Three women and one man put themselves up for auction in a high-stakes game of marriage, money, and mayhem. The spice is high, the characters intense, and the plot will keep you guessing until the bitter end. This is the filthy, gritty, angsty soap opera you never knew you needed. Welcome to The Marriage Auction.
Meet the candidates:
Maia Rhodes – A twenty-four-year-old pickpocket with a tragic past and one Do whatever it takes to secure enough money to save her family from the devil and his spawn back home…even marry a stranger.

I read the first book of The Marriage Auction and really enjoyed it so was excited for another season and new characters. As with the first round, this is an incredibly well-written book and a whole lot of fun. There are four new couples, and each character brings something new to the table. This story, just like the first is told through their different perspectives, and occasionally their partner or prospective partner as well. I loved the addition of a male character in this season, Memphis, he was fantastic. I can’t wait to read more about him and find out what Ms. Carlan has in store for him. Out of the four characters I think that my favorite was Summer because she has a very unorthodox upbringing and she doesn’t need a man to prop her up. She has very strong female vibes going on and I want to read more about her in the upcoming books.
This book releases July 16 and don’t worry! The entire season is going to release on that day so once you finish one book you can pick the next one right up and keep going! Genius right (I think so) 😊
Thank you to @getredprbooks the author @audreycarlan and the publisher @bbpress_1001darknights for this gorgeous book. All thoughts are my own.
There was a lot going on, several characters to get to know and keep track of but not overwhelming so. The author drew me in from the beginning and I liked how we met each character. They were realistic and I liked them all, although some are still a little mysterious.
A new to me author thanks to Kindle unlimited and an audiobook, which are quickly becoming my new favorite medium .. audiobooks, that is. I like when there are different voices for different characters or if the narrator is so talented, they can switch accents seemingly at will.
I hope we learn more about these characters in other books.
listened to the audiobook, found it to be very entertaining actually and enjoyed the concept, i didn’t really care for the spice or feel it was needed in the book tho
Whether by circumstance, destiny, fate, or dumb luck, our couples unofficially meet each other before the auction, with mixed reactions.
At first glance, this season seems to be promising the following: a solid, passionate black couple, a couple where opposites attract, one with an age gap, and a second-chance romance set on revenge.
Two cast members we met in season one—Memphis and Jack—are back for their chances of happily ever after. I am most excited about their adventures.
Madam Alana bends a few rules, which nearly leads to disastrous results, but it's for the good of everyone involved. Of course, these risks will likely pay off, and seeing how will be interesting. Although one of those rules involved the age gap couple, I do not like that trope. What can a man see in a woman who is only ten years older than his child? It's time to find out.
I won this book off of Goodreads! It’s a continuation of The Marriage Auction 1 series. We follow four more couples just like series 1 with alternating points of view. I can’t wait for the next 3 books in this series!!

“Were you saving this seat for someone?” His voice was low and deep, reminiscent of my mother’s favorite actor, Mr. Morgan Freeman—the man, the legend.
“Girl, hook a sister up! Buds and booze! It’s a perfect match!” I started to dance in my chair, getting even more enthusiastic about the idea now that I’d chatted with these two ladies about it.
“I am soooooo down with this plan. If all I have to do is show up, and someone else gets to make me look worthy of three million dollars, I’ll be living my best life.” I stood up and dashed over to Alana, pulling her into a hug.
Just because someone had money didn’t mean they had it all. Frankly, I knew more rich people who were unhappy than people who lived paycheck to paycheck. The latter individuals knew that money wasn’t the source of happiness. The former continued to try and force it to be, as if they could get more and more and eventually reach the highest level of bliss possible, only to find the top was lonely as fuck. It didn’t mean jack if you didn’t have anyone to share it with. At least that had been my experience.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💍🤵🏿♂️👰🏽♂️👰♀️👰🇺🇲🇳🇴
My thoughts: Where to begin, I don't know anyone who thinks Morgan Freeman's voice, or anything else, is sexy, not even my grandma. This story mixed up the format of the previous season, but with each couple meeting before the auction, it became repetitive. Gio sounds like a carbon copy of the English brother from the last season who liked it rough but also wiped with a damp cloth after sex. I was hoping it wouldn't be ab libs of the first series, but there are already hints of a childhood full of trauma and assault and Dallas-style soap opera drama.
Recommend to others: Sure, this is a quick read full of drama, sex, and eventually violence if it follows the same path as the first series.

The Marriage Auction 2 by Audrey Carlan My rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this one! I loved how it had multiple narrators & many characters. It did take me some time to get familiar with the characters as there were so many but going into book 2 I can’t wait for the character development and the relationships between the characters to grow!
Listening to a spicy book on audio is sometimes a little cringey for me which is why I couldn’t give this a 5 star rating. Some of the terms used just made me uncomfortable and maybe were a little too much for my personal preference?
Overall I would definitely recommend this one and can’t wait to move on to audiobook #2 in the series!
This new season brings a brand new group of candidates up for auction. I was immediately sucked back into this soap opera world of money and marriage. It’s not necessary to read the previous season, each season is a standalone but it is necessary to read all 4 books in this season. This does end in a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
In this season, we really get to more of the characters’ backgrounds and not just the candidates, we also get to know the bidders before the auction takes place. This is a multiple-POV read, with 4 couple pairings and 8 characters. Each character is unique and has their own personality. It was easy to tell everyone apart. I loved the way each pairing had a previous connection and meet-up.
There is drama, spice, romance, angst, chaos, banter, alpha, sass and so many of my favorite tropes - enemies-to-lovers, age gap, single dad, grumpy sunshine, and forced proximity.
I was provided a beautiful arc of this book and this is my honest review.
Wow! I was a fan of the first season… but the Audrey’s growth as a writer in this new season is fabulous.
You can really feel the cohesiveness of this new season. The switching from pov’s is much smoother.
We have new couples with new drama! If you’re a fan of the bachelor, with a flare of telenova… I have some good news, this series is it!
So far I feel like it’s not a must to have read season one first, but there are tie ins.
This being the first book in this season, the focus is meeting the new main characters and learning more about a few we briefly met in season 1. The characters personalities and stories have me hooked and wanting more.
I’m having so much fun and can wait to watch how all these couples navigate their journeys.
5 star Review The Marriage Auction (Season 2, Volume 1) by Audrey Carlan
When I read the blurb for this series, I just had to read it as I was intrigued. There was so much going on in this book that I had trouble putting it down when real life got in my way.
Each person has a different reason for entering into the Marriage Auction and that is what made this so entertaining. The characters were easy to relate to and their stories intriguing, There was a good balance of romance and heat with strong determined women who have goals and are focused on seeing them achieved, no mater the cost.
This was well written and I cannot wait for more in the series.
Okay, I need to say that I don’t really like Summer’s family, I think that they’re too much of a stereotype and I don’t particularly like that, Maia…. She has a difficult background and I like that, I hope that in the next book we get to see more of her, Julianne…. Don’t get me started with her story, everything was fine and then Bianca fucking bitch comes out of the fucking he’ll herself with the “ I’m pregnant and I think I’d your baby” bitch please and the rest I didn’t feel as connected as the couples in the first season, but let’s see more about out in the other books
Ooh my goodness! I didn’t know it was possible to love even more characters after reading the beauty of TMA Season 1. But holy moly. Fasten your seatbelts friends because Audrey Carlan is taking us readers for a thrilling adventure! I can’t decide which pairing I love more! I love how Audrey is so descriptive with her writing and scenery I swear it’s like I’m actually there in person. The character building is another work of art. I am so glad I have three more books to go because I don’t want TMA Season 2 to end. It’s a good thing I don’t require a lot of sleep because after the last few sentences I read of Book 1, I must immediately begin Book 2. Definitely don’t hesitate to buy this book. You are in for a treat!
I really enjoyed this book! I liked the different story lines. Even though their are a lot of POVS you can follow along with the story easily. I would love a separate book on summer! I really enjoyed her character and her family! They are very interesting and very spunky! I’m hoping in the future we get a spin off with summer and her sister!
I am loving this series. I feel I can’t judge each book like I normally do because the story is ongoing. What I can say is so far I am loving the characters and the backgrounds of them. I highly suggest checking this series out but start with book 1 (4 books in total). This is like a soap opera written in the pages of a book filled with drama, a little mystery and definitely spice!!
First off I love that they kept characters from the first book series. It made me more excited to dive in. Just like the last set of books it followed a few sets of different characters and the relationships but keeps it in a way that doesn’t get confusing which I appreciate.
Like a reality dating show in writing. No games, just each perspective of those involved. After reading the first series, I enjoyed how Alana is well connected with the candidates in this one. Once you read one book, you’re flying through the whole series!
The Marriage Auction 2 book one by Audreay Carlan was AMAZING!
Naomi and Memphis sucked me right into this books but Summer and Jack and Gio and Julianne have kept me there! This is the first book in a 4 part series about 4 different couples that have found eachother through the marriage auction.
I really enjoyed all 4 stories and cant wait to see what is next for them all!
I really didn’t think the author could make the second auction series as good as the first, and I stand corrected!! I freaking LOOOVED these as much as the first auction! I want more!! Please, please, please give us endless auctions!!!♥️♥️♥️
It is no secret that this series by Audrey Carlan is one of my favorites. I devoured the first season of this book series, and I have been chomping at the bit to get more within this world. I love the way this author writes her books, I absolutely cannot get enough of the premise of this series, and I have just fallen so completely in love with all of the characters in this world. So the idea of getting more and finding new couples to fall in love with with some thing I truly could not wait for!
What I got in this first part of the second season of this series was absolute perfection. It was romantic and swoony and spicy and just incredible. I am already falling in love with all of these couples and I need everything with them across this season. I love that this author makes all of her characters so distinctive and remarkable. She then gives you so many different dynamics with all of her characters and getting to see them pair up, and getting to see them start the foundation of their relationships and their love stories is truly everything. Right from the start I could feel the connection of all of these characters with their significant others, as well as with each other. I love how I could feel that in every way possible from the very start. It just shows what this author creates through her words that I got all of that.
I truly could not have asked for more from this first installment of this new season of this series that I love so much. I love each of these couples and characters. I am loving getting to see them all find their start, and I am already in love with the connections they’re building. There’s just something very special about each and every one of them and the way they feel for each other, the way they are already so connected and protective of each other, and the way that they just feel meant to be. I love it so much and I am just loving getting to see the relationship start to build.
I cannot wait to get back into this world and get everything with these couples. I want and need all of them to find their happily ever afters. They already feel so well matched and the way that Madame Alana and every character of this world does what they do best to find what’s right is truly everything. I am loving the feel of this new season and I am already addicted. I have no doubt I will be binge reading this entire series so I can get everything with these couples. There is something truly special about what Audrey Carlan creates in this world and I can’t get enough. I am addicted and I am so ready to see what every new chapter in the story will bring each of these characters.
I absolutely love how this author just pairs of these couples in a way that is everything. She has every trope your heart could desire and she pairs these couples up in a way that just feel so meant to be. There’s angst and tension but so much connection and longing and fire too. There’s just something so right about each of the couples she creates in this world and you feel that from the very first pages of their stories. That completely invests you and what you’re reading and it has you desperate to see these characters feel and share everything they do.
I know that I can’t wait to see what all of the ups and downs will bring these characters as they fall hopelessly and fiercely in love with one another. You can already feel the makings of those love stories from the very first moments these characters meet, and it is enchanting to say the least. There is just such a spark and such a fire that is truly incredible to experience in this world and I can’t get enough.
This series is full of romance, mystery and a little bit of suspense, a whole lot of heart and some serious feels. This first installment of this new season has already stolen my heart, and I have no doubt that I will continue to love every book and every moment with these characters. I already love them all, and I already need everything with each of them, and I cannot wait to see what this author has in store for them! This series is fun, exciting, and thrilling in every way, and it has the best spicy romance love stories that I have read. I’d truly cannot wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for these characters. My heart and my body are ready for it all!
Audrey Carlan does it again! The Marriage Auction 2 is a testament to her talent for weaving captivating stories that keep readers hooked from beginning to end. I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy through a @goodreads contest, thanks to @goodreads , @1001darknights_blueboxpress, and @audreycarlan herself.
The story follows the intertwining lives of several characters who find themselves drawn into the high-stakes world of the marriage auction. Carlan expertly crafts each character. The protagonists, with their distinct backgrounds and motivations, bring a rich diversity to the narrative.
One of the standout aspects of this novel is Carlan’s ability to create multi-dimensional characters. The chemistry between the characters, especially the couples formed through the auction, is palpable, making their relationships one of the highlights of the book. Their personal journeys, filled with emotional depth, keep the reader invested in their outcomes.
The plot is engaging and well-paced. Carlan’s writing style is as vibrant and compelling as ever, making it easy to immerse yourself in the world she creates. Whether it’s the detailed settings or the emotional intensity of the characters’ experiences, every element of the story is meticulously crafted.
Overall, The Marriage Auction 2 is another hit from Audrey Carlan. If you enjoyed her previous works, you’re sure to love this one. Highly recommended for fans of romance and engaging storytelling.
TMA is back with a BANG baby! As a big fan of season one I have impatiently been awaiting season 2. I went in with all the hopes as a big fan of Audrey and was as always not disappointed one bit. We get some familiar faces from season one that TMA fans will be SO excited to see, and even more diverse representation in the auction pool and bidders this season. There’s men and women up for auction this season, POC bidders and entrants, mental health rep, and our Queen Miss Alana is also of course back too. I loved the switch up with genders in the bidders this season because it was really fun finally seeing a woman bidder. We are given anxiety rep that I really related to and I loved how different all the new characters were this go round. As a girl from the Emerald Triangle myself I was so excited to see someone rep my area! I can’t wait to watch everyone’s journey play out in the next few books.
Every time I read TMA I am fully invested in the characters in their first chapter. Audrey has a great way of giving you the set up stakes with the right amount of mystery and intrigue. She’s so good at letting you know who the character is in a way that feels really natural, while giving you a really thorough understanding of them and what makes them tick without feeling like an info dump. It’s easy to become endeared to them and you can’t help but want them to find love. This was absolutely the case here as it was for me in season one, you feel like you know and love them so fast which works well with the pacing of the auction process itself. You can’t help but mentally play matchmaker which is half the fun!
I want to make it clear that the biggest overarching theme in the auction itself is consent, and safety. It’s one of the reasons I love these books because Audrey takes the time to really show what true consent looks like and it allows you as a reader to fully let go and go along for the ride. For someone like myself these themes are a big draw for me as a reader and I love the emphasis on safety at every turn.
Book one will have you hooked and dying to know what happens next so make sure you have the next book handy! Book 1 gets you through the first quarter of the story for all of the characters so please note this is a 4 part book series being released all at once and you need to read them all for the full story. This is a SPICY spicy read, and I always suggest people read the CW/TW prior to reading. However let me be clear, it is a CONSENSUAL marriage auction set up between consenting adults in full awareness and in a very safe setting.
Narration: I really loved all of the narrators minus one. Seriously the whole cast was fantastic and I loved having a narrator per character, what a fantastic choice here where there’s so many characters to remember. It really helps make it very easy to distinguish them all from each other and keep their stories straight. However the voice actor for Jack was a really struggle for me when it comes to the accent, I know this character from the previous book but the accent ranges from sounding French to Scottish to Finnish? It was a bit confusing at times and threw me off from connecting the character from last season to this one with this new narrator. However I don’t have a single complaint about any of the other I believe 7 narrators, they truly were an absolute readers delight and I will definitely enjoy rereading with audio this fantastic!
Thank you so much Brilliance audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This serial makes up four complete novels. Written in first person from multiple POV, all receive HEAs at the end of book 4. The story develops as the candidates and the bidders are introduced in book one. Four couples and Madam Alana’s ties to them are the focus of the series. Couple one: Memphis Taylor is a golden retriever hero who falls fast and hard for his bidder, Naomi. She is a complete boss babe, multi-millionaire. There is a focus on family in their story as they overcome obstacles on the way to being together forever. I loved how Memphis dotes on Naomi. I loved how Naomi sees Memphis and his family for the good people they are despite their disparate backgrounds. I loved their heat and the care they showed each other. Couple 2: Maia and Rhodes are drawn together as an unlikely couple. Maia has a tragic past and Rhodes is immediately protective of her because of her sad eyes. Though they have an age gap, it is never an issue because Maia has lived more life in her short 24 years than most. They have many challenges to overcome on the way to their happy ending. They too have a focus on family in their story. I love the relationship Maia builds with Rhodes’ daughter, Emily. I love the way Rhodes helps Maia get her family back. They are hot together and I adore that they are always on the same page once they get started. Couple 3: Jack and Summer are definitely in the opposites-attract category. She brings sunshine into his life like he never thought possible. Jack has lived a life with loss. He experiences more in this story, yet Summer stands with him all the way. They formed a beautiful relationship together and it made me cry and smile. Family is important to Summer, and it is all Jack ever wanted. Over the course of their story the realize their dream of a big, blended blood/found family. I adored Summer’s easy way of being. It was perfect for Jack. Couple 4: Julieanne and Giovanni have known each other their whole lives. When Madam Alana and the auction bring them together (finally), they start off a little rocky. It doesn’t take long for them to realize that together they can survive anything. Their story has loads of devastation that was handled carefully by the author. Their love was already there, the auction just allowed them to realize it. Madam Alana and Christophe play a large role in this series. Readers will gain the most by reading Madam Alana’s book before this series. Her past intertwines with the future of some of these couples in a way that was unexpected and full of suspense. I loved seeing her with Christophe as they navigate the challenges and danger they encounter in this story. I adored seeing the loving relationships she built with the auction participants. This serial was full of suspense, danger, loss, hot times, love, and family. Beautifully written, I couldn’t put it down. Originally published on the Kindle Vella platform, there were hints of a continuation of more books in this world. Now that Kindle Vella has announced it will be ending, the author plans to take a break and may or may not continue with more stories in this world. I am not a serial reader and I took advantage of the full novels once they were in kindle unlimited. I am hopeful that the author does continue with more stories. I would love to see both Autumn and Diego get their HEAs. If she does not, then I will try to imagine a HEA for them in my mind.
The Marriage Auction, series 2, is underway, and this time Memphis Taylor, a former future NFL athlete gets his chance. Memphis was introduced in the last series; his loyalty shone from foregoing the first auction to help a friend and his love of family being the reason he has been willing to put himself up for auction in the first place.
The other beautiful people up for auction are three women: Julianne Myers, Summer Belanger, and Maia Fields.
THE COUPLES: Julianne Myers and Giovanni Falco – Julianne and Giovanni were raised together, their families having built big business together. Unfortunately, both their parents were killed, and Giovanni's upcoming marriage is derailed by his best friend, Julianne's brother, being caught shagging Giovanni's fiancée!
Julianne's and Gio's story is emblematic of the trope of this whole series, a raunchy unscrupulous, and twisty-turny soap opera. Madam Alana is godmother to Julianne and decides, with prompting from Julianne, to meddle, matching Gio and Julianne together, a match that challenges the people who have wronged them both and sets off a series of events that shifts their journeys with each other and what they end up meaning to each other.
I like Julianne and Gio, but it remains to be seen if their story will be top.
The story that has got me the most tickled is the romance between... Memphis Taylor and Naomi Shaw –Memphis needs the marriage auction money so that he can provide for his five sisters, his parents (his father disabled), and his beloved granny. He meets Naomi before the auction and kind of laments that he has already decided to give himself to an unknown female millionaire buyer. Ironically, lo and behold, Naomi is from the hidden 1% filthy rich elite. She has dated by telling men she is a jewelry designer, which is true, but it is also true that her family's wealth come from more than jewelry and Naomi has her own business, in rare jewels herself. Dating men and trying to find someone to settle has been unsuccessful, so it is her last resort to go ahead and try the auction, the reasoning being, being exactly what she wants in a husband, even if just for three years. Seeing the delicious Memphis Taylor again, the man she had a spark with, seems to good to be true, but she pounces and wins his bid anyway.
Memphis and Naomi really have me in a chokehold for now. They may not be my most favorite couple (that title belongs to Maia and Rhodes), but they are unique being the only black couple in this series, which tries to feature diversity in backgrounds, and they've made me read romance with a black couple though I tend to gravitate to BWWM, interracial couples, or romances with couples that are the usual -white- or racially ambiguous. Romance with black couples tend to be ladled with dialect and stereotypes that make me roll my eyes. However, I know there's some good ones out there and maybe after reading this soapy one with Naomi and Memphis, I can go on another binge of the something else, preferably Kennedy Ryan's Skyland series: , , and Summer Belanger and Jack Larsen – Summer and her family have a Californian cannabis farm; she and her parents and sister are...eccentric. Jack Larsen, a character who was introduced in the previous series, a business partner to Erik Johanssen (from Series 1 couple Erik and Savannah), may not know what he is getting himself into. Jack is straight-laced and self-made, while Summer is flowery, Earth crystaled, and green thumbed. They are opposites in many ways but they both value being self-made, hard work and family.
This couple is not the most intriguing to me, and they do come with the most humor, offering the series a bit of comic relief.
Maia Fields and Rhodes Davenport– my favorite couple so far – Maia has done whatever it takes to survive, stealing and deceiving people. She meets Rhodes while devising one of her schemes. and Rhodes is no pushover. However, Maia is the one who makes the shift and decides to take a risk, and through her mysterious and fateful connection to Madam Alana, Maia is paired with Rhodes, a man she had tried to take advantage of and a man who is a single dad and different than any other man she has met before.
Maia and Rhodes are probably my favorite so far because, again, the protector hero is my jam, and Maia is definitely a damsel in distress. Hopefully, their story ends up better than Faith and Joel's of series 1.
This book is mainly the introduction of the players in this season of the Marriage Auction:
Memphis/Naomi - Memphis was in the first season but left the auction to help Jade when she had her meltdown. He is an football player but injury forced him out of his dream to be a major player. He joins the auction so he can secure the funds to help put his sisters through college and help his parents. Naomi is an heiress to a diamond jewelry company. Despite having a place in her dad's company she decided to create her own business and designs high end jewelry. She was recently dumped and is tired of the dating scene and trying to find a real connection. Honestly, these 2 are my least favorite couple of this season.
Maia/Rhodes - Rhodes is 38 with a 13 y/o daughter. His ex-wife is a free-spirit that falls in and out of love very quickly. She isn't interested in their daughter. Rhodes is jaded when it comes to relationships. He is family with Alana. Maia is a 24 y/o homeless pickpocket. She attempted to rob Madame Alana when she was 19 but was caught. Alana has been like a godmother to Maia for years. Maia runs into Rhodes while pickpocketing at the airport. She steals his wallet but only takes the cash and returns everything else. She's tired of the life and contacts Alana to join the auction and get out of her current lifestyle. Rhodes wasn't planning on entering the auction but attended the auction. When he saw Maia on the stage and another bidder making crude comments he ends up buying her only to find out that Madame Alana had orchestrated it all. She wants to see Rhodes happy and moving forward in his life.
Summer/Jack - We first met Jack in Season 1. He was orphaned as a child and ended up at a boys school when he was 10 where he met and became best friends with Erik (season 1 married Savannah) He is CEO of the largest brewing company in the world. He saw how happy Erik was with Savannah and wanted to join the auction to find his own love of his life. Summer cracks me up. She is already wealthy but joined the auction so she find a partner that could help her become a better business owner. Her family owns a marijuana farm. Her family is the quirkiest people. Her mom is a witch and does tarot. These 2 couldn't be any more different and I can't wait to see them try to navigate their relationship.
Julianne/Giovanni. Their parents were best friends and business owners. After dying in a plane crash their lives go haywire. Giovanni was engaged but his fiancée breaks off their engagement to run off with Julianne's brother. Heartbroken at the loss of his parents and fiancée, Giovanni runs off and is MIA. Julianne is a VP in the company and passionate about the business. After her parents death, her brother and his new bride (Gio's ex) push Julianne out of the family business. She is contesting the will that was changed 2 weeks prior to her parents' death which wrote her out of her ownership in the company. While it is being contested, Julianne joins the marriage auction to find a wealthy husband that she can use the $$$ from the auction to start her revenge and attempting to get her company back. Madame Alana is her Godmother and agrees to the auction but intervenes to bring Giovanni in knowing about their history together.
It's great that Audrey Carlan released the Marriage Auction 2 series as a complete book set, allowing us to purchase and read them consecutively. I enjoyed Marriage Auction One on Kindle Vella and continued with the series when Marriage Auction 2 was available on Amazon Kindle, just like the first. I chose to pause reading the series in episodic form on Kindle and waited for its release as a full book on Amazon. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to dive into the next story right after finishing the first book.
I will introduce the participants and share a bit about them. The first pair is Memphis and Naomi. Memphis Taylor was set to participate in the first season of the Marriage Auction, but withdrew to aid his friend Jade, who was in a state of panic. Jade is now under Madame Alana's mentorship and is not eager to re-enter the auction. Memphis, the sole male participant, joins to support his family. Naomi, who ultimately wins him over from the other affluent women in the auction, turns out to be his ideal match. They met in a bar the day before and formed a connection. She shared the story of the man who recently broke her heart, and he spoke of his family in Atlanta. Memphis, a former football player, had his dreams of supporting his sisters, parents, and grandmother dashed by a career-ending injury. Next are Julianne Myers and Giovanni Falco, whose parents were close friends and business partners until they perished together in a plane crash. Julianne and Gio grew up together, and despite her brother Brenden's warnings, Gio couldn't resist his feelings for her as they grew older. Then we have Maia and Rhodes. Maia has been independent since she was thirteen, and her reasons for leaving home are yet to be revealed. She pickpockets Rhodes at the airport as he arrives from California to Las Vegas, and they later cross paths at the auction. Rhodes wins a bid for Maia, and she agrees to be his wife for three years. Despite her reservations about men and their intentions, she places her trust in Madame Alana, who assures her that Rhodes is a good match. Lastly, there's Jack Larsen and Summer Belanger, the epitome of 'opposites attracts.' Jack heads the largest brewing company globally, while Summer and her father are pioneering a startup in the cannabis industry. Their unfolding story is one to watch. Love this series and can't wait to read the other books in this series.
Audrey has done it again! I didn’t think she could top The Marriage Auction I, but I loved these characters so much!
This book was a bit different in the respect that all these couples had either met and/or knew each other prior to the auction. The attraction was there ahead of time, which made the auction and first meet up afterwards much more exciting.
Naomi / Memphis – these two grabbed me from the first introduction. They met at a bar and were intensely attracted at first sight. Memphis is in the auction to earn money to help his family. Naomi is a wealthy jewelry designer looking for someone to love her for herself and not her money. Upon finding out who bid on him, Memphis immediately drops down on one knee and presents Naomi with an engagement ring.
Jack / Summer – Jack, who is the wealthy CEO of the world’s most successful alcoholic beverage company is unsure of what he is looking for. (We met his best friend and business partner Erik in the Marriage Auction I). Summer is wealthy business owner whose family runs the nation’s largest cannabis farm. She is looking for guidance in the business world. They met in a stuck elevator where she gave him a bogus phone number and name.
Rhodes / Maia – Rhodes is a wealthy architect who built a home for Madam Alana and Christophe, as well as a hotel for Joel and Faith from Marriage Auction I. Maia is down on her luck and stole Rhodes wallet at the airport. Rhodes has a teenage daughter Emily. After the auction Alana and Christophe take Emily to France to Rhodes and Maia have time together. Alana receives a threatening message.
Giovanni / Julianne – childhood friends / one-time lovers, whose families were in business together. Their parents were killed in a plane crash and the family company was stolen from Julianne by her brother Brenden and Giovani’s ex-fiancé Bianca. They get married immediately while in Vegas, where he presents her with his grandmother’s 8 ct. blue diamond ring. Book 1 ends with a surprise twist in the form of a text from Gio’s ex-fiancé.
Favorite Quote from this book: Madam Alana “May your destiny lead you down the right path.”
