Icy roads and one too many shots of tequila don't mix... At 19 almost nobody has their life figured out. This was especially the case for Haven Grace Moore, a job, the possibility of college, life in general, not one thing made sense. Luckily, or unluckily depending on how she looks at it, Haven doesn't get the chance to figure any of it out. After accidentally travelling into a mysterious fae realm she had no idea existed, Haven is forced to confront issues that not even her wildest imagination could have come up with. Her parents lies, secrets she never expected to learn like the actual reason behind her fathers death, an entire race of fae the once lived amongst humans and were all but forced way, a crown she not sure she's strong enough to take that comes with someone who very much does not want her taking it and lastly, a dangerous man that brings out her dirtiest thoughts and deepest desires. Grappling with all of this does not come easily, Especially when you factor in the fact that she is not even human, and never was. The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows is the riveting first installment of Lillie Jean Andrews' debut fantasy series, Of Passions and Thrones. Expect danger, mystery, betrayal and sinful passion as Haven fights herself and others to take her rightful place as queen.
The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows is a solid start to a new fantasy series. It has an intriguing world, a morally grey love interest, and a heroine trying to make sense of her chaotic life. While some parts felt a little rushed or familiar, there's enough mystery and drama to keep you turning the pages. Curious to see where Haven’s journey goes next.
Book Review: The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadow by Lillie Jean Andrews Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
When I first signed up for the ARC of The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadow, I was genuinely excited and couldn’t wait to dive into it. The blurb promised mystery, magic, fae realms, and a heroine caught in the whirlwind of fate—and that’s exactly the kind of story I usually love. But I’ll be completely honest: the beginning was rough for me.
After just a couple of chapters, I found myself struggling to get into the flow. The world-building and character introductions felt a bit overwhelming and I had trouble connecting with the story. I kept trying, even if it was just a chapter a day, but it didn’t quite click. I even debated DNF-ing it. But something told me this story had potential, so I pushed through.
And I’m so glad I did.
Around the 35% mark, something shifted. Suddenly the plot started to pull me in, the characters became more vibrant, and I found myself genuinely invested. The pacing picked up, the tension rose—both romantically and plot-wise—and I was hooked. What began as a slow, uncertain read quickly turned into a gripping, adventurous ride full of magic, secrets, and yes, some really great spice.
Haven is a compelling main character, and I loved watching her grow into her strength. Her dynamic with Nik brought just the right amount of tension and heat, and the side characters added richness to the world. Once the story found its footing, it really shined with unique lore, emotional depth, and an intriguing blend of action, romance, and mystery.
You can truly feel how much love, effort, and detail Lillie Jean Andrews poured into this debut. From the lush fae world to the emotionally layered characters, this book became a memorable journey that I’m glad I stuck with.
I’d definitely recommend The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadow to fantasy lovers who enjoy strong heroines, magical realms, fae politics, slow-burn tension, and a hint of forbidden love. It’s a promising start to what I hope will be an incredible series—and I can’t wait to see where Haven’s story goes next.
I will be honest, I have been doubting for a long time how should I rate this book. It was good, that’s why I stuck with the initial rating, but I just don’t feel strongly enough about it. Which is a bit sad considering I can see a lot of potential in the story. First of all, I really liked the characters. They were quite diverse and with deep storylines, which made me enjoy the story. I also liked the world building, but I would love to know more about it, as it seemed a bit under explained. Same goes for the plot, it was good, and I even found the final plot twist very unexpected (which is very rare and appreciated in my case), but I still feel like only the surface of the story was told. I had a bit of problems with the writing style. The first couple of chapters felt like starting facts rather than telling a story (which I’m actually very prone to, and maybe that’s why I noticed it so much). I was also a bit confused with the genre and tropes, the story gave off YA vibes right until certain scenes which explained its NA classification, but it felt like different parts of the story were meant for completely different audiences. Moreover, the enemies to lovers trope that was supposed to appear never happened, I don’t think MCs were enemies at any point of the story. And, lastly, maybe it’s just not the final version, or maybe it’s some grammar trick I haven’t heard of, but there were no apostrophes to signify possession, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable if I’m being honest. Maybe it had a deeper meaning, like Normal People and its lack of quotation marks, but I’m just not a fan of this kind of thing. Other than that, I do genuinely believe that the story has a lot of potential and will have a good reaction from many readers. My comments here are more suggestions than any serious criticism, and I’d love to hear what others think about the story!
Thank you SunnyBabePR and Lillie Jean Andrews for the ARC!
I really enjoyed The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows! It started off a bit slow, but the character development made the second half so worth it. The world-building and story really picked up, and I’m excited to continue the series with Book 2!
This was quite an interesting world to dive into for a bit! Haven doesn’t know who she is because her parents wanted her to experience a normal life, until her and Roman end up in the land of the fae. (The twist with him I didn’t see coming!) It took me a bit to get into the story but the dynamic between Nik and Haven is spicy fun! 3.5/5 ⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars for me on this one! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~You’re a regular girl, figuring out life, navigating senior year and what lies beyond. Then suddenly everything you know changes and everyone in your life was lying to you.~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This book has some fantastic potential, and although it felt slightly under developed for my liking, I thought the adventure part of the plot was there non the less! We get see Haven (our FMC) travel from the human world into a fantasy world; that she has to figure out how to navigate. She finds her friends and people she can trust along the way. The fantasy aspect of this book is rather magical. Spells, salves, and elemental magic to boot. This is a fun immersive read you can get lost in. 🗡️Fantasy 🗡️Found powers 🗡️ Magical✨ 🗡️Found love & friends 🗡️LGBTQ friendly🏳️🌈 —————————————— ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ **Potential Spoilers for love interest** ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ While I didn’t think her and Nik (our MMC) were honestly necessarily ever actual enemies to lovers… I did think that I enjoyed some of the spice aspects in this book. First off~ HUGE bonus points to Nik for this quote here: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “He told her, “You have every right to make the decisions about your body as you see fit. You could tell me you'd slept with over a hundred different people and my opinion of you would never change.””- The Last Daughter Of Smoke and Shadows, Andrews. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Second: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Nik landed back on top of Haven, kissing her mouth fiercely. The feel of his cock trapped between them had spasms shooting down Havens legs. Widening her legs, Haven grinded against him, spreading her wetness and earning a loud groan from Nik.”- The Last Daughter Of Smoke and Shadows, Andrews. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay that’s it. I’m kidding😂 But as a book boyfriend, Nik could get it. He was protective and sweet. In the grand scheme of things he really wasn’t an asshole.
This NA romantasy has left me so excited for the rest of the series! Lillie Jean Andrews has created a beautiful world with amazing characters that take you on a journey. The first of three books, this book was easy to follow, well paced, and full of intrigue. The main romance of the story, while described as enemies to lovers, is a bit more complicated than enemies, but unfolds with heat and spice.
Haven has just discovered she may come from a royal lineage and finds herself thrown into the world of the fae. Lillie wrote her character with such humanity, as I could easily relate to her anxiety and skepticism of the world she just found herself in. As she discovers more about herself and her heritage, the growth we begin to see makes her captivating and fierce. I am excited to see where her character goes from this journey in the next two books.
Nik is already familiar with the fae world that Haven has been thrown into. Amidst an instant attraction there are secrets and political intrigue that causes him to be standoffish and conflit to ensue between our two MCs. Of course this tension adds a layer to their romance that grabs hold of readers and sets up a wonderful dynamic between the two. As we learn more and more about Nik and where his heart truly lies, it compels the storyline forward.
The world that Lillie has created in this book is easy to imagine, fall in love with, and become lost within. As the plot line continues to progress, the intrigue continues to grow and deepen, secrets are revealed that make loyalties be questioned, and the power dynamic of this fae realm on the cusp of tilting. Yes, I ate up the romance, but more than that, I loved the female empowerment throughout the story about a girl grabbing onto her destiny and not letting anything stand in her way to obtain it.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 🔥Found Family 🏹Shadow Magic 🔥LGBTQ Rep 🏹Virgin MMC 🔥He Falls First 🏹Dislike to Lovers 🔥Mental Health Rep
The characters had some growth to them throughout the book and it had a nice amount of information on the world without being overwhelming. We do get a lot of information at first on the royal families when Haven first gets into the world, so that was a little hard to keep straight in the beginning.
Haven and Nik have some VERY spicy moments and their growing affection for each other was cute to watch. The book takes place over the span of a few months which I liked because then it wasn't an insta love thing. I also LOVED that Haven is Bisexual and even had an interaction with a female here...cue the jealousy of Nik and some air magic...
I enjoyed the growth of Haven as she got to explore her magic, learn to fight, and learn history. It really helped to cement her into her new role instead of just being thrown into it and expecting she'll know what to do.
I do wish that the magic was explored more. I love shadow powers and it isn't often there's a female with them! Hopefully she gets to use them more in the next book! I think there were a few things in this book not fully fleshed out or explained rapidly and then never mentioned again. I also didn't like that Haven was 19, but still in high school. I know it was the set up for the field trip to the woods so she could enter the Fae lands, but it set me in the mindset that she is a high school student and then got very spicy. I just pretended in my head that we never heard about the high school stuff.
I'm very interested to read the next book and see how things shake out.

Thank you to the author for a free copy of this book. My thoughts are entirely my own.

Plot 3/5 Characters 3.5/5 Ending 3/5 Interest 3/5
Overall 3/5
-The first thing that I really took notice of in this book was the writing style. Unfortunately it didn’t really work with me. I felt like it was very matter of factly and just explaining a series of events to someone and not truly telling a story. It was very this happened, and then this and then that. I didn’t feel like the words flowed together to weave a tale. It feels quite amateur. Other than that, the plot was interesting but the writing style really took me out of it.
-First of all, I have to admit that I liked Roman, he was very sweet but I felt like he was unnecessary. He was there when Haven needed him but other than that, nothing much about his life, backstory, kingdom or anything. Additionally, Haven had a life before being brought into the far realm but other than talking about her mother sometimes and writing her letters which also felt kind of forced and unnecessary. But her friends and other? Nothing about them. Other than those aspects, the characters themselves were kind of 2 dimensional because of the writing style. Plus, their relationship was not at all what I really enjoy. Enemies to lovers but lust at first sight, so they never really were enemies. He tried to make her hate him but I don’t really get why? They could have just communicated and it would have been easier.
-The ending is left on a good note, meaning it leaves enough curiosity to want to continue. But, if the writing style doesn’t really change, I don’t think I’ll want to continue reading this. Writing this a few days later, that’s all I really remember about the ending, he’s gone, she’s crowned, what’s going to happen? We don’t really know.

Review: a book that leaves you panting for more. A mystical world with unusual magic that has been lost and found. The characters make you want to love them one minute and wrap you hands around their necks the next. The passion and determination the Heroine has is immeasurable. To accept what is thrown at you and just going with it. Believing in something that shouldn’t exist, but knowing with all your heart that it is real. That you are wanted and loved by most of your people, and hated and feared by the rest. A fantastic read and ready for the next.
Thank you to @sunnybabepr and @authorlilliejeanandrews for sending me this book for the opportunity to review it!
The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows by Lillie Jean Andrews completely swept me off my feet. From the very first page, I was drawn into a richly imagined world that felt dark, magical, and hauntingly real. The world building is intricate without ever being overwhelming, and the way Andrews weaves in lore, politics, and atmosphere is nothing short of masterful.
The character development is just as brilliant — every character feels fully fleshed out, their motivations clear, their arcs meaningful. I was especially blown away by the FMC, Haven. She is the epitome of resilience, showing incredible strength both physically and mentally throughout the book. Her growth was inspiring, and I found myself constantly rooting for her.
The relationships — both romantic and platonic — are heartwarming and beautifully written. They’re the kind that sneak up on you, quietly becoming one of your favourite parts of the story. The chemistry, the trust-building, the small moments… it all felt so real and tender.
And let’s talk about the mystery — what is happening?! I was hooked, constantly questioning who to trust and what would happen next. The twists were clever and genuinely surprising, keeping the stakes high without ever feeling convoluted.
The pacing is absolutely spot-on. Every scene felt necessary, every chapter left me wanting more. I was fully immersed, devouring page after page because I had to know what would happen next.
This book is a total standout in the fantasy genre — gripping, emotional, and full of heart. I’ll definitely be picking up book two the moment it’s out. Lillie Jean Andrews has gained a fan for life!
Trigger warnings: spicy scenes, FMC struggles with depression, MC has history of abuse that is talked about
The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows by Lillie Jean Andrews is a New Adult Romantic fantasy. This is book 1 in Of Passions and Thrones series. This book contains tropes such as Shadow Magic, Fae, Enemies to lovers, Mental Health Rep, Found Family, He falls first and Betrayal.
This book follows Haven as she is thrown into a fae world she knows nothing about. Her parents never told her about being fae because all they wanted for her was a normal life. To go to school, attend prom and learn how to drive, just normal human things. While on a school trip Haven and Roman accidently traveled to a fae world where their lives changed forever.
This was a bit of a long fantasy but with easy world building. We follow Haven along side Roman and Nik. Haven is the badass MFC but still so young and naïve. Nik is the morally grey character that does everything is his power for Haven to hate him. Roman was a bit of as mystery in the beginning and I hope we get POVs for him in the future. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. The story was easy to read and to understand. Things were just a bit too easy for Haven. She didn’t really struggle to use magic for example. This read like a YA fantasy but with smut.
I hope there is more character development and more maturity from the characters in the next book. Although the character were 19 they felt a lot younger. I loved the magic and hope we get to see more. I am looking forward to seeing Haven’s friendship grow with Delroy as well as to see where this is all going. I am so excited to read the next book in the series.
Thank you Sunny Babe PR and Lillie Jean Andrews for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review .
I want to thank Sunny Babe PR and Lillie Jean Andrews for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC! 🫶🏻
The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows is a NA Romantasy and the first book in the ‘Of Passion and Thrones’ series. It focuses on 19 year old Haven who stumbles into the Fae Realm with her classmate, Roman, during an incident at her high school field trip. As they journey through this alternate world, they unravel mysteries and secrets about themselves that changes their lives forever.
I really enjoyed this one — it was unique, poignant and exhilarating 🙌🏻. I loved Andrews’ take on Haven’s process of becoming a fae queen, and how it differs from many of the fae-related stories I’ve read. The narrative did start off a little slow, but the pacing picked up a lot afterwards which got me hooked like crazy!
I’m absolutely OBSESSED with Haven and Nikolas; their interactions were definitely spicy and sensual to say the least 🤭🔥!! I also loved many of the other characters, especially Delroy — he’s often serious but can be spunky and silly too! 😑🤪
ALSO, can we talk about that ending??!! I need book 2 as soon as possible because I have so many questions that need to be answered!! 🤯🫨
If you like: ✨ Elemental magic ✨ Shadow magic ✨ Enemies to lovers ✨ He falls first ✨ Fae ✨ Queer romance ✨ Found friends
definitely check out The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows! ✨
Thank you SunnyBabePR and Lillie Jean Andrews for this ARC!
This book offers a compelling escape into a world filled with fae, magic, and royal intrigue! I was drawn in instantly by the intriguing premise.
The story starts strong with our FMC, Haven, discovering a hidden fae realm and her potential royal lineage. Haven’s initial skepticism and anxiety make her a relatable character as she navigates this new world. The author creates a detailed and believable fae realm with its history, rules, and power dynamics. The plot moves at a good pace, keeping readers engaged and eager to discover what happens next.
One of my favorite parts is the romance which is a complicated enemies-to-lovers story between Haven and Nik, marked by intense attraction and political obstacles. Nik’s avoidance and secrets create tension and conflict that kept me intrigued. The forbidden love, physical attraction, and external threats drives the plot well. Their relationship is uncertain due to Nik’s actions and the looming dangers, making it a compelling, albeit angsty, element of the story.
This book is a worthwhile read for fans of fantasy and paranormal romance. The intriguing premise, relatable protagonist, and well-developed world make it a solid four-star read.
If you like: 🧚🏻♀️ Romantasy 🌫️ Fae Realm In Trouble 🗡️ Enemies to Lovers ✨ Secret Identity 🧚🏻♀️ He Falls First 🌫️ Found Family 🗡️Mental Health Rep …Then this is a book for you!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ate this up- it was a slow start, but it soon got going, I loved the magical elements, world building, character growth and ofcourse all that tension between our FMC and MMC, followed by the perfect sweet amount of spice🌶️
We follow our FMC Haven, who after struggling following the death of her Father is thrown into a magical Fae world, she knows nothing about, and suddenly has her whole life turned upside down when she finds the long hidden truths about her family and herself…
Here she has the twists and turns, of coming into her magic, her training, the eventuality of claiming her throne and keeping her Kingdoms from War… throw in the found family, spicy tension with a brooding morally grey prince, and his dark evil father literally planning her 💀 into the mix, and you have an action packed Fantasy romance with secrets, betrayal, shadow magic and romantic tension.
Great start to this new adult fantasy romance series, I’m very excited for book 2, with how this one ended, Haven and Nic both had good character growth throughout, and I loved the side characters too.. I’m ready to see Haven kick some a$$ in the next instalment and be the bomb Queen she was born to be❤️🔥👑
“You feel like the heat of the sun after a rainy day, like the cool of a lake after hours of training. You feel like a run through the woods, like freedom and happiness.”

Title: The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows Where I Read: ARC via @sunnybabepr and @authorlilliejeanandrews . The RayView: ✨✨✨✨ The HeatRay: 💥 How It Be Spicin’?: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ . Haven had an entire future to look forward to - a choice of college, finding work, and hardest of all how to go into adulthood without her father and filled to the brim with anxiety. Deciding to set everything aside and enjoy her birthday weekend at her senior field trip with fellow classmates, she tries her hardest to enjoy every second. That is until she tumbles off the cliff side with Roman, a fellow student, and while trying to get back to camp they instead fall into an entirely different realm. The fae realm. Suddenly Haven’s told she’s not actually an ordinary human but is actually a fae royal and now she’s tossed into a society she’s only read about in fantasy novels before. Navigating politics, culture, and her own emotions, is Haven able to take her rightful place amongst her people? . Honesty time: This novel had a very slow start, in my opinion. It felt very mundane, day to day type pace. I almost put it down entirely. But the appearance of Nik had me itching to know what in the bajeebus his damn problem was. 😂 So I stuck with it and boy did it drag me in in that second half. I wasn’t able to put it down. And to warn you, it has a cliffhanger ending that had me screaming. 👀 Thank you Sunny Babe PR for sending me a copy of this book!
I'd like to thank @sunnybookbabespr and @authorlilliejeanandrews for receive an Arc of Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows.
5🌟
I absolutely loved reading this book. I did feel that it took a few chapters for me to really settle into the story however with the world building and setting the background up it makes sense as to why it was built up slowly.
I really enjoy reading books that have their own world and I really liked how this combined human worlds as well as Fae worlds, I feel that it was done and described very well and incorporated into the story in a different way to what I have previously read in other books containing Fae lands.
I felt that there was a bit of everything in this book to keep me hooked and wanting more, there was love, tension, suspense and a load of action too. Even with the time lapses that occurred I felt that they were done well and didn't affect the story or make it feel rushed in any way.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, I loved the characters including Haven, Nik and Roman and how they all intertwined with each other. I am really excited to see where the next book takes them all.
Oh wow. I truly, truly loved this book. I received this book from Sunny Babe PR and I am so very grateful to be an ARC reader for this book. I had a bit of a slow start trying to read this, but once I really got into it I was engaged and couldn’t put it down. This book takes you into The Fae Realm where our protagonist learns that she is to be the queen of not one, but two kingdoms. This book has magic, betrayal, some spicy scenes, and leaves you on the edge needing to know what happens next. I absolutely adored the main characters as well as the side characters. Everyone had a role to play and no detail was put into paper without a purpose. The plot line was perfect, I was pulled into this world that Lillie Jean Andrews had brought to life. It’s a book that although I was satisfied with this installment, I was so not ready for it to be over. I am thrilled to read more of this world and find out what happens next. 5/5 I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys the magic of other worlds, kingdoms, and forbidden love.

I recently finished reading "The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows" by Lillie Jean Andrews, and I truly enjoyed it. The book offers an easy reading experience with straightforward world-building, making it accessible to readers. The story follows a young girl who is unexpectedly transported to the fae realm, where she discovers she is the long-lost monarch they've been waiting for. The protagonist starts off quite naive, but throughout the narrative, she undergoes significant growth and learning. I was particularly impressed by how the author addresses mental health issues in the book. The main character faces anxiety and depression, and the portrayal of these struggles is both thoughtful and realistic. The romance in the story unfolds as a slow burn, complemented by just the right amount of spice. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a new book. It’s currently available on Kindle Unlimited. A huge thank you to Sunny Babe PR for providing the gifted copy in exchange for my honest review!
This book was a really fun read. Following FMC Haven who was born and raised in the human realm, who stumbles into the fae realm on a senior year camping trip, but what Haven thought to be accidental, could actually be where she belonged the whole time. The book follows her journey from an unsure self conscious anxious teenager to a strong young woman with more power than she knows, she just has to find it inside her.
This book was a wonderful read and somewhere in the middle I was absolutely hooked and I couldn’t put it down. I love the complex relationship and emotions between Haven and MMC Nik, with their story just scratching the surface for most of the book. The story still has a lot of unanswered questions leading perfectly into the next book with a twist at the end that has left me hanging. Well done Lillie on what I am sure is going to be a great series. If you like stories of self discovery, a little bit of mystery, a little bit of spice, and are a fan of a nice easy read, this book is a great choice!
The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadows is an impressive debut that kicks off a romantasy series full of magic, danger, and seriously swoony moments. Lillie Jean Andrews blends the allure of the fae with a richly imagined world, striking a great balance between immersive world-building and fast-paced storytelling.
The romance between Haven and Nik? Adorably sweet and very spicy. Their chemistry leaps off the page, and watching their bond grow against a backdrop of fae politics and high-stakes danger had me totally hooked. If you love a slow-burn with a payoff (and steam!), you’re in for a treat.
The world itself is easy to get into—detailed enough to feel real but never overwhelming—making this a perfect pick for both seasoned fantasy readers and those newer to the genre. With court intrigue, secrets, and just enough mystery to keep you turning pages, this is a strong start to what promises to be a binge-worthy series.
I already can’t wait for book two!
Thank you to Sunny Babe PR and Lillie Jean Andrews for my ARC review copy in exchange for this honest review.
The book starts off a bit slow, but the pacing picks up in the second half, making up for the initial lull. Haven was an interesting FMC, and watching her grow into her powers and position was incredibly satisfying. However, her quick acceptance of certain things didn’t quite align with her personality, which left her reaction feeling a bit discordant. One of my biggest issues was the lack of clarity when switching POVs between chapters, which caused some confusion during the transitions. I also wish we had seen more of Nik, as the glimpses of his POV added depth to the story, and I’m curious to learn more about his role in everything. Despite these minor flaws, I’m excited to see how the series progresses with all the loose ends left in this book.
Tropes Include: Secret/Hidden Identity Realm in Trouble He Falls First Dislike to Lovers
Thank you to SunnyBabePR for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
This is the first book in a new series by Lillie Jean Andrews and it was a beautiful start. The character building and world building has been so beautiful throughout this first book, that I know it’s just going to be better in the second book!
This book follows Haven an almost 19 year old human girl who finds herself stumbling into the fae realm while on a school trip. When Haven enters this fae realm she is instantly faced with a lot of challenges and interactions that have her questioning her past, present, future, friends, and family.
Lillie Jean Andrews did such an incredible job of writing a story that includes characters with depth, magic, spice, deception, and love. I love a good fantasy and boy was this good!! I cannot wait to see where this story goes.
Thank you Sunny Babe PR and Lillie Jean Andrews for an e-copy for this book in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
I was gifted this book by SunnyBabesPR and I’m so glad I was. I loved following Havens journey as she discovers who she is and learns to deal with the trials and tribulations of living in a Fae World.
I absolutely adored the chemistry between her and Nik, it builds really nicely and the spicy scenes are just the right amount for me personally!
The author has built a beautiful kingdom with her words and it’s really easy to imagine the world we are being told about. All of the characters are really interesting too; there isn’t one character I didn’t want to know more about.
There were some ‘oh my goodness 😱’ moments too and you gotta love that!
Overall I really enjoyed this and I hope there is more to come!

The Last Daughter of Smoke and Shadow was a unique story that caught my attention because it’s not like any other I have read. The story is about a young lady, figuring out who she is and where she came from. Finally getting answers to so many questions. Haven felt and struggled with her anxiety not knowing the amount of power she had that gave her the confidence she needed. This book has love, betrayal, forgiveness and magic!! I loved Haven’s growth in the story and the bonds she created. The moments between Heaven and Nik was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. I enjoyed the twists and the build up and I can’t wait for book number 2!!
This book started a little slow for me but I definitely enjoyed it. Your main character is Haven, a girl in her senior year of high school who goes on her school trip and finds herself pulled into the fae realm with her friend Roman. Turns out Haven and Roman are from fae royal families and must be tested to see which of the seven families they belong to and their place in line for the throne. They are welcomed by the crown regent, who is a super power hunger bully and from there it’s lies, intrigue and deceit. Haven isn’t sure who to trust and with good reason. I loved the dynamic between Haven and Nik, I wish we got more. I will definitely read the next book when it comes out.
If you like slower paced books, this book will be perfect for you. I didn’t realize how quickly paced the books I typically read are until I started this one. Despite it being slower than I would have liked, I was completely hooked on the story about 30 pages in. It was very well written and just enjoyable to read. The characters are so easy to fall in love with and the story is interesting and unique.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a slower paced book and despite wishing it was faster paced, I absolutely will be reading future books in the series because I am hooked on this world.
Thank you Sunny Babe PR for sending me a copy of this book!
Haven Moore, preparing for her school trip away. Unaware of what life would be preparing for her. Unaware of the existence of another realm and her part that will play within it.
FMC Haven, has been thrust into a new world, where royal politics, forbidden love and betrayal remind her of what she must do.
MMC Nik, jealous, broody and an unfortunate link to a villanous bastard.
I was pleasantly surprised with this read, elemental magic, betrayal, politics, forbidden love, spice, and just a young adult girl finding her place in a brand new world.
i am definitely intrigued to follow on in this series to see where things might take Haven and her love interest.
