DNF not even 2 chapters in [i might continue it later]
I knew going in that he had dead ex gf/wife from the blurb that said 'revenge for the love of my life' but from the 2 chapters i read, all i got is he's still VERY hung up on his dead wife but still gets his dick wet with ow.
Meets h and finger bangs her in a crowded bar at the same place he was minutes before mourning his lost wife and how no one will replace her. He's also wearing his wedding ring when he fingers her. Yikes. This will be like watching a train wreck to happen where she will always be his second choice since he's already had a love of his life. So nope, i'm so not in the mood for this
while writing this, i just remembered that i even dnf'ed the previous book of this series because that H was the biggest grossest hoe. Now i doubt i'll pick this again.
Wow! Another hit from LA Gallagher and a great follow up to Wreck Me.
I expected to love Caelon. I loved how he loved his wife in Book 1. I did NOT expect to love Ivy even more. She was everything I didn’t know I needed for him. She was a strong, sassy, take-no-prisoners FMC and I need her to be my BF, like yesterday.
Caelon fell faster than I expected him to, which was a welcome surprise. The bumps in the road added to the story and didn’t supply needless drama like in some romances, which I appreciated.
This book follows on from Wreck Me and it exceeds what I was expecting. I would reccomend reading that first, although it's still a brilliant story in its own rights. After losing his wife in a car accident Caelon is a different man. He's doing his best to carry on his work commitments and caring for his children. But even that's not going well, every nanny leaves and now he has to start again with yet another nanny. Ivy hates how her parents and brother smother her, that's why she went to live in America. Now back home in Ireland she's hoping things will be different. Then she she's a stranger in a bar and WOW moody, tortured and haunted has nothing on him yet still he thrills her in more ways than one. That is until her brother walks in and as if that's not bad enough, he's her brother's bestfriend. Starting her new job the day after she's hoping this will prove herself capable without college degree's or prestigious jobs. She's happy being a nanny, until her new boss turns around and of course it had to be him. No No No she can't be my children's nanny not after last night. This is a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat in more ways than one. Can Ivy crack his hard exterior or will he break her spirit. The one thing that surprises me through the story is the Swifty references who'd have thought. Have the tissues ready you'll need them maybe a fan as well because it certainly keeps steamy. I love this series so much and can't wait for the next book as there's still three brothers to go ❤️ ❤️
This was another captivating book by Lyndsey. I really love this series. Caelon is the tortured, grumpy billionaire who mourns his late wife. I really felt sorry for him and what he’s been through. Luckily Ivy came into his life and brought back the laughter and the sunshine. They complete each other so much. The banter with his brothers was funny and I loved their bond with each other. I’m very curious to know who will steal Killian’s heart and who holds a special place in Rian’s heart.
I received a copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The book was so good, they both had such great chemistry and even after they got together I didn’t get bored with their relationship. Both the mmc and fmc are genuinely likeable characters and i loved that they weren’t immature. Didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did, but once I started reading I couldn’t put it down.
Wow! I think Caelon just knocked James off the pedestal!! An amazing follow on story from Wreck Me and a twist in the story I didn't see coming! I can't wait for the other Beckett Brothers stories!
Gallagher has done it again—this book is an absolute masterclass in sexual tension, emotional depth, and toe-curling forbidden romance. From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the fire-and-ice chemistry between Ivy and Caelon. Their dynamic isn’t just hot—it’s combustible.
Ivy is sunshine wrapped in sass, a heroine who refuses to shrink herself to make others comfortable. Watching her waltz into grumpy widower Caelon’s tightly controlled world—and slowly dismantle every wall he’s built—was pure joy. And Caelon? He is the kind of tortured, possessive, morally gray hero romance readers will happily lose sleep over. The way he tries to resist her is delicious. The way he fails is even better.
Their forbidden connection—nanny and boss, brother’s best friend, complete opposites—creates the kind of slow-burn crackling tension that Gallagher is famous for. Every glance, every accidental touch, every moment Caelon’s façade slips had me devouring pages like oxygen. And when the steam hits? It hits. Blush-inducing, heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat perfection.
But beyond the heat, this story has heart. Caelon’s grief and vengeance arc is gripping, and Ivy’s unwavering determination to love him—even when it’s messy, even when it’s dangerous—made their love story feel both epic and intimate. By the time Caelon must choose between revenge and a second chance at life, I was fully invested.
Set against the vivid backdrop of Dublin with interlinking characters fans will love, this book delivers everything: 💥 Grumpy/sunshine banter 💥 Single dad softness 💥 Billionaire possessive vibes 💥 “Touch her and d*e” intensity 💥 Forced proximity sparks 💥 A forbidden, slow-burn romance that goes nuclear
A scorching, emotional, addictive read. Gallagher remains the undisputed queen of tension—and this might be her hottest story yet.
Betty Black and John Lane turn them into a full-body wildfire. Their duet performance is nothing short of explosive, taking Ivy and Caelon’s forbidden, grumpy-sunshine tension and dialing it up to dangerously addictive levels.
Betty Black as Ivy is a revelation—warm, wickedly teasing, and sweet with a razor’s edge. She gives Ivy that perfect blend of sunshine charm and simmering want, delivering every gasp, every breathless laugh, every moment of defiance with a sensual grace that wraps around you and refuses to let go.
John Lane as Caelon? Lord. He is the embodiment of dark, brooding, possessive heat. That gravelly restraint. That low, tortured hunger threading through every word. When he growls? You feel it everywhere. When he breaks? You melt. When he finally gives in? Forget it—your pulse is gone.
Together, Betty and John create chemistry that feels dangerously real. Their push-pull? Magnetic. Their banter? Sparks. Their steamy scenes? Straight-up sinful. This isn’t just narration—it’s performance as foreplay.
And with tropes like: 🔥 Brother’s best friend temptation 🔥 Grumpy widower vs. sunshine nanny 🔥 Billionaire possessiveness 🔥 Single dad softness weaponized into seduction 🔥 Touch-her-and-I-end-you energy 🔥 Forced proximity heat that practically drips off the mic
…Betty and John take an already scorching romance and crank it to a level that should absolutely come with a warning label.
A blistering, addictive duet that will ruin you for other audiobooks. Betty Black and John Lane don’t just tell Ivy and Caelon’s story—they inhabit it, breathe it, and set it on fire.
If you’ve been following my reviews for a while, you’ll know I’ve been gushing about “Wreck Me,” book 1 in the Beckett Brothers series, since I read the ARC. Well, Lyndsey’s done it again: She’s the queen of billionaire romance!
Ladies and gentlemen, the tropes: ❤️Brother's best friend ❤️Single dad trope ❤️Forbidden romance ❤️She's the nanny ❤️Grumpy/sunshine ❤️Forced proximity ❤️Billionaire possessive hero ❤️Dating the boss ❤️Opposites attract ❤️Touch her and d*e vibes ❤️Blush-inducing steam ❤️10 year age gap
Set in Dublin, this is a standalone with interlinking characters from a wider series. You don’t need to read the previous one to read this, though I highly recommend you do!
This one follows the story of Caelon, a recent widow and single dad of two cute tornados, and Ivy, a younger woman, a nanny with the dreams of having a family of her own in the future and reviled by her family because of it. Since they met sparks flew between them, but to add to the mess, she’s his best friend’s little sister. They’re drawn to each other, but Caelon doesn’t think he can open his heart again, not when he’s still trying to avenge the death of his wife.
This story will hook you from the beginning. You won’t want to put it down; it reads fast and has lots of spice. 🌶️ The world-building of their luxurious life will have you turning the pages to find out where their next date will be.
I’m not a big fan of alpha males but with Caelon? I. Ate. It. Up!! It’s so well done that it feels natural for him to be that way—even if trauma has a lot to do with some of his ways.
Ivy is a ray of sunshine, sassy, young, and naive in some ways. It’s great to see her grow, embrace her life desires, and experience the darker realities of this world she hadn’t been faced with before—although she had her own complex past.
Watching their love unfold was heartwarming and hot in equal parts!
The kiddos are also amazing; it was so sweet to see them interact with both Ivy and Caelon, bond, and start to heal from their loss. I was also delighted to read about my babies, a.ka. James and Scarlett from Wreck Me, again; they’ll forever hold my heart.
I can’t wait for Killian’s story, the brother who’s in charge of a high-security company—up next!
5 blazing stars for this one! ★★★★★
Thank you, Lyndsey, for gifting me an ARC of your baby. I feel lucky to have found your stories and you this year! Cheers to many more book babies to come! 🥂
“Where is Nanny McPhee when I need her? Instead, I’m stuck with Nanny McSexy. Nanny McSunshine. Nanny McBestFriend’s F***ingSister.”
“S*x with Tortured is anything but torture. It’s devastating, in the most deliciously debilitating way.”
“Daddy Caelon is definitely a pleasure dom. And as much as I protest, I f***ing love it. Being tied up and teased is my ultimate fantasy and he knows it. He takes me to the brink, backs off, then does it again. And again. And again.”
Caelon and Ivy are so hot!!! Their story starts off with a (finger) bang right off the bat. Then we find out later that Ivy is Caelon’s best friend’s little sister and Caelon’s new nanny!
Ivy is sunshine, warmth and fun, the complete opposite of Caelon after losing his wife. And their nicknames Torture and Tranquil for each other?! Stop!! Perfect depiction of their relationship. But Ivy shines light and warmth back into not only Caelon’s life but his children’s also. And the spice?! My god these Beckett men are so hot!
Tropes: Age Gap Single Dad x Nanny Best Friends Sister Grumpy x Sunshine Billionaire Romance
Book number 2 done, and I loved this one as much if not more than the 1st.
Tortured sounds hot, and his sadness only makes him sound more attractive. What he has dealt with makes me sad, but to know he found some peace was great.
Tranquil sounds like so much fun, and just what tortured and his two gorgeous little people needed. She sounds sexy and sassy but the most kind at the same time. Looking after another persons child is the most precious job anyone can have.
The twist at the end about Cole, and Scarlett - did not see that one coming at all.
Hoping to read a book about Killian soon, and maybe some of the other brothers. Off to download number 3 now. Enjoy this book, I really did. X

More 4 1/2 🌟 We get to see another brother in the Beckett Brothers series in Redeem Me. This one features Caelon and Ivy who are complete opposites. This story has some great tropes, brother’s best friend, age gap, single dad/nanny with plenty of spice set in Ireland. We meet all the brothers in the first book Wreck Me and what a bunch of brothers they are. Redeem Me is full of banter, a range of emotions and Caelon’s kids are adorable. It can be read as a stand alone story however personally I would read Wreck Me first. I received a complementary copy from Booksirens.
There was no way I wasn’t going to love this book because it’s from one of my favourite romance authors but besides that little fact? I WAS HOOKED FROM PAGE ONE! It has the single dad trope so I was immediately sold but then it also said single dad is tall, dark and tortured? I’m a girl of simple tastes and those two tropes on their own already have my entire attention imagine when put together. I loved how they were so different but Ivy made Caelon come out of the dark hole he was in and showed him how life could be good again. She was such a rain of sunshine in his and the kids life. Don’t get me started on the kids, so adorable and cute!! It’s really hard to portray kids accurately but here they were perfect and an amazing part of the book. Do I dare to say this was my favourite? Yes and I know we have a lot more to wait for but James and Scarlett I’m sorry but Caelon and Ivy are just ✨✨✨✨ I still love you though. I can’t wait for Avery and Killian’s story but I do hope to see more of Rian because every time he was there I just laughed so much. The mix of humour, dark themes, spice and romance was perfect!! This entire book now lives rent free in my head.
It was good, the sex was spicy and the kids are adorable. I think I just wanted more yearning, and tension and more of him fighting his emotions because he feels guilty. Still a good boook though, and the twist with who their enemy is, was a good one.
OMG I LOVED THIS!!! Ivy is such an iconic queen I love her so much and I’m loving the found family in this series!!! Caelon is an icon and a legend. The kids were so damm cute too
This is book two in the Beckett brothers series and picks up two years after the end of Wreck Me. Caelon is James’ brother and at the end of Wreck Me his wife was killed in a tragic car accident that wasn’t really an accident. Caelon wants revenge. It’s the only thing that keeps him going day in and day out. That and his two children. He and his kids are struggling and have been through 8 nannies in two years. Enter Ivy. Ivy is hired by the nanny agency to work for Caelon. What no one realizes until she shows up is that she is not only someone Caelon has “met” before, she is also Caelon’s best friend’s little sister. Now she’s off limits twice over. Ivy is tired of being coddled by her family, including her overbearing older brother. She just wants to enjoy what she does and what she wants and not be made to feel bad for it. And what she wants is Caelon. Will Ivy get what she wants? Will Caelon continue on the path of revenge? Or will Ivy help him choose redemption instead? I loved every moment of this book. The struggles that Caelon is dealing with can be felt through the pages and words of LA Gallagher. And when he decides on love? That joy and yet agony could also be felt and experienced. Eagerly waiting on Killian’s story
This is book two in the Beckett Brothers series. It picks up two years after the end of “Wreck Me”. It was nice to see James and Scarlett again and learn about their continued love story. Ivy is the sunshine missing from Caelon and his kids lives. He is tortured by the memory of his dead wife and hell-bent on revenge, sure he will never love again.
Ivy is just what they all need in their lives but can Caelon lay aside his lust for revenge and be the man she needs?
✅ sunshine/ grump ✅ age gap ✅ nanny/ boss ✅ friend’s sister ✅ forbidden love
Thank you Lyndsey for the ARC of this book, I will always devour any book you write. These are my freely given opinions.

Wow—just wow. I don’t even have the words to fully describe how much I loved this book.
Caelon absolutely broke my heart, and you could feel every ounce of love he had for his wife. The kids were perfect, and I adored how Ivy came in and brought light back into all of their lives—without ever trying to replace her.
I’m still obsessed with how interconnected all the brothers are in each other’s stories. This one was so beautifully emotional in showing how broken Caelon was, yet it never felt overly heavy. I still found myself laughing out loud at times.
I’m beyond ready to dive into the rest of the brothers’ books.
4.25/5 - I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first one! I liked the premise of this one better. I loved Caelon, but I also loved Ivy more than I liked the FMC in the first book.
The chemistry was so good between Caelon and Ivy, I loved their story.
Blows my mind when people review books like this and say there was too much smut or they couldn't keep their hands off each other and that's why they give it a poor rating - you need to have some idea about what you're in for before picking it up.
LA Gallagher’s second foray into the magnificent Beckett Brothers, takes us for another scintillating ride in Redeem Me.
Caelon is brooding and intense and welcomes Ivy to the pleazure dom! He’s hurting from the loss of his wife and needs a Nanny for his adorable kids. The fact that he doesn’t know the Nanny is the woman from the bar — and his best friend’s sister… well that just opens up a whole can of complicated.
It’s a lovely story and any time I can read an Irish MMC, I’ll be there with bells on, but this series also has a bit of a mystery that has totally drawn me in.
Read this up and coming author, also known as Lyndsey Gallagher. She keeps getting better and better!
This was a phenomenal book. I was unsure if a book centered on someone who thirsted for revenge would be for me, but the story was well-written and engaging I could not help but fall in love with this book. By falling in love with this book I fell in love with the story of Caelon and Ivy. They are opposites, but their differences and how they overcome them are what make the story so interesting. I love a good grumpy/sunshine trope, not to mention this book was so hot and steamy. This book was thoroughly enjoyable and I am totally on board for more Beckett Brothers. Disclaimer: I received an advanced reader copy for an honest review.
I loved Caelon and Ivy so much! Ivy was the perfect sunshine to Caelon's grump. She was so sweet with his adorable kids, and I loved watching her bring Caelon back to life. Their chemistry was magnetic and off the charts explosive! This book was full of great banter, real emotion, and lots and lots of steam. I didn't want to put it down!
💕"Ivy is my twinkling glimmer of hope at the end of a long and dark, suffocating tunnel." 💕
The semi-cliffhanger at the end of Wreck Me had me counting down the seconds until I could get my hands on this book. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever read a series where a main character dies on page in a previous book — it was shocking, unique, and handled brilliantly. I’m a total sucker for the single dad/nanny trope, and adding the brother’s best friend with a hint of a one-night stand? Absolute perfection. This book had everything I didn’t know I needed, and I could not put it down.
The brother banter alone is worth the read and had me laughing so hard. Their teasing and goading one another never gets old.
Ivy and Caelon’s conversations early in the book felt real. They were vulnerable without being melodramatic — her admitting she needed a friend, him admitting he couldn’t act on his feelings for Ivy after his wife’s death. It was raw and grounded.
The kids adored Ivy from the very first moment, but Caelon was absolutely beside himself — she was the girl from the club, his best friend’s little sister, and the nanny he had already hired. Watching the chaos that followed was hilarious, and the bond Ivy built with the kids was so sweet and heartwarming. The beach scene, in particular, turned into a perfectly chaotic family moment that had me laughing out loud multiple times.
Ivy agreeing to go on a date with Rian and actually following through with it had me giggling. Her and Rian both knew exactly what they were doing. Then Caelon swoops in — claiming her — but Ivy wasn’t satisfied with just that. She told him she wanted to be wanted all the time, not just when he felt threatened. Watching her stand firm in her worth and call Caelon on his wishy washy behavior was *chefs kiss*. I also loved the moment with Isabella’s mom encouraging Caelon. She reminded him that Isabella wouldn’t want him to be alone and unhappy, and it was such a sweet, grounding touch for him. Both scenes were real turning points in the story
One of the best parts of the best friends’ sister trope is watching the big brother inevitably lose his mind. Caelon couldn’t even answer Dermot’s calls because he’d been too busy “eating his kid sister like she’s my favorite dessert and wearing her like she’s my favorite fucking outfit.” This delivered exactly what I hoped for — though Dermot did land a few low blows, figuratively and literally.
The third act conflict left me....conflicted. I get Ivy’s point that violence isn’t the answer, but some things are bigger than your comfort zone. She overreacted a bit, in my opinion — it wasn’t really her choice to make. If Sean felt he needed to protect his family, she could’ve let it go and dealt with the fallout.
Overall…another fantastic Beckett brother. Steamy, funny, and packed with heart. This book hit all the right notes, and I loved every chaotic, flirty, perfect minute of it.
Set against the energy of Dublin, this story blends grief, heat, unexpected tenderness, and a flirtation that becomes much more dangerous than either character plans for. The emotional pull is undeniable: a widower with a past that refuses to stay buried, a heroine determined to carve out her own future, and a simmering connection that threatens to break every rule they've sworn to uphold. The book leans into intensity, family loyalty, and a romance charged with equal parts friction and desire.
The Story
Ivy Winters needs a fresh start, and stepping into the Beckett household as a nanny gives her exactly that. She’s handled every kind of tiny tyrant over the years, yet nothing prepares her for Caelon: her brother’s best friend, a widower carrying enough shadows to darken an entire city block. He’s cold, stubborn, and a walking occupational hazard. But beneath the frost sits a man who burns far too bright. Their proximity sparks a chemistry that refuses to stay contained, even when they both know it could set off a family-level explosion. When Caelon’s past resurfaces, their fragile connection is thrust into a storm that forces him to choose between vengeance and redemption.
What I Loved
✔️ The Irish accents in the duet narration are absolutely flawless; Betty Black and John Lane bring their characters to life with a richness that makes the story immersive. ✔️ Ivy’s personality shines; she’s bold, witty, and refuses to bend to Caelon’s brooding mood swings. ✔️ Caelon delivers peak tortured, possessive, morally gray energy in a way that keeps the tension high and addictive. ✔️ The Beckett brothers’ banter is comedy gold and had me laughing out loud more than once. ✔️ The emotional beats land well, mixing heat with genuine heart. ✔️ A strong standalone vibe while still rewarding readers familiar with the series.
Narration 🎧
The duet performance is simply outstanding. Betty Black and John Lane not only nail the dynamics but elevate the story with natural Irish accents that feel authentic and warm. Their delivery adds humor, grit, and emotional weight where needed. The accents alone deserve a salute.
Tropes & Vibes
✔️ Brother’s best friend ✔️ Forbidden romance ✔️ Forced proximity ✔️ Billionaire possessive hero ✔️ Dating the boss ✔️ Touch-her-and-die energy ✔️ High-level steam ✔️ Grumpy x sunshine ✔️ Emotional healing with danger in the background
Final Thoughts
This second installment in the Beckett Brothers series stands strong as its own story, though reading the first book definitely enhances the experience. While the previous book hit slightly harder for me, Redeem Me still delivers everything you expect from a grumpy Irish widower and a heroine with enough spark to set the entire house ablaze. It’s steamy, heartfelt, often funny, and full of the kind of character dynamics that make this family so compelling. A great addition to the series, and a must-listen for fans of intense, possessive heroes paired with fierce, radiant heroines.
