easy decision because someone so sweet and sassy and resilient and loving like Valentina deserves someone so much better than her evil husband who only hurt and abused her. Not all antiheroes wear capes. Someone like Fiero comes with ruthless mind, calculated violence, sexy arrogance and irresistible sex appeal. Taking What's Mine is absolutely filthy and dirty and sinful. It is equally action packed and adrenaline filled. It's not an easy or sweet love story. It's all about blood, sex, sweat, tears and death. Enter with caution.

She was surviving by just doing What's necessary but she was also building her escape. She couldn't trust Fiero to be any different than the other mafia men she was gifted to by her husband. So Fiero had to be careful. Their chemistry was scorching hot so surrendering her body was easy. It was her broken and bruised heart that needed all the care. And oh wow..The mafia king made it happen. He is completely devoted to her. And her happiness is everything. And if it means setting his empire on fire, he would do this. Valentina deserved someone epic like Fiero after the hell she went through.

The two MC’s stole my heart, I love me a good Age-Gap/Forbidden romance but add in the Mafia and I’m all in & here for it!
Valentina’s Backstory as well as Fiero’s made me feel so many emotions, especially Valentina’s, she’s been through so much but has come out so much stronger!!
I wanted to punch her Husband in the face, and maybe somewhere else as well. I felt her hurt and pain so strongly. And then you have Fiero a Mafia Don who sets his eyes on Valentina and basically falls in love with her at first sight! Fierro won me over instantly for his care and compassion for Valentina!!
You can tell he does truly care for her, he’s willing to start a war to keep her safe, and to protect her. The Touch her and die trope is so accurate!
And you see both characters open up to each other about their pasts, emotional hurts and trauma.
This book has got it all!! Spicy scenes, emotional plot line as well as Action, And two main characters I couldn’t help falling in love with.
I think this is definitely one you need to read,and highly recommend it. Yes there is spice in most of the book. But the storyline makes up for it in so many ways!
Don’t get wrong I’ve read full on just spicy books with little to none plot, but this one had me hooked from the first chapter.

Idk what Siobhan Davis puts in her mafia romances. Crack? Because honestly, I'm addicted to each one of them.
This one continues into the Mazzone mafia world. Now it's ok to read as a stand-alone, but this world has so many characters that IMO it's great to get that background knowledge. Because our favorite past characters pop up in this story, too.
When Fiero sees Valentina, it's love at first sight. Or, at the very least, lust. He just HAS to have her. The problem is, she's already married. He doesn't let that stop him from what he wants.
What comes next is an indecent proposal. One that's going to give Fiero what he wants. Valentina out of his system. Another problem pops up. One weekend isn't going to be enough. (Which we knew.)
It gets SO wild after that. Fiero is risking it all for her. His reputation, starting a war in the mafia world. But what was just lust grows so much (and super fast).
Like all the other mafia Mazzone books, this one goes places you can't believe it goes. You cheer on Valentina after all she suffers from in the past and in this book, too. You want her happy ending. And to see her kick some much deserved ass.
I'm hoping this one is also building up for more in this world. Kids have grown up, and there's new characters to love.

This book is nothing but SA and r@pe disguised as consent. The MMC literally BOUGHT HER from her husband who is an absolute pig and keeps saying that he “saved her”. Like um no you literally bought her like cattle but ok. And then when she profusely said that she will not be having sex with him and if they do then it will not be consensual and you know what the MMC says?? He said that their chemistry is undeniable and he knows that she feels this pull too. Like yea obviously ANYONE is going to be better than her disgusting husband and his pervy son. Like come on. The MMC was absolutely no better than her husband. Like the MMC is the don so he could have done absolutely anything else to get her but he chose to pay for her. He could have won her over and been nice and attentive to her after everything she’s been through but no. Like really. Honestly this book is super confusing and honestly not even accurate as well which is just so annoying. Don’t even waste your time on this book.

Siobhan has done it again. I absolutely love this mafia serial, and each book just gets better and better.
Valentina and fiero are absolutely smoking hot. The chemistry from the get-go is off the charts, and I loved every second of it.
Let me tell you, when these made men fall, they fall hard, and fiero was no exception. From the second he played eyes on Valentina, he knew she had to be his no matter that price.
Valentina is what I love most about this series. The women are always so strong and defiant that no matter what they have been through, they don't let it define them or ruin their lives.
This book is jam-packed full of twists and turns and the tropes 🙌 forced proximity, age gap, he falls first and harder and mafia are all my kryptonite and they are weaved together to create one amazing story.
I am so happy we are getting more books set in this world, and I can't wait to read them.

So this book is honestly I'm not sure how to describe it. There's a huge disconnect between all of the characters. So this book doesn't mention any other books it's not linked to any series and it does not mention any other series in any of the descriptions but it reads like there's other books involved in the secondary characters in the story. So when I started this review I decided to go to the author's website and see if they had a reading order list or some sort of list and apparently they do and this so far is the last book (8) in the Mazzone Mafia Series. Again this is not listed anywhere on KU or on the blurb. So I'm not sure if maybe the story would read better if you knew more about the side characters.
But anyways there is a lot of rape and non-con going on in the story. The MMC (43) is from New York but is in Florida because there's issues with the mafia group running down in Florida and he is at an event where he seize the FMC (24) who has been married since she was 18 to a much older man who is abusive. His wife died young of a 'heart attack' and he has a son who was 13 when is mom died and two younger daughters who live with their grandmother in Jacksonville instead of miami. So there is a lot of abuse going on and the FMC has whipping scars on her butt and thighs. The FMC is raped in the car by her husband and there are many points in the book where the FMC talks about this associating from what is going on with her. But the MMC wants her and during this event he strikes a deal with the husband to buy her for the weekend. Stuff happens he takes her to New York for the weekend and apparently they are in love or something. The FMC multiple times tells the MMC that she does not want to be with him but then she is coerced into it or ends up doing it. Either way the whole book is pretty sketchy and it's all over the place with dialogue and communication. You don't have any real attachment to the characters and there were multiple points in the dialogue where I kept stopping and asking myself what was going on.
So this book is honestly I'm not sure how to describe it. There's a huge disconnect between all of the characters. So this book doesn't mention any other books it's not linked to any series and it does not mention any other series in any of the descriptions but it reads like there's other books involved in the secondary characters in the story. So when I started this review I decided to go to the author's website and see if they had a reading order list or some sort of list and apparently they do and this so far is the last book (8) in the Mazzone Mafia Series. Again this is not listed anywhere on KU or on the blurb. So I'm not sure if maybe the story would read better if you knew more about the side characters.

This story was full of suspense, with the stories connecting between Valentina's past and Fiero's future. As they fall instantly in love with each other, they also must work through each others demons to get the happy ever they deserve. Which helps with Fiero treats Valentina like the true queen she is, and will do what he needs to do to make sure by the end of the week - She is wearing his ring.

I could not put this book down. The mafia suspense was so good but dark. I do recommend those with trauma do read the trigger warnings. However with myself not having any triggers like the ones in this book, I thought it was written very well and what I can only imagine the real dark side of mafia is.

Taking What’s Mine is pure addictive chaos in the best way. The obsession is immediate, the chemistry is loud, and the emotional messiness keeps piling up in a way that made me fully invested. I loved how the story leans into the toxic tension without pretending it’s healthy — it’s dramatic, unhinged, and somehow still romantic.
Some twists are a little wild and a few moments made me go “okay, that escalated fast,” but honestly that’s half the fun. The payoff is satisfying, the heat is on point, and the ending wraps up the storm of feelings nicely.

I know I say this all the time, but it's because it's always so true. Omg, I could not wait to dive into this book. Siobhan Davis has me wanting to just sit and read her books all day long and forget about my other responsibilities. As soon as I started, I could not put it down. i was sucked right in from page 1. I don't know how you do it, but every time I read one of your books, I feel like I'm right there living what I am reading and asking for more. You outdid yourself. This book was amazing.
When fiero first comes up with his plan to get time with Valentina, i want to slap him silly like what an a**. Valentina finally sees a way out of the life she never wanted but was forced into. The question is, now will she be able to do it, or will she take a leap of faith and trust Fiero and the promises he is making her. Will she take a chance on him on love?

Siobhan delivers another intense, suspenseful & steamy mafia romance.
Ok - that statement truly isn't even close to what Siobhan has given her readers. Taking What's Mine was explosive - in so many ways. My heart was pounding through the entirety of this book and for so many reasons.
Taking What's Mine is a standalone with an inter-connected series. However, I HIGHLY recommend these books in order to get the full, overall understanding of the inner workings of the mafia family structure and how all the families are intertwined.
This book is fast-paced and Siobhan holds nothing back, as is her usual MO with her writing. Taking What's Mine is riddled with alot of action, extremely intense scenes, some really HAWT and steamy scenes (Fiero backs up his words and then some - I will obey him in and out of the bedroom). Sorry - got sidetracked. PHEW!!
One of my biggest reasons for loving and being a huge fan of Siobhan's is how realistic her stories and characters. She does not sugarcoat their mannerisms, their actions or who these men are. They are in the mafia and even when a women may become their world, their duty still lies with Mafia.
Siobhan has this amazing capability to keep readers enthralled with all the action and suspense happening in the book but also blending the romance aspect into the storyline without taking away from either one.

My God, the way I loved this book. Honestly, I don't know what I was expecting but this went beyond my wildest imagination.
I loved Fiero. The way he wanted Valentina from the first moment he saw and did everything he could to be with her. He knew they were meant to be and nothing would stop him from having her. He was the filthiest in the bedroom but ourside of it? He was the biggest teddy bear (for her only). Seeing the way he treated her and loved her warmed my heart.
I loved Valentina. What she went through? My God, she was strong and a survivor. She deserved the freaking world and I'm so glad Fiero gave it to her. She was herself again with him and seeing her opening up to him was fantastic. It was hard for her but she trusted him and finally let herself love him.
He saved her and in the end she saved herself.

This author has done it again! I didn’t know how she was going to write a male even more perfect than the ones for the Accardi twins, but she did it.
Fiero DiPietro is the quintessential male character. Seriously. He is protective and it’s clear he takes care of anyone he loves.
Valentina is a strong woman who has endured the most painful of things. Nurture has made her unwilling to trust anyone.
When Fiero sees Valentina, he becomes focused on one thing: making her his. However, there may be a thing or two standing in his way. However, Fiero never backs down from a challenge, and he won’t start now.
What follows is this intense love story that is filled with hotness, danger, and growth.
It’s another must read by this author.

Another amazing book by Siobhan Davis.

I loved Fiero and Valentina’s story so much ! I have been in the biggest reading slump and leave it to Siobhan Davis writing to pull me out! These two characters chemistry was off the charts the angst was so good all the push and pull between them had me intrigued from the get go the drama was delicious and the sexy times were super hot this is another must read done by Mrs. Davis and I am so glad I was here for it!
