All my friends are under the impression I’m only at Newhouse to chase women and play baseball. Those are two of my favorite pastimes.
The truth is, Newhouse is my chance to save my family’s farm. If I don’t get drafted, we’ll lose everything we’ve been working hard to keep.
Then I hear her sing and she’s all I can think about. It’s messing up my game and putting my future in jeopardy. I need to get her out of my system, but this girl is playing hard to get.
Her roommate, on the other hand, follows a strict schedule and is easy to track down. I can ask her to help me get the girl and silence the voice in my head.

September 20, 2024Dnf @ 39%. I refuse to believe someone as smart as Wren is supposed to be would be okay with a guy who was using her to try to hook up with her best friend for 35% of the book. A guy who can’t even be bothered to clean (she cleans his room and organizes his stuff for him), and doesn’t know how to wash his damn hat.
He didn’t even decide he wanted to be with her on his own - he went on a date with her friend who was like “wtf is wrong with you,” where he should’ve had a come to Jesus moment and been like “man I’m a dumbass.” Instead he’s like “oh dang, really?” 🚩🚩🚩
Please 🙄 I’m not against reformed players, but I am against man-children who are completely oblivious to what’s in front of them.
Side-note: MMC did not know how to fold his own laundry and just shoved it into drawers unfolded. My ten year old son knows how to fold laundry and put it away properly. An incompetent main is not cute.

I almost quit reading this in the beginning, H/h are in the same friend group. He overheard someone singing and is captivated by the Voice, turns out it's the h's roommate singing. Unable to get the voice out if his head he's determined to sleep with the roommate and enlists the h's help in getting with her.

At first I was pissed, he was already a manwhore but then he wanted her roommate too? Thankfully I continued reading and I'll was not as it seems. I liked that he was all in with the h even when he didn't know he was all in with her 😂
h wasn't a simpering doormat either, she's supposed to enter an arrangement with her father's friend's son at graduation but she's had hookups during her time at school. She was even a little mean to the H 😂
These two were awesome together and I'm glad I took a shot on this author
Hopefully the manwhoring is kept to a minimum in other books

✨️ Wow, wow, wow! I absolutely LOVED everything about this book. I adored the FMC, Wren. She is being added to my list of favorite FMCs. I loved the banter and chemistry between her and Wyatt. From the beginning, she wasn't a huge fan of his, then they hung out so much that they became best friends, and feelings started blooming for the both of them. You might look at this cover and think it's just an average college baseball romance, but it is not!! He's a country boy, and some of the book actually takes place on a farm. So, even if you aren't a fan of sports romance, I'd still recommend you give this a read! ❤️❤️❤️

This is book 2 in the Newhouse University series, I had the joy of reading the first book, Easy Out as an ARC last year. This book surpassed my expectations, Ginger you outdid yourself my friend! I’m in love with these characters, now in a book hangover 😩
Wyatt is a star pitcher at Newhouse U, he’s determined to get drafted and help save his families farm. Wren wants to work with her dad, she even agrees to a marriage of convenience to help his business. They’re complete opposites, Wren wants everything in order, Wyatt goes with the flow (and has a messy room 😅) These two bond over organizing Wyatt’s closet, Wren learns to let loose and even dances a little. They quickly become best friends, maybe even more….
A reverse grumpy sunshine, sign me up! The banter between these two was unmatched, I was kicking my feet and laughing during so many parts of this book. Wyatt is absolutely one of my new favorite book boyfriends, how could he not be? THE MUSTACHE! This man is everything! He really shows Wren how to get out of her head, to have fun! Wren’s character growth through this book was amazing, she came out so strong and I adore her!
I’m sad this book had to end, but so thankful for the opportunity to read this ARC. Ginger, you’re amazing and I’ll literally read your grocery list!

Wyatt and Wren have this sort of chemistry you would never see coming, but once it’s there, you can’t get enough of it. They are pure opposites: Wren is organized, quiet, lives by a strict schedule, and has her entire future planned out; Wyatt is fun, outgoing, a total casanova, and lives life in the moment. I love reading books with the opposites attract trope because the banter is top tier, and trust me when I say that Wren and Wyatt’s banter lived up to that expectation!! I love both Wren and Wyatt and thought they brought out the best out of each other—they are truly made for each other and I’m happy they were able to get the HEA they deserve.

This story was so much fun to read. I giggled way too many times, I laughed out loud at Wyatt’s fun outbursts, I sympathized with both Wren and Wyatt for their own reasons, and boy did I blush when they realized the inevitable. The slow burn was so addictive. The writing was easy to follow along. The chemistry was off the charts. The character development was done so well (especially with Wren). I could not put this book down, and trust me when I say I lost sleep from reading, but it was totally worth it. I’m obsessed with this book, this series, and the entire Newhouse U world—I just can’t get enough. I’m so excited to see where the rest of the series takes us, and I know I’ll love every single moment just as much as the first two books.

If you are looking for a book with top tier banter between a black cat type A FMC and a go with the flow golden retriever baseball player then you NEED to add this book to you TBR!
There are no words to describe how much I loved this book and the dynamic between Wren and Wyatt! Ginger really knocked it out of the park with this one! You are first introduced to Wren and Wyatt in Easy Out, which is the first book in the Newhouse University series. Wyatt is portrayed as this playboy who is just looking to have fun and Wren is this girl who seems anti-social. So these two on the outside seem like such an odd pairing but it works in the best possible way.
This book starts off with Wyatt begging Wren to help him set him up with her roommate. Wren wants nothing to do with Wyatt. She finds him annoying. Can't stand the way he texts. But at the same time is questioning why she's attracted to him. Wyatt is supposed to be going after Charlie, Wren's roommate but the more time he spends with Wren, he loves annoying her, finds her being mean to him as a turn on and doesn't understand why she gets hims rooster crowing. When I tell you these two are opposites, I am not lying but they bring out the best in each other.
I was absolutely LIVING for Wren and Wyatt's witty banter. For every annoying thing that Wyatt did to Wren, Wren had a witty comeback. Their banter never stopped. It was top tier. And it is what made this book so entertaining. But besides their witty banter, both Wren and Wyatt both had amazing personal inner monologues. Their monologues were hilarious. I also loved their character development both separately and together as a couple. These two are such opposites. Wren has her quirks and Wyatt is a Casanova who can't be bothered. Surface level these two shouldn't make sense. But they truly brought out the best in each other. Wren thought she wasn't lovable and was willing to settle for an arranged marriage but Wyatt proved to her that she is lovable and he LOVED all of her qualities that she thought no one would love and accept.
This book was everything I wanted and more! It made me giggle, blush and swoon so hard. I just loved this book so much! So if you are looking for a new book to add to you TBR I highly suggest adding this one! You will not be disappointed!

I loved this so much!!! Ginger Walls is a new to me author, and I'm so glad I discovered her! This book! Chefs kiss 💋!!
Wren & Wyatt have so much chemistry that it's amazing! I really enjoyed this book!
These two started off on the wrong foot, but once they started to hang out, they got to know each other, and the rest is history!!

Ugh Wyatt and Wren were just so freaking cute together. I loved how they always challenged one another and were able to love specific quirks about each other that they thought weren’t loveable. They truly made each other better and grow as people.
Wyatt is this happy go lucky guy and puts on this façade that nothing bothers him but things do get to him and he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, not being able to help his family with their farm and trying to convince himself that going pro is the only way to help them.
Wren seems like this uptight person who can be harsh at times with her bluntness but she can’t help wanting order and control to calm herself and her thoughts, she loves those closest to her fiercely and would do anything for them.
Seeing their relationship progress from dislike, to friends, to best friends, to with benefits, to finally being together was beautiful. Wyatt really thought the world of her and was so attentive towards her, it was adorable. Wren learnt to let loose and that she deserved a love and a life that Wyatt could give her.
This is perfect for any reader who is a fan of the golden retriever X black cat, and friends to lovers tropes.

Both Wren and Wyatt have that sense of duty when it comes to their family and what’s expected of them. For me, Wyatt has so much on his shoulders when it comes to his families farm, and love how you can see just how much his family means to him in his life. He’s so passionate and persistent, and LOYAL. The way him and Wren were so cautious of each other was hilarious, but I loved how it blossomed throughout the story.
Wren, MY GIRL, you’re my spirit animal for real😂

This book was a fucking SMASH!! 11/10 recommend that you read this immediately.

This was just the cutest little read! I loved the banter between Wyatt and Wren. I literally laughed out loud. I loved the character growth, especially Wren’s. I related so much to her. Her need for organization and perfection and watching her be comfortable enough with Wyatt to be herself made me so happy. He loved her just the way she was, flaws and all. I love the message of this story — that there’s someone out there who will love you for you, just how you are.

READ THIS BOOK! This book was incredibly good. The absolute best mix of spice(that was perfectly done) and plot. Wren and Wyatt grabbed onto my heart and did not let go. Watching their story unfold was beautiful. If i can only recommrnd one romance book, this is the one!

Got my first arc this month and I finished it in two days. I literally inhaled this book!!! I was swooning over Wren and Wyatt the whole time.

Wren Ellington is a girl after my own heart. She has become one of my favourite FMCs. Her anti-socialness, her way of planning and organizing each and everything with utmost precision, her obsession with sticky notes and office supplies, her witty comebacks!! I adored it all😭❤️ She had her whole life planned but love was not in those plans.
Enter Wyatt Rivers *smirking* 🌝🤭
"She's mentioned more than once that some people find her attention to detail frustrating to deal with. They clearly haven't had her full attention on them. When I'm the one she is fixated on, I feel like a king."
On surface level, they could not be any more opposite. While Wren had a perfect routine, Wyatt was loud, messy and chaotic. He seems like just another basketball player who is a total casanova at first but as the story goes on, you realise there's so much more to him. He was so sweet and thoughtful throughout the book🥺❤️ The way he cared for his family was everything!!

I truly loved this book, it was hilarious from the beginning. The way it was written, with the banter and woman empowering, I just loved the continuous banter between Wyatt and Wren. I enjoyed what the book evolved into, and I loved that the ending wasn't your typical rom com novel. The author gave it her own flare and each character had a purpose. I read it quickly because I truly likes the way it was written and how everything played out. Look forward to reading another from this author!

This was my first Walls book and I am absolutely in love! I love the characters, the plot, and the slow burn that makes you ache. The banter and witty one liners were so off the charts that I lost track of how many times I laughed out loud!
Wyatt is the goofy starting pitcher for the Newhouse University team with a killer moustache. His hope is to be drafted and help save the family farm.
Wren is a blunt, type A, hyper-organized student with a sharp tongue. She believes her next step is to better her fathers company with an arranged engagement.
Thanks to a case of mistaken identity, Wren and Wyatt’s worlds collide and change everything.

He couldn’t be more right! (uh love this line!!!)
Wren and Wyatt go from enemies to best friends to lovers. This is a true opposites attract trope, but the connection between the MCs comes together so naturally. I would consider this a slow burn but OH BOY when the fire starts there is no putting out the flames between Wren and Wyatt!
The family dynamics, even when misunderstood, are completely relatable and the friendships are so carefree, yet mature.
This story takes place while the MCs are still in University, however the plot does not focus much on the student dynamic so I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a college romance. It feels more country/smalltown to me, which I LOVE!
This book definitely hit a homerun for me!

If you’re looking for baseball romance, farm boy, reverse grumpy/sunshine, amazing banter, or he falls first look NO further! This book has it all! It’s a sizzling slow burn but the spice is 🥵.
“I’ve fallen in love with you. I want to start a life with you. I want to build a house on the hill with you. I want a tire swing in the tree so I can push you and watch your hair blow in the breeze. And I want you.” 😍😍 *swoon*
It took me about 50 pages to be fully emotionally invested in this book but once I was hooked there was no turning back. I was sneaking away to corners to read this at work because it’s THAT good. I laughed, I cried (happy tears), I squealed, and I grinned the cheesiest grin ever all while reading this. Really the only thing wrong with this book is that it wasn’t longer, I was so sad to see it end but that ending was perfection *chefs kiss). I could read 10 more books about Wren and Wyatt. This is my first read from this author but I will definitely be checking out her other books!

This book was so cute… I was sitting here full on CACKLING at the banter.
I related to the FMC so much with her little quirks, because it’s the exact same things that I deal with. I was like, “Why is this author putting all my business in a book ?” 😂😂😂
Wyatt ? Oh, HEAVENS. Add him to my top 5 book boyfriends and he ain’t number 5. I have fallen in love with another man from a book and it’s befuddling because I don’t know what yall putting in these damn books, but it must be crack 😂😂
The way that they bickered nonstop was the best part about this book to me. It was like me sitting down watching Tom & Jerry as a child, the banter was it !
And let me just say this, he will talk you through it 🧎🏾♀️🧎🏾♀️🧎🏾♀️😂😂😂

I signed up for an early review copy on a whim and BOY am I glad I did! This book was so much fun! The banter was excellent!!
Who would have thought that the strait-laced FMC and the laid back, Alabaman baseball-playing, farm boy were the perfect match?! They were both annoyed by each other in the beginning which made for the PERFECT one-liners.
When Wyatt corrals Wren to help him hookup with her roommate, against her better judgement, Wren goes with the plan. But the more time they spend together planning hangouts, the closer they become.
Wren had so many quirks. A good time for her was shopping the supply aisle for new sticky notes and pens, or wearing slacks and blazers out and about. She was so well written I could picture it. Wyatt’s laid back and chaotic personality (and closet) was a great balance for her.
An excellent read that I devoured! Looking forward to the next book from Ginger!

I cannot rave enough about the banter in this book. Wyatt loves annoying “birdie” 😭🤭 and she has a comeback for everything! And their inner monologues had me laughing out loud.
I don’t usually gravitate towards FMC’s but I absolutely adored Wren. Ginger is the queen of strong, resilient FMC’s!

Strike Zone was such a fun book to read! Thank you Ginger Walls for this ARC copy!
Okay so first love the tropes as there really are so many to choose from! But to name a few: Baseball Player, Reverse Grumpy x Sunshine, Dual POV, Country Boy, Flirty Banter… and so many more!
The way the book is written makes you feel like you are watching the relationship unfold! I absolutely love Wren and Wyatt’s constant banter that you know is a budding relationship! It’s so fun to read! I also LOVE when there’s text messaging in a book because it’s just an added element!
I highly recommend reading this for a fun, flirty with some spice of course read! Solid 4⭐️!

I love this book so much! I got the opportunity to read this as an arc and was obsessed with Wren and Wyatt! They had so much banter and were actually the cutest going from dislike to lover to best friends to dating. So many tropes rolled in to one book without being over powering or annoying. There was a few times were it was a little cheesy but considering Ginger Walls is still a newer author this was a fantastic read that I would definitely recommend! I can’t wait to read the third book in the series which is Koa and Sydney’s!

I have been winning with books with great banter between the MCs.
Wyatt becomes obsessed with a voice he hears singing. To the point he starts stalking the roommate of who he believes the voice belongs to so she can set him up with her. It's absolutely insane behavior.
They way Wren and Wyatt annoy and play off each other is so fun. You can literally pinpoint the moment Wyatt's initial plan starts to divert.
I wish we got more of Wren's little problem. I wanted the "villain" in her story to have a bit more limelight. I wanted the stakes a little higher there. I wanted drama, basically.
