The alien barbarian comes for a princess, but abducts me instead. When aliens try to kidnap my boss, the crown princess, I get a spark of genius and pretend that I am her instead. What’s the worst that could happen? Get trapped in a spaceship with an ice barbarian king determined to make me his queen—that’s what.
I have every right to be mad at him, to hate him, yet with each passing moment in his presence, I find myself less and less able to resist him. He’s tall and blue, with a very large...endowment, and his hair has a life of its own. I can’t help but turn into putty under his touch.
As the spaceship approaches the alien planet, I discover that my abductor isn’t quite the barbarian he appears to be. He shows me the real him, and I think I love what I see. But the question is, can I tell him who I really am? And if I do, will he still want me?
Rhys Wilder is a hopeless romantic who loves happily-ever-afters on the primal side.
Which would explain why he loves writing them.
When he’s not passionately typing out his next book, you can find him cuddling his dog, feeding his husband, or taking long walks letting those plot bunnies breed ferociously in his head.
He writes MF monster & alien romances as Rhys Wilder.

If you need a great palate cleanser, this is it. Low on drama and tons of either funny or sweet moments.
Our MMC, Thundar, will have you back and forth on wanting to smack him upside the head, and absolutely adoring him. Our FMC, Lottie, is not who Thundar thinks she is… but that doesn’t keep her from giving him all of her sass, opinions, and backbone.
The spice was plentiful, but nothing very kinky or intense.
Rhys Wilder and Linari Dax’s alien stories are pretty addictive. The latest, “Taken By the Barbarian,” is short and shmutty—the makings of a perfect palette cleanser or quickly something to get readers out of one of those awful slumps.
Thundar is a big blue and incredibly handsome alien clad in only a tiny covering––that attempts to cover a larger area. He takes Lottie, believing her to be his princess, and she goes along with it because why not?
At only about 91 pages, readers can expect a fast-paced, spicy, insta-lust-packed story, which I enjoyed.
Thank you, Quirky Chimera Media, for the gifted advance reader copy of “Taken by the Barbarian King” by Rhys Wilder. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thundar sends his best friend to liberate Princess Alexandria but oops he grabbed her assistant
Lottie was trying to protect her Princess when the blue Barbarians arrived. Poor Lottie didn't correct the kidnappers because she was doing her duty. Things spiral out of control but Lottie and Thunder are drugged into a passionate isolation. When Lottie final confessed her real name things get heated. Naturally Lottie has Thunder under her spell and when she cussed him out in front of his mother all is out right. Lots of heart, passion and oh so much hair!
If you read the blurb, then that's it. Not much of a story going on here. I didn't care for the heroine's banter. More of a lust story than a love story!
It’s a good story, it was entertaining and the smut was nice, if you ignore that a lot of it was under the influence of an aphrodisiac she didn’t consent to consume. She raised the issue, but he didn’t seem to understand why that was wrong, and the whole thing was dismissed and never brought up again. That kinda put a stain on the story for me.
