The dreams I had for us are shattered around me. Nothing in the five years since we first met and fell in love has been easy, but it was supposed to be getting better. They promised me again and again.
Once this year is over, we can be together.
Once it’s safe.
Once high school is over.
Once we have jobs.
Once we graduate from college.
I’ve waited and they’re out of excuses for keeping us apart. My feelings for each of them never wavered, but maybe theirs did. Maybe the idea of the six of us being together was a childish fantasy. Maybe they feel out of love with me.
The not knowing is what’s killing me, and I’m done living my life on pause but nothing could have prepared me for what they were hiding. It’s now or never, we face things together or I walk away. Alone.
Their story isn't quite over. Continue this why choose romance today!
Okay yeah that was crazy. Crazy shit to happen in book 10 of a series. These bitches really pissed me off. Especially Vince. And yeah, Avalon, too.
We find out Vince slept with someone during their year apart (they were all separated bc the AS was hunting them and they were supposedly safer this way). During their week in the summer that they can all meet up, Luca spills the beans that Vince had a one-night stand after finding out some disappointing news about college. That was brutal to find out, but apparently before they all parted ways a year prior, Avalon told them she didn’t expect them to be faithful??? Hello??? Are you dumb? If you know one of them doing that would crush you, why on earth would you say it to begin with? The way she went about it was wrong and confusing, but Vince’s dumbass should not have done it if he thought he could act normal with Avalon afterwards. AND THEN he basically ghosts her and the rest of the guys, and MOVES ON with other women. BRO. You don’t even officially break up, just distance yourself and MOVE ON?? What a dumbass, no wonder he wasn’t getting into school without an athletic scholarship 😭😭😭 then Avalon goes to him 3 years later to try and get him back, and they sleep together before she finds out that he “moved on”. If you let me sleep with you before making it clear there were other women, I’m cutting your wiener off. Ugh. He really disappointed me. Especially when I think back to earlier books when they first met and became close. This is how you treat the person you supposedly love? Then Avalon goes home and still misses him and wants him to reach out……. GIRL. Luca was so right to be like, you need to focus on me and Gavin, we’re the only two that are consistently here!! Like, tell her!! I hope she grows a backbone in the next book, but idk. I doubt we’ll see Vince grovel or anything. Avalon doesn’t consider what he did cheating……. OH BROTHER
Fucks sake, I’m just glad Sky, Gavin, and Luca had a brain. Noah dipped out for years too. But at least he was loyal!!
Can’t believe we get all this angst toward the end of the series when the first several books didn’t have this kind of romantic emotional drama. Ugh. But I’ve come this far. I must finish it out. But yeah, no, this has ruined reread potential.

This was a really shocking book. Years after Ave and her guys being shipped off to Drexel, I was do shocked to see how things played out. It's actually kind of really realistic to explore how high school romances don't always last. The 6 were torn apart for years, and one guy cheated within the first year! I was not expecting cheating and it really needed a trigger because I am not ok with cheating. By the time they were finally allowed to be together after 3 years apart 2 guys had ghosted them and a third decided to stay when one was tracked down on the other side of the world. The other one was so cold and cruel when Ave found him and basically said him ghosting her should have shown he was over and he'd moved in with other girls. The whole book was so hard to read especially as cheating and separations are a massive trigger for me. So whilst it's one of the most realistic and genuine continuations, I was not prepared to go from a sweet friends to lovers YA love story to a very grown up (soooo much spice!! Finally!!) and heartbreakingly sad and miserable story.
Finally we're growing up. The harem is still a mess and full of angst due to being forced to separate. This book goes from 17 to 21? Much better than the previous set that were each about one month. The writing style also shows maturity and growth. There are lots of unexplained plot holes, but that may be due to all the time jumps.
I loved the first nine books and was surprised when a tenth book came out. This went no where near what I thought would happen. I need the next book now!!
