Really questionable.

Ugh. Not even going to try to read anything past the prologue in this one!
I don't consider any of this to be spoilers since it all happens in the prologue and I'm assuming is meant to set up the rest of the book. Below is copied from an e-mail I sent to a friend who I knew would have the exact same problems with this story as I did, so I could warn her not to read it. And here's why...
In the prologue a male vampire (I'm assuming he's going to be the hero based on the set up) in the past, which is probably his early years as a vampire, does not one, but two, of the unforgiveable deeds.
First he mind rapes a young woman into thinking he's "safe." Then he takes her back to his home and physically rapes her (and she was a virgin on top of that), right before he accidentally kills her. The kill was pretty obviously accidental, but the events leading up to that were NOT. Though, the set up was the "beast" inside him (ie. the vampire part of him) is still too strong for him to fight the urges of it. And since it's the prologue I'm assuming it's intended to show how this event emotionally scarred him before he meets his "soul mate" in the present day and make his growth as a character trackable.
Still, even knowing that's probably the intent, I can't bring myself to finish the book because of the double rape thing. I don't care what the authors who use this plot device think, IT IS NEVER NEVER NEVER OK TO DO THIS!
Even if the character I'm assuming will be the hero in the book actually turns out NOT to be so, I still will not be continuing this one!

I was a bit put off in the beginning of the story. Griffin seemed like such a jerk. But it did get better. These books are a bit more erotica than story so I tend to skim it a bit to get to the story. It did get interesting in the last few chapters.

Two pages in and this was so sketchy I couldn't go any further. Hero abducts heroine to sex her up up...creepy stalker much?! Then turns out he did it because she looks like someone else. Yeah the creep factor was just too much for me. Dnf
