2☆ When the fun tropes aren’t funning I can get a little pissy.
I feel like it should be somewhat difficult to mess up a bodyguard novella. But the insta-lust felt awkward and random, and they acted on it after about 2 minutes, which made them seem like monkeys. Or bunnies? 🥴 Also I’m not sure when I was supposed to think the insta-love happened; they didn’t really talk about themselves lol. The whole thing took place over a period of about 24 hours, which is how long she paid for his services. And the big bad biker’s not very good at eliminating the threat, since the prissy dude keeps returning…Even the villain was kinda meh. Finally: honey, if you’re starving and people aren’t buying enough of your homemade scented candles, maybe try something else. 😏

I need my own Axel rn 😔✊.
This was one of the best CM novellas I've read in a while. I literally had to take breaks while reading it because I didn't want it to end 😭💀. The things I would do for more scenes aren't even funny 🤡.

I had no expectations and just wanted to read a quick little novella, but this turned out to be a winner. ✨
H is a big and mean looking biker that is very enthusiastic when it comes to protecting his woman.
It cracked me up to see how much fun he had manhandling the h‘s stalker. 🤣
“Whoopsie,” I say, breaking his wrist easily. Peter howls, angry tears spilling down his flushed cheeks, but when I hold his face close to mine, he stops thrashing.
Christ, I feel so alive right now. I’m grinning broadly as I carry Peter to the door, holding him away from the furniture as we go, and there’s a bounce in my step when I thrust him toward the stairs.
But at the same time, he was so sweet and mindful with her. 🩷

This is my first ever book by Cassie Mint and I absolutely loved it.
Our MMC Axel works for the Spartan Shield Corp who provides protection for individuals. He gets a call and is tasked a job to guard and protect an unknown woman for 24 hours. Not knowing much, he takes on the job and makes his way to her. Little does he know she will knock him off his feet.
Our FMC Jem is the person Axel is tasked to protect. She is dealing with a man she had one bad date with who has now started stalking her. Fearing for her safety she puts together enough money to be guarded for 24 hours as that’s all she can afford.
Neither of them were prepared for the intense reaction they both experience when meeting for the first time.
Sparks fly and it becomes so much more than a “job” for Axel.
Despite being a short novella I fully enjoyed it. It wasn’t only spicy but had a really good plot to capture your attention.
My only wish is that it was longer.
What happens when the man tasked to protect you is an intimidating biker who desires to protect you for the rest of his days? That’s for me to know and for you to find out.

So, I did enjoy reading this. The external plot was a lot darker than I’m used to reading from Cassie Mint, but I did find the romance itself quite cute and if you like instalove then this would work for you, especially if you like a heavy dose of ‘touch her and die’ vibes. The dynamic between Jem and Axel is very entertaining and it just worked for me. They’re both obsessed with each other. It’s a quick, easy read, nothing too complicated, and I had fun with it.

Jem is working at a market where she sells her selfmade candles. That's where she met Peter and now after a few dates and her breaking it off, Peter became her personal nightmare and creepy stalker. So she hires a bodyguard to keep her safe. Axel is her new bodyguard and when he sees Jem, he instantly knows she will be his. He fell hard and fast for her and nothing and nobody can stop him from being with his woman and to keep her safe from her creepy stalker. Instalove, age gap, OTT, short, steamy sweet, romantic, fun to read, a bit of action and safe with an awesome HEA and no real OP drama(delusional ex apart😉).😍😍😍😍😍

So this was an enjoyable, over the top, instalove, bodyguard romance between a biker and a lonely virgin girl who is being stalked. This takes place within 24 hours, and has an epilogue style 3 years later snippet. I was really enjoying the beginning of this novella, but honestly quite a few things threw me off. I think the two biggest issues I had were the virgin plot line (it just came out of nowhere and felt weird with the way it was written), and the fact that I couldn't quite pin any details down. I honestly have no clue what city or country this could possibly be and the way the story was written felt unfamiliar which is why I questioned the setting or even time period. This could have been 2005 for all I could tell. Also, these characters feel so isolated. There's no family (living) or friends mentioned really. The characters feel like they have been so alone that when they finally meet it's insta-love, marry me vibes within 24 hours. It feels unrealistic. Also, the stalking/bodyguard plot is like an after-thought halfway through.
Things I really enjoyed were the market and rain descriptions, the slow burn style romance while at the market (even though this is instalove), the chemistry between the characters, the easy way the bodyguard protects the fmc from her stalker giving her peace of mind, and the steamy small apartment scene. I also love that Axel just immediately wants to care for, protect, and love Jem. It was really cute.
So, overall this was an enjoyable novella that also happened to have a lot of flaws. It's so short though that there really is no harm in picking it up. Give it a try, you might like it.

Cassie Mint never fails to suck me into her books and I can easily read them in one sitting; this was no different.
This was a quick, sweet, insta-love story between Jem, (who is being harassed by her ex) and Axel the older, hot, biker hired to be her bodyguard, but only for 24-hours.
Jem has had a hard life and I loved her independence, determination and ability to reach out for help when needed.
I love that she finds a safe space with Axel, and he is so protective in the best way. The attraction between them is high and happens as soon as they see eachother. They make a great pair and are so sweet together.
As their time together drew near, they are left silently wondering if their connection and chemistry be over when their time is up and the job is done, or will they be able to keep each other when the work is done?
This is part of a standalone series from multiple authors. I may just have to check out a few more! Love a good bodyguard romance!

This book is part of the multi-author Back Away From My Girl series featuring the sweet and steamy biker,possessive bodyguard, ex-military, protector, stalker romance between Axel and Jem. Jem is being threatened and stalked by her ex-boyfriend who broke into her house and went through her stuff. Jem is so frightened that she scrapes together her savings in order to hire a bodyguard to protect her. Axel is the perfect man for the job he's big and rough looking with tattoos and a nasty looking knife on his belt. When Jem first sees him she flinches and when Axel sees Jem he knows that he has to protect her. The chemistry between them is HOT and Axel goes from a protective bodyguard to an obsessed possessive alpha-male. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this sweet and steamy biker,possessive bodyguard, ex-military,protector, stalker romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

These two were great together. Their chemistry was strong, and they didn't have any unnecessary drama! I liked that she didn't let her ego get in the way and knowing that she was out of her depth had asked for the help she needed. Axel was sweet to her but brought out his caveman and darker side when she was in trouble. The chemistry between them kept me wanting to read more which led to lots of steamy moments!
If you're looking for a fun, quick, insta-love, alpha male novella then I highly recommend you read this book!!

Guarded by a Broody Biker is an age-gap biker romance penned by Cassie Mint. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Jem and Axel. Shedated a guy for a couple of dates and broke up with him. Now, he is stalking her and she is frightened. She reaches out to Spartan Shield Corporation for a bodyguard. Axel is assigned her case. When they meet, there is an instant attraction. Each tries to be professional, however, their feelings are more than an infatuation. Peter, her ex, keeps harassing her despite a warning from Axel. Can Axel keep her safe? Will there be an HEA? To find out, you must read this book.
Ms. Mint penned a captivating romantic read. Her characters are multi=dimensional. As their tale unwinds, their strengths and vulnerabilities are revealed. thus, endearing them to her readers and making them real. Her dialog is strong. Her use of a dual POV further helps readers to understand the lead characters and their dynamics. The inclusion of the pair of adorable twin girls as secondary characters was outstanding. Their antics and dialogs were quite amusing and added to this story.

She is just an average girl, she hasn't lived a remarkable life. She sells homemade candles. But after venturing out to dating for the first time, she has landed herself a stalker in the form of the ex-boyfriend. She doesn't have much but decides that her piece of mind is worth it and empties her savings to hire a bodyguard. He is ex military, a big tattooed biker, working for a security company and gets the gig. He quickly realizes that she is not the usual rich client and that something or someone scared her good. He doesn't like that.
This is a short story format so you don't expect detailed character development or complicated plot lines. I think you get a pretty good idea of both of the main characters and their backgrounds. It is well written and the story has good layers and detail that draws you in. Of course they get their HEA in the end, after a little steamy spice!.

It was cute and as expected. Nice sexy times and no TSTL but also not a lot of character development due to the length.
One thing, this feels like it was written by someone from the UK. The setting is vague but Montana is mentioned so it's assumed to be in America but some of the expressions and words used aren't common in the U.S.

Jem is trying to run her candle stall and get by in life, but her ex refuses to let her be. Feeling scared, she decides to hire a bodyguard for 24hours to try to scare her ex away. When Axel shows up to her stall he is surprised at how strong Jen has been in the face of adversity and knows that he wants it to be his job to protect her and make her life easier, for the rest of her life.
This is a sweet, short romance, with a quick paced story line, that gives enough detail while still remaining short.
As always I am a huge fan of Cassie Mint and this book is another fantastic example of why, if you love short, safe romances, that you should give her books a read.

This is part of the Back Away From My Girl Series and was a wonderfully sweet and steamy inclusion. Jem is being stalked by an ex-boyfriend and can only afford to hire a bodyguard for 24hours. Enter Axel who is assigned to watch over Jem. He is instantly smitten with the candle-making woman and vows to stay with her until she is safe.
This is a quick, intense and smutty story with some conflict with an ex. Axel was big, gruff and determined to keep Jem safe. Jem in turn was a sweetheart whose life was lonely and tough; she didn’t let that make her resentful or hateful, however. Together these two were adorable and I wished the story was longer.

This is a quick, intense and smutty story with some conflict with an ex. Axel was big, gruff and determined to keep Jem safe. Jem in turn was a sweetheart whose life was lonely and tough; she didn’t let that make her resentful or hateful, however. Together these two were adorable and I wished the story was longer.

This is another fab addition to the series and I loved Jem's idea to hire a bodyguard to protect her from the escalating issues with her 'ex' (don't think 3 dates really make an ex but he's a creep!). She can only afford a guard for 24hrs, though. Axel takes the job due to location, more than anything else, and he's sure she's a princess, of some sort, until he sees her. She's had it tough and she's doing the best she can. These two have hot chemistry but a 24hr hire isn't a lot of time to get her safe or to believe in their connection...or is it? I love how this one unfolded, and just how sweet Axel was with Jem. They're a fab couple and wish I could spend more time with them ;D

This was another good book by Cassie. The story was great. I loved the connection between Axel and Jem. Axel's protectiveness and possessiveness were hot 🥵 The steamy scenes were good, too. The ending was also lovely. I wished that this book was a bit longer though. Nonetheless, it was a good read and I enjoyed reading this book so much ❤️

Axel may be big, tatted, growly and mean looking, but he has the biggest, softest heart when it comes to Jem, he becomes a sweet, thoughtful, reverent but deliciously dirty protector who worships his woman and eliminates any threat without a second thought. Jem has had a rough few years, she is living on the edge of poverty and waiting for the next blow to strike, but Axel ensures there is never another blow to strike her, from here onwards just happiness, love and lots of dirty talkin' and steamy lovin'.
A great addition to this multi author series, I really enjoyed Jem and Axel's instalove story which I read on Kindle Unlimited.

I have already read this twice, because I absolutely loved it!
CM is one of my favourite authors, and her books always hit the spot after a long day, when you just need a cuppa and some me-time.
Jem has found herself in a very sticky situation, and she needs some help ASAP, so she searches for someone to help her.
She gets the grumpy, but nice, bodyguard Axel, but since the money is tight, it’s only for one day.
Can he fix her problem in one day, or do they need to find a more permanent solution ? ;).

When Jem has finally broken down and realized she needs help to make her stalker go away she calls Spartan Shield. Axel is the man to answer that call. He shows up and suddenly Jen can breathe again. As they spend their time together Axel knows he’s never letting her go and hopes she feels the same. Her OTT sweet biker is perfect for her. Jem needs a bodyguard quick fast in a hurry. She doesn't know what's going on but if the hair on the back of her neck is standing straight up something's wrong. She's not really sure who might be threatening her but she has a good idea. This is where Axel comes into the picture. Bodyguard? Yes loves bikes? Definitely! Will he be able to find her stalker? He's pretty quick to have this story steamy. Instant connection between the two. Good short read.
