IF YOU THOUGHT FLORIDA WAS WEIRD ENOUGH ALREADY, BUCKLE UP. YOU’RE IN FOR A HELL OF A RIDE.
There are eight employee elevators in the Arlington Building in downtown Tampa. The ninth is the freight elevator, used for moving office supplies and furniture between the building’s eighteen floors.
There is something seriously wrong with Elevator 9.
For Jill Blake, the strangeness begins on the first day of her new job at Arlington, Inc., when she uses the elevator to get to a meeting for which she’s late, and it briefly takes her to a strange, completely deserted version of the Arlington Building. When Jill tells her new friend Annie Wolfe about the experience, Annie is fascinated; clearly, there’s something extremely weird going on in the Arlington Building, and the gruff and intimidating head of security seems to know much more than he’s letting on.
Strange events begin to multiply. A bizarre alien landscape appears on a colleague’s computer monitor. Security guard Tony O’Brien hears a disembodied voice calling for help from inside the elevator shaft. When he opens the doors, he sees a shaft that appears to go on forever in both directions. And a strange figure in a spacesuit emerges from the elevator – a figure which can only be seen by the security cameras...
What is the secret of Elevator 9? Is it a glitch in reality? A doorway to another dimension? An attempt at contact by something incomprehensible beyond space and time? Jill, Annie and Tony vow to discover the truth. They can only hope it won’t destroy them or drive them insane when they do.
