Outcast: Clean Mystery Suspense with a touch of romance (Shunned by the Amish Book 1) Kindle Edition by Samantha Price (Author)
Outcast, by Samantha Price, is the first addition to the series, ‘Shunned by the Anish’ which is being released, July 25, 2024. In this series, Trust Ziegler is no longer the Amish Bishop’s daughter, she is a renowned Jewel thief. When caught, she is offered a way out by the FBI. All she has to do is work with the FBI’s Agent Harris on case by case basis. The new and Improved series takes a young woman who was raised in an Amish home and drops her in a world of real crime. What a network of criminal friends this girl has. Ryan Castle, her former boyfriend, is now her enemy and even promised to testify against her. What was this world coming to??? No honor among criminal friends. The story unfolds quickly and there is never a chance to become board. The Plot is great and the characters are realistic. Even some Familiar characters from another Price series stick their heads into the story. Perfect ending for this story to continue. This is a great start to this new series. Can’t wait for the next adventure. This one is 5-stars all the way. I was given and ARC by the author, but was in no way required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I have read and reviewed many, many books and posted them on several review sites and have never given a book only three stars. If I don’t like a book, I simply stop reading it and move on. However, I enjoyed this book–it is well written and the subject was of interest to me. When I read a book I expect it to have a beginning, a middle, and an end. I expect the book to conclude with a satisfactory ending, wrapping up the various twists and turns. As it happens, this book ends abruptly, actually in the middle of a scene, with a note on the next page, “Find out what happens next in Book 2, Chance.” I not only find this irritating, it is deceptive and unfair to the consumer. If it’s only part of the story, the reader, or potential buyer, should be told up front, not tricked into buying another book. It is clear that it is Book 1, but my expectation is that each book will be a complete story unless I’m told otherwise. I’ll not buy another book written by this author. Thus three stars.
I have been enjoying the Amish Bonnet Sisters Series by Samantha Price. I have enjoyed every one. I loved all the characters.
OUTCAST is a new book but so very different than her others. It was much more serious and I must say, a little disturbing. I had a difficult time warming up to the main character, Trust. I did feel her pain on how she was treated by her own parents and neighbors when she was younger.
It was full of twists and turns. I didn't know what was going to happen next.
Samantha Price did it to me again. I got to the last page and went "what"? She writes like the old movie theater series where there is a cliffhanger to bring you back next week. You have to come back and read Book 2. You just have to.
In this nice clean read, you find Trust, an Amish Bishop's daughter shunned for her behaviors. Trust and her boyfriend pulled some fairly great heists... until Trust wound up in prison that is. (Spoiler alert). I'm so happy Trust finally gained her freedom, though it did come with some stipulations. I look forward to reading what Trust will do in the future. I think she is a strong and courageous woman. I see good things for her. We shall see! Join me in the second installment of Trust's story.

I am not exactly sure how I feel about this book. I couldn't put it down and it made me think. It is definitely a different perspective on both the Amish and crime. We usually see crime in the eyes of a law enforcement person. This is in the eyes of someone who is doing crime for what they think is a good cause and has a very good network. I am struggling with right and wrong right now and hope Trust choses right in the end.
Suspense, danger, turmoiled past….Amish upbringing but never fitting in - always told she would turn out just like Uncle Pete, Trust chartered her own path in life, daring and exciting, always just outside the grasp of the law until……..would freedom ever ring for her again? Would FBI agent, Jack Fletcher, be the instrument of change for her? Gripping story you won’t want to stop until you finish!
I read everything I can from Samantha Price, this book was good, just took awhile to get into the character if Trust. I really like the Ettie and Elsa May were brought into the story, it lent some familiarity that I appreciate. I'll wait for book 2 in thr series. I believe I'll grow to appreciate the series more if Trust stays more on the honest side!
Outcast is almost what you expect to read about. Except that Trust is finally doing what the Amish community accused her of her entire youth as an Amish. Except with a twist! Trust plotting skills are something to be desired. As Trust finds out in this exciting and clean Amish tale with a twist.
Outcast is definitely a page turner! Trust, an Amish outcast shunned by her community since childhood story unfolds with suspense and intrigue. Outcast is a compelling read that blends deep emotional resonance with a tightly woven plot, making it hard to put down.
This was a very interesting book. Full of suspense. It's exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait for book two. Also, it had a nice surprise if you're a fan of Samantha Price books you'll know 😊
I found this book surprisingly interesting. There was mystery with a hint of romance. Having the main chapter become a 'rogue' was surprisingly interesting. Look forward to the next addition.
This was a very good book filled with lots of drama. It was hard to understand how an Amish girl turned into a criminal. I also didn’t understand the job that was given to her by Fletcher and the FBI that allowed her to get free from serving her sentence in jail.
This is the story of a young woman who has spent her time stealing precious items and then selling them and giving the money to a charity to benefit women who were homeless and had nothing to their names. This is my review and mine alone Norma Gorrill
Yes she is a really good thief but she funnels her funds into programs and shelters for people in need of assistance. Caught and retrained by the FBI, she is becoming a crime fighting force.
This is not what I'm used to from Samantha Price. It might be ok, but not my cup of tea. I'll probably try one more, but won't promise anything after that.
