Written by two teachers of creative writing at Ghost Ranch, Georgia O’Keeffe's home and retreat in New Mexico, while staying and teaching there. The character and atmosphere of Ghost Ranch, is the background of every poem, and enriches them for being so. The poets draw upon the infinite stars, the friendly burros, and the magnificent vistas--as well as some ghostly sounds--to inspire their poems. Makes me long to experience it in person.

This morning, after the dogs went out and came back in and after the coffee was brewed and before my husband got up and the radio was turned on and the paper came, I read this little book of poetry. Nothing clears the mind and cleanses the soul like reading well written poetry and this book, with its images of the mountains, the sky, the burros, snakes, and coyotes, and Adironack chairs is a good way to start the day.
