And all I can think about is all the times my father told me love is weakness.
Except, I don’t feel weak.
I feel anything but.
There’s a fire lit beneath me, and there’s nothing I won’t do to avenge the man I love.
Our enemies thought they could break us, but all they’ve done is ensure their own demise.
After everything we’ve been through, after everything we’ve done, this is our final stand.
I just hope we can make it out the other side without any more casualties.
This is a dark why choose romance with four morally grey MMC’s. There are themes in this book that some may find triggering, and I urge you to check the content note before reading. This is the final book of the series and ends with a HEA.
Montana is an Amazon Top 50 bestselling author of spicy dark romance. She writes possessive anti-heroes who will make you swoon and feisty heroines who give as good as they get.
She lives in Australia with her husband and four cats, and is a self proclaimed garlic bread connoisseur. She loves to travel the world, but also loves to have her head in a spicy book in her home library and office.
★ᯓ 5 Stars ᯓ★ ⤷ I loved this one honestly, the utter love they had for her and that scene at the warehouse 😩
Something about men crying gets me going bruhhh 🫠🫠 like yess cry for me. That fight scene where Camilla used the chains 😩😩😩😩 Like I could reread that part all day, so hot, she was so bad ass in this book.
I loved Crew so much in this book, like something about daddy crew being scared for my life is so hot. 😛😛
So glad this ended with an HEA I would have crashed out otherwise. Also I need to read the rest of the books for this universe I NEED TO KNOW THE TEA THIS AUTHOR KNOWS WHAT SHE'S DOING.
I need to read Wyatt's, Elias's, and Leighton's book they're so cute together. 🥹
------------------- AHHHHHHHH THEY GOT THEIR HAPPY EVER AFTER YAYYYYYYY RTC 😩
Pre-read That cliffhanger has me clutching my pearls I am TERRIFIED
It is incredibly difficult to write a thorough review for this book without including any spoilers for the series overall, but I will try my best…
This was my favorite book from the Legion series overall, and it was also the most satisfying. It picked up exactly where the previous book left off, right after a major cliffhanger and in the middle of some intense action/drama. After that, it never slowed down. This book was a constant onslaught of either spicy, slightly unhinged intimate scenes, or high stakes dramatic situations that you really couldn’t predict a way out of for the characters.
Every time that I thought I saw where something was going, or thought I had an idea of what would happen next, the author threw me for a loop, which was exciting. Camilla shined in this book as a tough as nails mafia queen who was more than capable of holding her own, as well as a relatable young woman with some insecurities about her place in not only her world, but in her relationships. I’ve really enjoyed reading along with her character growth over the course of this series, and being able to watch her transform from a terrified, naive, sheltered teenager into a true mafia kingpin with the world at her fingertips.
One of the most exciting things in this book were all of the cameos from characters from previous Montana Fyre series, such as the Saint James family from the Frost books, and the trio from Trust in the Fallen. We got to see a lot of these characters in this book, and that was a really wonderful crossover of worlds for a fan of this author.
She also took an opportunity to introduce some brand new characters in this book, in the form of other Mafia families and for-hire assassins who had come forward to assist the Legion in their fight against their enemies. The way in which she described these characters indicated to me that it will most likely not be the last time we meet them, and hinted to future book projects, at least in my mind.
As I said at the beginning of this review, it is incredibly hard to discuss any of the really exciting, important or stunning events and plot twists from it without spoiling the story for others. This book was so packed full of action, drama, sexy scenes, plot twists…there really was not a single lull. I started reading it at 7pm, and read it through to the very end by 3am the next day, with no breaks, because it was that captivating. Highly recommend to this series overall to any fans of dark mafia romances!
Ahhhhhh, I received this book as an arc, and omg, I could not put it down.
This is the fourth book in the Syndicate of Legion series. Montana, once again, pulls out an absolutely amazing book that balances romance, drama, and darkness with a satisfying happily-ever-after.
I absolutely adore this series, and this book delivers on every front and further solidifies why Montana is one of my favourite authors!
This book captures the evolving relationships between Cami and her men, all the while she remains a beacon of strength and resilience, with a backbone that blows me away! Despite the complexities of everything going on around her, she continues to stand tall and give as good as she gets! While also showing her enemies that she is no pushover!
I also love how each of the men got an individual and different connection with her, making their interactions feel genuine and deeply engaging without feeling like the same stuff is just being repeated! Which I think is great because sometimes a why choose can be repetitive, but not in this book.
Another thing that Montana does that I loved in this book is the seamless integration of characters from her other series. These crossovers not only enrich the narrative but also provide a delightful treat for any readers who are familiar with those characters. It’s clear that Montana enjoys building an interconnected universe, and this book offers a gratifying glimpse into how these different storylines intersect, and I love knowing how they are going and getting that small glimpse.
As always, I got sucked into this book so much that it was impossible to put the book down, and I finished in less than 24 hours, haha. But that's nothing unusual.
The dark themes in this are handled with care, ensuring that they enhance rather than overshadow the romantic elements. And while the book delves into a couple of possible heavy moments, the ending does provide us with a HEA that ties everything together beautifull which is good becauae we needed it haha after all those cliffhangers and I am sad to see this series end!
ARC REVIEW!! (I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review)
I should've expected these emotions but my God this series has me in a chokehold. The nerves I had this entire book waiting for one shoe to drop after the other. This was an amazing series, montana did an amazing job getting you to care about the characters and pretty much feel everything they went through. There's so much I want to say but I'm not ruining this for you. When I say Camilla is THE mafia queen she's it. Her strength and courage still surprise the men of the Syndicate as well as every other man who underestimates her. I think I'm in a book hangover I still have tears in my eyes from the ending. I thought Daddy Crew was my favorite but my God Kovu just does it for me. The way he was able to make a complete change in this series while still being himself. Camilla brought out the best in all of these men but her change with Kovu is the most telling. The Easter eggs with all the other characters from Montana's books coming to be an ally had me cheering for everyone involved. But I can't wait for the next book I smelled coming in this book.
(Thank you Montana Fyre and The Next Step PR for the opportunity to read this ARC)
Crew - more of Crew’s history is just heartbreaking but I’m so glad it was included. Daddy crew forever. The chapter 13 scene … my heart fluttered. So sweet.
Kaos - such a sweet bear of a man. Not sure if he’s muscling out Kovu for my eternal love… Montana really balanced him well between sadist and loving boyfriend.
Bishop - always a solid character but maybe not as present in the first half of the book for me. He shines in the second half and honestly, giving daddy vibes.
Kovu - probably the most devastating story and he got the sweetest send off. Had me feeling better about it all ending.
The scene we’ve all been begging for finally happened! *chefs kiss* A girl can dream right?
The first half was a slower pace than usual - giving grace for readers to enjoy this final book. But hit about half way and I struggled to put the book down. The story was gripping and had me panicking for real.
As promised me got our HEA and boy was it sweet. Feeling forlorn that my favourite four psychos are gone now but so happy with these four books!
I loved this book, i ran to read it after the cliffhanger in from the ashes, and i was sucked in from the very beginning.
Did i cry? Yes Did i laugh? Yes Did i swoon? Damn right i did Did i read it all in one go? I sure did
It's full of obsessive alpha men, tonnes of drama and action, fantastic spice and chemistry, banter and twists, and turns on every page.
There's something about the men of the Legion you will be pulled in, shaken about and left full of love.
I am so sad that we are saying goodbye to the Legion series, but i can't wait to see what Montana pulls of the bag next. We know it's going to be epic!!
Holy hell what a ride! This book alone had me crying at the beginning and the end. This was such an incredible series. Like definitely going into my top 5.
More truth bombs were dropped in this last book. They broke my heart and made me mad. But Camilla and her guys are finally on solid ground in their relationship in the last book and that made the drama coming at them from the outside both more intense yet easier to read.
I am obsessed with all four guys, I can’t pick a favorite. Which is insane considering the crap Kaos pulled throughout the series.
If you are a dark romance lover and you haven’t read this series, you are doing a disservice to yourself.
The spice was absolutely freaking delicious. The plot is not hindered by the spice.
WHAT A FINALLY! I loved this series so much. I hate that it had to end. It ended on such a high note. I am glad that all of the books are available now so that they can be enjoyed without waiting. I’m definitely going to have to do a reread in the future.
I am glad that we got to see resolution for the characters and answers to the questions that have been plaguing me throughout the series. The twists in these books are also appreciated.
I am going to miss these characters so much. The growth and development was wonderful. I will literally devour anything Montana Fyre writes…
Wow we have made it through 3 major scary cliffhangers to get to this point. Camilla and her men's journey has been one of test and overcoming the odds. This series has become one of my favorite Mafia Whychoose. I so hope we might get an extended epilogue someday. This series had me on the end of my seat and not wanting to put the book down. Well done and I can't wait to see what is next for Montana.
This book was the best one yet. So good in fact I didn’t want it to end. I would love to see some next gen books come about with the other series’ and this one.
This was a good conclusion to the story, but I am glad that everything is over now. There was so much repeated and so much dragged out, that this could have been cut back to fewer books, for sure.
Editing issue: the word penance was used when I think they meant penchant. Not just once, but twice! That should have been picked up by the editor, at the very least.
I know I mentioned this in a previous review in this series, but... why the heck did they let them live so long, knowing they would be coming after them? It was less than a day after her dad broke the contract that they killed him, but Charles and Caleb get to go free after repeated attempts to overthrow and kill them? Then, when they are held by the bad guys, they are chained up for days with just the threat of death. Why? If they wanted them to die, why keep them alive that long? When Caleb was finally captured, they went to torture and kill him immediately. I suppose, again, it is to build drama? The inconsistency is irritating, but I guess the author does what they need to in order to sell books.
I still might recommend this series to others, if they like lighter mafia RH series. It's just a longer one for no reason. I don't think I would read this again.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ms. Montana Fyre is absolutely top notch at writing mafia!
Ohhhh yes!!! This was such an epic finale! Those men have it sooooo bad for their queen. I love seeing cross overs from other series and seeing so many other families pop up was so fun!
The ending of this story could not have been better! I devoured this entire series over the course of a weekend!
RH MMMM/Mafia/Enemies to Lovers & Insta obsession/Multi PoV
SYNOPSIS (of 4 Book Series): The story is set in the world of 5 mafia families which are overseen and kept in line by the Syndicate. Book 1 opens with the FC, Camilla, waking on her 18th birthday to find she was promised at birth to the head of another mafia family and is to marry on her birthday. She runs but is caught, badly beaten and left for dead in an alley. Enter the MCs who are members of the Syndicate and who find her and nurse her back to health. The MCs are split between two who are immediately obsessed with the FC, one who hates her and one who isn’t sure. The story arc then follows how Camilla falls for each of the MCs and they fall for her, how she takes over her family as Don and fights against hidden enemies that want to kill her and bring down the Syndicate.
HEAT LEVEL: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆 The spice level is high and increases over the books with long sections dedicated to spice. None of the MCs are vanilla and all have their own darkness and kink ranging from control to pain and dominance. This is also one of those series where the oldest MC likes the FC calling him “daddy” 🤢. Books 3 and 4 particularly not only have long scenes but the books themselves are probably around 60% or more spice. Personally this was too much and the books were more sex scenes joined by a bit of story rather than a story with a bit of spice. Whilst the scenes are relatively hot the terminology is crude with overuse of the c*&t word and “holes” 🤮 which again, is not mind kind of thing.
Overall, this could have been a decent mafia series but the heavy handed, crude spicy scenes and the lack of character depth or relationship building let it down. There’s violence (mainly with some torture scenes) and a bit of angst and drama with each book (save for Book 4) ending on a cliffhanger.
The story is not unique for a mafia story and the characters are all relatively one dimensional so I found it hard to really get behind them especially with the large emphasis on spice. I found the FC annoying and weak. The author tells you multiple times that she was trained by her father and the FC talks about how her father taught her to be strong and yet there are no scenes where she holds her own. She doesn’t seem to be able to fight or protect herself, she caves when challenged and never carries a gun. It’s all very annoying. The MCs are simply brutes with no depth and the author is more focussed on how dark and twisted they are than actually creating strong characters. The result is that they come across as a bunch of overgrown children. Even Bishop who is supposed to be the bright one shows no real intelligence. Time after time they walk into traps or get shot at when an idiot could have seen what was coming.
The villains are ridiculous and it’s hard to understand why they were not simply shot long before the finale (but then that would have made too much sense and the author would not have been able to stretch the story over 4 Books!) Don’t get me started on the FC’s supposed “deathbed” scene towards the end of Book 4 which had me rolling my eyes hard at how ridiculous it was 😫
In summary it seems very little real thought has gone into this series, the world building or the characters. If you are looking for a story heavy on spice with a bit of a narrative to join things together but which you don’t really have to think about then this is the series for you. I managed to “read” all 4 books in just over a day due to the skimming 😆
Omg. Oh my god. This series has took me on such an emotional rollercoaster, but this book has by far been the one that ruined me then put me back together. I have NEVER cried over a book before, but this? This had me crying my eyes out by page 22.
“And then it hits me all over again. This is as close as I’m ever going to be to him. This is as good as it gets.”
That scene had my crying, I’m talking proper snot bubble crying. The author really got into my feels with this one. After following these characters into the 4th book, the character building that was done in the previous 3 books really had me shattered at the thought Kovu was gone.
But then saying that, by page 25 I was literally screaming at the pages… peep my notes ⬇️⬇️
“”What are our next steps?” Kaos asks, breaking the silence we descended into an hour ago. “We find whoever tampered with Kovu’s car and find out who orchestrated this,” Crew replies, his face still buried in Camilla’s hair.”
⁉️Woah, I’m sorry but I know you saw the car explode, but don’t you maybe wanna actually double check he is dead????? Like you all just jumped into bed assuming he didn’t somehow miraculously survive and currently sat in hospital wondering where tf you all are?????
“Except we’re not whole anymore. We’re missing an integral part of our family.”
‼️FIND. OUT. IF. HE. IS. ACTUALLY. DEAD. FFS ‼️
So I’m just sat there like, c’mon guys. You all just got home, jumped into bed and was like yea what’s next???? Don’t you wanna like find out if he is definitely dead? I get having to flee the scene but surely you would want to see his crispy body just to make sure?!
By page 40 I was sobbing again 🫣
“Did my little lamb just kill for me?”
Then by page 41 I was back to raging 🤡
“Where were you? We thought you were dead.”
NO YOU JUST ASSUMED HE WAS DEAD.
The rest of the book was the usual spice, even got a scene involving all of them, and let me just say, that shit was spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I’m still rolling from who was the rat in there compound. I absolutely DID NOT expect that.
“She’s flatlining.”
No you don’t. Not today satan. I have cried enough over this book!!
Overall, this series is pretty fucking amazing. The spice, the character development, the world development, the plot… it has it all and if you come away not loving all 4 men, then I don’t know who’s got the issues, me or you???
Highly recommend. This series is up there is my most favourite books of all time. You must start from book 1, or nothing will make any sense 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
I Love This Book So Much! I Am Camilla! Just the Greek version
I Love This Book So Much! This series is Beyond Amazing! It is Rare I get so excited and involved so much with laughter, tears, and wishing there was more to their story than just four books. Maybe Montana Fyre will Bless us with a surprise and continue more of their story as Cami becomes pregnant and more problems come into play. I sincerely LOVE ALL THE GUYS Kovu, Bishop, Crew, Kaos. It was in that Order at first then yes Kovu is always kind of #1 no matter what even though everyone else is pretty much on the same level believe it or not as the books continued. Even the First book I really had a hard time placing the characters in order. Second, and third books forget it. Kaos stole my heart with the turn around so obviously just heart throb. Bishop, and Crew of course we all probably never had a problem with them either but anyway it is hard to place them for an order. They all are #1! Seriously She is the Italian version to my Greek Princess life I grew up. Business and all. Joke was we are mafia. No we aren’t lol. Ugh this was one of the hardest books/ series I have finished and it hurts since I felt so drawn to this character like I am her. Montana Fyre you are Amazing! Please maybe continue my idea? It would probably make a lot of us happy. If not could you pretty please make one about a Greek Mafia girl same premises like this. Maybe with my name Konstantina. Not just because it is my name but it is such a beautiful name I am lucky my parents have named me after my Grandfather Konstantino. There aren’t to many Greek mafia books. It is a shame, with your writing I swear you would honestly forever be my hero. I would love to help with anything you may need as well.
I received this as an ARC and extremely thankful to Montana and Next step PR for this opportunity.
This is book four in the Syndicate of Legion series.
I can’t even tell you the excitement I had when I received this because ya girl is honestly obsessed with this series!
This was one wild ride and as much as my heart was in my ass I also enjoyed every bloody second of this book and series.
The fact that this world had me in a vice. The connection between Cami and her four men was so intense and crazy but in such a good way. Their relationship evolves so much throughout these books and I love getting to see Crew, Bishop, Kaos and Kovu’s affection get stronger and stronger and the fact that these men will do absolutely anything for Cami and the fact that Cami will also do anything and everything for them.
I was so engrossed in the mafia aspects of this series as well and felt like nothing was ever overshadowed, the spice and the storyline was so well balanced throughout that I’ve managed to binge read every book in one sitting.
Once again thank you Montana for this opportunity and for creating such a fantastic world with loveable characters that I’m so obsessed with and will continue to think about this series for forever.
I highly recommend this series if your looking for - Why choose - Age gap - Girl boss - Mafia romance Then this one is definitely for you.

𝑾𝒆 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒆 the final book in the Syndicate of the Legion Series.
This book brings everything to their conclusion. Camilla steps up again to show her strength in the face of their enemies and gets more of a leading role. This is packed full of drama, suspense and spice from start to finish. I felt like this book had some heavier moments then the previous books as well.
One of the things I love in this why choose was the individuality for Kaos, Kovu, Bishop and Crew how each had their own unique relationship with their girl and how it evolves throughout the books to get them to their ending and what that looks like individually as well as a family.
Following Montana and having read her other series it was a treat to have the crossover from previous characters and enriched the story even more.
The last several chapters pulled on my emotions while I am happy they get their HEA I am sad that this is the end of Camilla and her Legion. A great series and definitely recommend. I am looking forward to what we will get next.
This Exceptional ending to the Syndicate of the Legion Series picks up right where the last story leaves us on a cliffhanger. Camilla and her men - Crew, Kaos, Bishop and Kovu find themselves in the fight of their lives and once they believe they finally get the upper hand do Charle and Caleb cause chaos, destruction, death and pain for them. We learn the history of Crew and how he fought and suffered while just trying to live then becoming the Syndicate. Along the way Crew takes in both Kaos and Kovu as his own and raises them as members of the Syndicate along with his son, Bishop. Camilla’s men each have their own misery and hardships but will do whatever is necessary to protect her. Crew and Camilla find themselves in a haunting situation and are forced to endure torture for days. When things become life threatening Camilla shows Crew that all the training she went through as a child by her father shows him one strong determined woman! This dark romance is by far one of a kind story with characters you’ll fall in love with their damaged souls and hearts. When their allies provide support do they have a fighting chance…
It’s bittersweet to be writing my final review for The Legion series, which has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. This final book stands out as my favorite of the four, packed with unexpected twists and turns that kept me on edge.
Picking up right where book three left us with that agonizing (yet thrilling) cliffhanger, Montana Fyre once again delivers an incredible blend of steamy romance and intense action. The plot unfolded in ways I never anticipated, keeping the suspense high until the very end.
What I loved most was the character development. Each character not only grew individually but also evolved as a team, blending seamlessly into this tight-knit group of five. The introduction of new characters, like the “for-hire assassins” who aided the Legion in their fight, was a refreshing addition. Plus, the cameos from the Saint James family, a nod to Montana’s other works, added a nice touch for long-time fans.
While I’m sad to see this series conclude, I couldn’t be more satisfied with how it ended. I highly recommend The Legion series to anyone looking for a thrilling and emotional ride. I can’t wait to see what Montana Fyre has in store for us next!
WOW!!!! I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster the past week, while reading this entire series. I could not put the books down and had to force myself to go to bed. Camilla is a young Mafia princess, who is underestimated by the men in the mafia world. What they don’t realize is her father taught her how to fight, take pain, and to kill. This is the final book in the series and I had so many emotions, because I knew the series was coming to an end. From the beginning, we watched Cami form a relationship with Bishop, Kovu, Crew, and Kaos. Bishop and Kovu are the first to fall for her, and slowly Crew warms up to the idea of her being with them. Koas is the last one to realize she is the one for them, and he sure does fall hard. Each guy has been through so much, especially Kovu and Cami helps him with his dark demons. Two things are clear, they love each other very much, and key players in the mafia world do not want Cami and her men together. They want to destroy them by killing Cami. They sure do try SEVERAL times. Towards the end, I wasn’t so sure we’d get our HEA, but I’m so glad we did. Read this entire series and you won’t be disappointed.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This series is one of my top reads of 2024, and I couldn't have asked for a better conclussion. It start off right where book 3 ends so make sure you read them in order. It thrusts you back into the drama, danger, and emotional upheaval, and that rollercoaster keeps going until the very last page. It's not an easy story, and it doesn't shy away from the danger or violence that I imagine when I think of the mafia world. The men aren't tender, except for when they are, but Camilla doesn't need or want tender. She needs strong, aggressive, passionate men who will burn the world down for her the same way she will for them. There are some very steamy scenes in this one, but it's not just sexy times. There's a battle being fought, and danger is all around them. I loved that the storyline is just as complex as the relationship between all the characters. I would describe the whole thing as captivating and riveting, and I couldn't put it down. I don't know what Ms. Fyre is working on next, but I can't wait for her next book.
