Excuse meeeee.... this book had no business being this good! But I's so glad it was! I loved the story and characters. Vivian and Phoenix are fantastic! They first meet in college and there's something that happens. Fast forward ten years and Viv is now a field sports broadcaster and Phoenix plays baseball as a pro pitcher. She still despises him for what occurred all those years ago and he tries to fix things between them. As the story progresses, you see the effort he puts in to trying to win her over. I loved how independent Viv was and it takes Phoenix some time to get through the walls she has built. I absolutely adored their dynamic and how their story played out. The story, the characters, the tropes, and spice is chef's kiss.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review. Thank you, Ryan Marie, for making a homerun of a book!

Phoenix is absolutely pure filth. 👏🏻IM HERE FOR IT👏🏻. God damn he was perfect. As Gabby would say “Slut for Phoenix”. The way he was so sweet. Then the bedroom door closed and OMG the things that came out 🥵🚨☠️. He knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it. How he spoke to Vivian and treated her was exactly what she needed. I couldn’t get enough of it. Phoenix showed her what she needed and what could handle.
Oh Vivian. Vivian you snarky ass spicy bitch. I LOVE YOU. She was absolutely hilarious and so perfect. (Sounds like someone I know) She knew when to put the charm on and holding her feeling close. Her past made her what she is now and that wall will start to crumble. Vivian will always still be snarky but now add in some sweetness and vulnerability.
This book had me laughing tears so much through the book. Then BAM. Ryan got you in the feels. That is her talent. Making you cry your eyes out. But of course she puts you back together again. Ryan makes up for it whole heartedly in the end.

Vivian and Phoenix met when they were younger, but after Nix was caught talking sh!t about Viv, she vowed to never let another person treat her that way. Let's just say-- homegirl delivered on her promise. That is until Phoenix walks back into her life and messes with her perfectly laid plans.
We love a confident, dirty talking hero. The way he claimed Vivian-- yes please 🥵 But more than that, he took care of her in all the little ways too. The ways you don't notice missing from your life until you actually experience it. That man 🤌🏻
I also loved getting to know Vivian more and watching her learn to trust a man again-- the same man that changed her life all those years ago.
Without spoiling anything-- there is CRAWLING + KNEELING. And it is so freaking delicious.

Vivian is a fierce and sassy woman. She may be short but she is mighty! I love the banter between her and her friends, absolutely perfection! I would kill to have friends like C3V. Her past made her into this snarky woman who takes no for an answer, but her walls start to fall away when Phoenix comes back into her life.
Phoenix. Oh Phoenix!!! He’s possessive and dominant, especially in the bedroom 😉 The things that comes out of Phoenix’s mouth is 🔥🥵 He knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it. Vivian and Phoenix are by far my favorite. Enemies to lovers/sports romance. You will be going from being upset, to laughing, to swooning over these two. And I love how the other characters are intertwined into the book as well! I can’t wait to read their stories as well in the future! But, Vivian

That is the 78th book I have read that I have read since the end of April and it is fighting for the top read spot! I only say fighting because I read everything from spicy romance to dark unhinged make you question your sanity romance to YA lol.
I mean I started out wanting to throat punch Nix, I laughed so hard I had tears rolling. My heart clenched during the (don’t want to spoil it), my thighs clenched during the praise 🫣, and the ending by far the best way (again don’t want to spoil for those that haven’t finished)

Vivian and Phoenix hit it off when they were both in college, but when Vivian overhears Phoenix talking to his buddies about all his hookups, it breaks her heart. This causes her to harden her heart and not let any guy hurt her ever again. Years later, Phoenix gets traded from NYC to Texas and is surprised to see Vivian is the sports reporter for the team. She has yet to forget about what happened years ago even though she is drawn to him. Phoenix apologizes and works hard to get back in Vivian's good graces, but she is extremely reluctant to let him back in. This was such a great story, and I loved Vivian's personality and how Phoenix fell hard and fast for her. 🔥❤️🍑

Wow, oh wow, this book 👌 is everything!!! The characters, the storyline, the tropes, all of it is perfection! We were introduced to Viv as one of Cami's friends in Magnolia Creek book 1, but I was not ready for this red-headed vixen and her snarky words! She is a girl I want in my corner! The things she comes out with had me laughing out loud. The stubborn fmc is such a fun, sparky, and stubborn character, although I could have shook her a couple of times for being a bit too stubborn when it came to phoenix! Speaking of phoenix, where do I start... say hello to my new book boyfriend! He is a hot baseball god with a filthy mouth and a touch her and die attitude!! As much as I disliked him at the start, I very, very quickly,'fell head over ass for phoenix West!'
The storyline was a fabulous enemies to lovers, sports romance, it had me hooked from the start, I couldn't put it down. It was such a fun and suspenseful read, full of sexual tension, which I just love! I like the fact it can be read as a standalone but I adore how it does tie in with book number one 'The pieces left behind' and how the characters and timeline interlink, therefore I do recommend reading book one first (it is just as great).
If you love a good smut book, then this is for you!!! This book is easily one of my favourite reads this year!!! I highly recommend everyone to read it!

When Fate steps in and places Phoenix in her life again, the hatred feeling are still strong and this is when this book gets good!! I love the fight that Vivian has and how she tries so hard to hold onto it but seeing Phoenix in a different light, makes her weak. Phoenix is the KING of dirty talk.. I swear this man could look at you and you want to take your pants off... Vivian is a lucky girl in more ways than one!! Between the banter and realization of everything that goes on with this, this book will take you on a journey and you will fall in love with the characters of Magnolia Creek!! There's some drama that happens but thankfuly Vivian is a strong enough character that she sees thru it. If you like your men, possessive and all Alpha then this is the book and series for you! These men fall hard and love their women with everything they have ! Oh and they don't let any man get close to them! I thought I loved Vaughn and Cami's story but Phoenix and Vivian have blown them out the water!! These two are my favorite couple!! I can't wait to read the next book and see how much more this author grows in her writing!!

Going to go ahead and add you to the top of my list for new fav book boyfriend!!! You sexy son of a gun!!
Okay!! Let’s get started here. Phoenix and Vivian met back in the college days one summer and P might have gotten caught putting his foot in his mouth, trying to be cool, with his boys. And boy did they backfire, when V heard the whole chat. And boy did this change her going forward…. No more nerdy, quiet sweet Vivian after this situation.
Fast forward 10 years later and they are put into that forced proximity situation and all Bets are off for Vivian being able to stay away from him…. She is the sports broadcaster for the team Phoenix was traded to, as the pitcher! So being forced to be around one another has gotten this vivacious red head all up in her feels- and boy does she let him know just how she feels!…. And it’s a story you are NOT going to want to miss!!!
Vivian is a firecracker redhead who is a no bull kind of boss babe!!! I love her character!!! She is funny, blunt, super intelligent && a hard lady to break!
Phoenix is a sexy, manly baseball player who knows how to put it down in the bedroom with his dirty talk and with the bat he is carrying around in his pants!! But he is also so sweet, kind and caring… like a broody cinnamon roll- yes I just made up my own thing there.

Erm what just happened? I got sucked into this world of Phoenix and Vivian and couldn't get out until the end.
This book had made me feel all sorts. It was so funny at times, then melting with all those dirty words coming out of Phoenix' mouth 🥵and then crying like a baby.
We met Viv in book one. I love this friendship group, they are awesome. Viv was hardened by an incident that happened in the past. So now she is fierce, sassy and so confident, gone the shy book worm. I loved her strong character but at times I wished she would stop being to stubborn and strong. Life was perfect with her sky high wall around her heart until the one and only Phoenix turns up from her past.
Phoenix has a lot to make up and he is ready to fight, this time for keeps.
He was such a fun and cheeky character. Jeez that man can melt you with just words. He is so dominant and proper Alpha with touch her and I will unalive you vibes.
Their interactions were so entertaining and the chemistry was 🔥. I loved it every time they were together and those Spicy scenes, let's just say my inner vixen was satisfied. Haha.

Well, well, well... I FINALLY got my baseball hottie hero! I really liked this one a lot. Phoenix and Vivian have a sordid past and Vivian is a changed woman because of it. Fast forward ten years after their last encounter and Phoenix is drafted to the Houston Wranglers- which just so happens to be the team that Vivian is a sports reporter for. Phoenix will stop at NOTHING to finally make amends and lock Vivian down once and for all. But y'all... sassy doesn't even begin to describe Viv!
My only qualm with this book was that Phoenix seemed to push Vivian *so hard* into a relationship with him and I wasn't sure she was ready. Old habits die hard for both of these main characters and it was interesting to see how they got past their issues. And Phoenix West... shoooweeeee he is HOT. And if you know me, you know I live for a hot man in baseball pants!
This was my first read from this author and I can't wait to check out more of her work in the future. There's one couple I'm super excited to see down the road- hello taboo age gap! 👏🏼

Man oh man.. Vivian and Phoenix. This is book 2 in the Magnolia Creek series, and we were introduced to these characters in the first book.
We get a chance to see these two characters in their college days when things very quickly go south. Fast forward 10/11 years later - Phoenix is a hot shot baseball pitcher in the pros that is traded to the team where Vivian is the on field reporter for the team.
It is clear from the beginning that Vivian never got over what happened between the two, and in turn had turned her into the sassy & fierce woman she is today. The one who does not take any sh!t, and sticks to meaningless hookups as she refuses to give more of herself to anyone; including Phoenix.. despite his efforts after they see each other after all these years.
I loved them both. Do I think Vivian held a grudge for entirely too long? Yes. But it was nice to see her step into her bada$$ self, even if it was because of getting hurt in college. But in the end, they were perfect for each other. The push and pull between the two, the vulnerability they each shown even having never done it before. Phoenix fell, and he fell hard. He wanted his chance to make it right - and prove to her that he is not the person she thinks he is.

But I love Phoenix oh my god the mouth on that man… lord have mercy help us all… he’s got a filthy mouth and the tools to back up that mouth. I think watching their relationship grow in the book is the best plot just because she’s this spunky women, and he’s just done taking excuses from her, he’s all in, and she’s like eh we’ll see buddy.

I have never read a book by Ryan Marie but after reading this one I will be reading the first one and prepare for more after that. This is about Phoenix West and Vivian Kelly who first meet in college and Phoenix is your typical college guy a jerk who doesn’t think. Vivian is a shy girl who thinks Phoenix is her fantasy who she thinks she should lose her V-card to. But that all changes when she overhears a conversation and from then from that moment decides she would rather use a guy for physical purposes then she won’t get hurt. Fast forward 10yrs later, Phoenix is a star pitcher and could have any girl he wants. But the one he wants more than a casual relationship has her walls up so high that he has to go pretty far. Vivian is a well known reporter and now has a good support group. When they first see eachother they have hilarious banters and then the truth comes out about misunderstandings. Phoenix will stop at nothing to break down her walls and he will do anything to break them down. Eventually his gestures and gratitude break them down and he is able to show her his caring and considerate and has a “dirty” side. This is a great story where sometimes it takes losing something to know you won’t lose it again if your given a second chance. Please take the time to check it out you will love it too.

Vivian is by far one of the strongest, most independent women I’ve ever read about. Her confidence and just overall persona was so intriguing to read about, but watching her grow and realize her true feelings was just something us readers needed.

Phoenix and Vivian are the best the hottest couple I would call, even though I don't know about the others but I have a feeling these are my fav of all. Vivian is a sassy and fiery redhead and we all know how redheads are!!! I was in love with Vivian from the start. I loved her personality and everything about her. The way a teenage girl with a broken heart made herself into a fierce woman, I was amazed by. And the witty comebacks were my favorite to read. Vivian knew how to keep Phoenix on his toes 😂. Phoenix, with whom I was angry at first but gradually I fell in love with him. Phoenix is my favorite current book boyfriend. I just loved them. The couple is so hot and the chemistry between them is so overwhelming.

This is book 2 in the Magnolia Creek series. This story follows Vivian and Phoenix. They knew each other in college, but he broke her heart because he was a player. Now they are all grown and in their careers, and they run into each other again. Vivian still remembers how he was and has hardened herself to love, and especially to Phoenix West. He is hoping for a chance to redeem himself and make her his.
This book had hilarious banter, a strong FMC, a dirty MMC, and plenty of sweet and spicy moments. The chemistry they had was an inferno. You just knew it was going to be sizzling between them. These two got down in the bedroom! This man has a mouth on him (and knows how to use it!)
Phoenix really won me over just like he eventually won Vivian over. He put in the work to get her to fall for him. He knew just what Vivian needed and slowly broke down her toughness so she would let him in. He was loving, possessive, and obsessed in public, and dominant and commanding in bed. So, perfect 😍
Vivian is my kind of girl. She’s smart, successful, and lives life her own way. She knows what she wants and goes for it. But once she let Phoenix in, she sees how great love can be. I loved to see her development over the course of the book.

First thought: Im not sure what’s hotter the weather in Texas or this book. Only one word to describe it: WOW! If you like passion, second chances, a strong take no shit female MC and it extra spicy this ones for you.
Vivian is a take no prisoners chew them out spit them out gal. She works as a sports correspondent in Texas for the Wranglers, she loves all things baseball. Her life is fabulous. She loves her job, she’s happy with her no string hookups and she has the best girlfriends anyone could ask for. She wrote relationships with men off after a week party in college showed her the guy she likes true colors.
Phoenix is the golden boy major league pitcher who’s hotter than anything. He just signed a record breaking contract with the Wranglers. After a year in rehab recovering from surgery he has new priorities he’s given up the playboy life as he always thinks about one girl who got away.
These two collide in Texas and thing get hot!

Let me start by saying Ryan Marie hit this one out of the park (see what I did there).
This book is a book 2 and is a standalone. One thing I really loved about this book is that the timeline runs concurrent with book 1. Sometimes with standalones you will read book 2 and it takes place years later. I loved how in this book you got to see an event unfold from book 1 in the eyes of Vivan. You got to see things from her perspective. I loved that this book wasn't years after book 1.
I think Phoenix is my new book boyfriend! Damn that man is🥵. The confidence that he gives off knowing damn well Vivian is his and should have been years ago (but you know typical college boy being dumb ruined that). He walks back into Vivians's life and turns her world upside down. The filth that comes from his mouth is everything Viv did not know she needed in her perfectly laid out life.
I loved both of them opening up to each other and learning to love.

When I devoured Vaughn and Cami's book I knew Ryan was going to be a new favorite of mine! And Lord! West Bound was hot!! This book had me hooked from first chapter! Viv is a firecracker. The girl is jaded! And while I get it, she is no holds bar! Chick's a man eater and I love it! She's fire and sass! She's gives Phoenix a run for his money! & then some! Their banter is hilarious! The attract and pull to one another is undeniable! The back and forth! The way they give each other crap... holding nothing back! You can feel the heat and angst between the two! Phoenix is hott! He's confident, sexy and that dirty mouth! I can't decide if I love it more when he calls her peaches or when he calms it down and calls her sweetheart. Either way that man is 🥵🫠🤤. Plus you know I love my baseball boys!
Ryan wrote another amazing book! And I'll be living in it for awhile! At least until the next one!
