The Mafia Academy #3

The Mafia King's Sister

Rate this book
The spicy third chapter of The Mafia Academy Series- A forbidden love dark romance set at a mafia boarding school for the sons and daughters of the most powerful mafia lords.

Aria Costa

The first time I saw Gabriele Vitale, some dark yearning deep inside me called to him and no matter what I did, I couldn’t stop wanting him. He’s made it clear that he wants nothing to do with me. But sometimes there’s a flicker of interest in his eye, and it’s enough to make me know he’s lying. When a stupid decision on my part throws us together, I get a first-hand view of the darkness he alludes to. One part of me is drawn to it. Another part of me is frightened by it. But not enough to stop from getting to know him better. He’s like a black hole, slowly sucking me in. As the darkness consumes me, I don’t care if it destroys me.

Gabriele Vitale

Aria Costa is off-limits for many reasons, the least of which is that she’s Marcello Costa’s younger sister. She’s also too young and way too inexperienced to be with someone like me who enjoys dabbling in the darker side of sensuality. My father and her brother have made it clear that I am to steer clear. And I try. But it proves impossible to erase her from my mind. Whenever she’s near, my protective instincts roar, “Mine” and I’d do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Which is why after a foolish decision one night I’m forced to help her figure out who’s threatening her and what they want. I’d give my life for hers, and it might very well come to that.

If there's one thing I know before I pick up a Mafia Academy book, it's that I'm going to have a good time! I've read every single one of the books in this series in one sitting. They're perfectly paced, and the writing style keeps me entertained and captivated the whole way through. This one was no different!

Gabriele Vitale has intrigued me since book 1. He's been known to save the day a time or two with his insane hacking skills, but he's kind of closed off, so we've never gotten to see much of him aside from that. His love interest, Aria, is the sheltered little sister of Marcello, the head of the Costa crime family. I couldn't wait to see Gabriele and Aria together or how Marcello would react to the pairing, and let's just say, I definitely was not disappointed.

Before I even started reading, I knew Gabriele was going to be the perfect match for Aria. It's been pretty obvious to me from the previous installments that he's a good guy underneath his mysterious, gruff exterior. I love how possessive and protective he is of Aria from the second he lays eyes on her. Marcello couldn't hope for a better man for his baby sister, and I couldn't either.

Aria's curiosity and daring nature is what made this story for me though. I loved every moment from her intrigue and uninhibited dalliance at the sex club to her willingness to try the things Gabriele liked in the bedroom without hesitation. She proved to be a lot less innocent than anyone assumed, and I was here for it!

There's one book left in this series, Craving My Rival, and I can't wait to read it because of who it's about. A Russian bratva princess and and the next in line to run the Accardi Italian crime family?! Yes, please! Enemies to lovers is my shit, so that sounds like nothing but fun to me! Bring on all the angst, P. Rayne! I'm ready!

New Adult mafia romance fans, this one's for you!

Aria - the little sister of the first books MMC has just started attending the Academy and already has her sights on the one guy that is a mystery to the entire campus: Gabriele. We met him through the last two books, he was always in the know about everything and helped everyone (by having them owe him a favor).

Aria is invited early in the book to a secret location and her dumbass goes. It ends up being a sex club where she is interested in staying and has a scene with a woman and a man, which btw was my least fav thing in this whole series. I hate these scenes. Gabriele shows up after he follows her and saves her from going any further.

At first he is so uninterested in pursuing anything with her, not only because of the age difference but because his father forbid him as her family has become really powerful via the marriages in their family and connections but Gabriele cannot deny what he clearly wants and starts up something with her and of course she is totally up for it as she has a major crush on him.

We find out more about Gabriele and who he is, beyond the mystery there is a backstory.

They have a lot of steam between them and the fun part of it is that it's all a secret until it isn’t, and Marcello's reaction is fun to read.

I loved how Gabriele was protective over his girl. He went against his own father to have her and sadly that never ends well, right?

Throughout the book we have Aria deal with someone blackmailing her over information her deceased father had on them, and we are stuck trying to figure out who it could be. I thought it might be the couple she almost hooked up with at the sex club, but it turns out to be a rival mob who kidnaps her but the real culprit behind it, is Gabriele's father and his cousin who he trusted the most.

He has no choice but to eliminate his father and make it happen.

We end the book with Aria being pregnant and they get married.

Whew, this one is a hot one!

A lot is going on in this story; some you may pick up on, and some you might miss if you aren't paying close attention. I loved the suspense surrounding who was blackmailing Aria and how it drove Gabriele to surrender his feelings for her and protect her with everything he had. Honestly, the chemistry was so strong between the two of them that he was bound to give in at some point, no matter how hard he tried to stay away from her.

2⭐️ This was definitely my least favorite of the series.
The FMC came across as reckless, immature, and honestly way too desperate to be with the mmc. I was ready for a story where she chased after him, but it almost felt like she had zero self-respect. He pushed her away over and over, and she just kept letting him walk all over her.

The sex club scene also didn’t sit right with me, she was way too willing with that couple, and if the MMC hadn’t shown up, I’m pretty sure she would’ve gone through with it. Not my vibe.

That said, I’m still looking forward to the last book in the series, it’s the one I’ve been wanting to read from the start, but I held off so I could go in order.

This is the 3rd book in the Sicuro Academy series.
Gabriele Vitale is the next in line to run the Vitale crime family and Aria Costa is the little sister of the head of the Costa family.
Aria has been attracted to Gabriele for a long time but he has discouraged her at every turn.
They are both guest at Antonio and Sofia's wedding when Aria get a mystery black envelop in her room. She sneaks out and goes to the place she was told to do that ends up being a sex club. Gabriele is a master hacker and tracker her phone to the place. She watches for a while then a couple invites her to play but as she starts Gabriele shows up and gets her out of there. Not before someone takes of picture of her and uses it to blackmail her. She doesn't understand what they want. They finally inform her they want an USB that her dead father had. While working together to figure it out Gabriele finally gives into the sexually feeling for her.
While having a nice out with her new friend Bianca she wins a day off campus at a bingo game. She takes Gabriele with her and chaperone Mr Smith are shot at as a warning. The teacher is hit.
Aria has been taken for the second time and everyone is trying to find her when Gabriela hacks into the school system and can't believe what he sees. After she is found. A final battle happens and confronts the kidnapper.
I was surprised as you will be when you find out who was behind it all.
Thanks P.Rayne for another amazing story.

Gabriele and Aria set my kindle on fire with all that nuclear hot slow burn chemistry and sweet tension of forbidden love! P. Rayne delivers another smashing hit mafia academy romance with Coveting the Mafia King's Sister. It was fast paced, action packed, right amount of dark and I am getting more and more obsessed with Sicuro Academy. Aria may have been brought up in a protected life of a mafia princess but our sweet heroine has lots of hidden naughty sides. And who knew tech wizard Gabriele can turn into this ruthless jealous possessive antihero when the time comes to protect his woman?

Gabriele Vitale knew that Aria Costa is off limits. He is heir to his family's kingdom but she is the sister of Don of Costa family and a fellow student at Sicuro Academy, Marcello Costa. But the problem is he is insanely attracted to her. And Aria is equally enamored with him and she didn't hide it in every encounter they had. Now, Aria is coming to Sicuro Academy. Can they resist each other? Gabriele won't have an option to keep her at an arm's length when unknown enemies start blackmailing Aria...

I was always fascinated with Gabriele through the previous standalones in Sicuro Academy world. He is not openly violent or reckless like other mafia guys around. He is a mastermind with his exception technology skills. He uses information as weapon. He has a cold hearted calculated intense personality that is equally, if not more, effective as a explosive one. But Aria just pushed his world off his axis. She is beautiful and innocent and yet she has a sassy and curious side that is so much more attractive to Gabriele. He tried to push her away and Aria repeatedly tried to make her heart and pride understand that they have no future. But their pull was too strong. Oh my god, every time they came together on page, it was like fireworks everywhere. Gabriele is a dominant and that was so freaking hot. Gotta love a man who takes pleasure in control but loses it for his woman. Aria brought out the possessive and protective side in Gabriele. She wanted adventure and live freely beyond the restrictions of a mafia princess but slowly she realises that their world is a ruthless place and she cannot trust easily else she will put herself and everyone else in grave danger. This book was so hot when the intimate scenes came. The suspense and action kept me on my toes. The scene with Gabriele and Marcello's confrontation when Gabriele admitted his true feelings..was giving me life! Aria needed someone intense like Gabriele to discover her risky sides safely and Gabriele needed someone sweet and pure like Aria in his darkness. I cannot wait for the next Sicuro Academy book!

So, P. Rayne did it again. Honestly, the books in this series keep getting better and better and at this point I wish I could attend the Sicuro Academy myself.

Gabriele Vitalio was always someone I was extremely intrigued and excited to know about. There was always this mystery about him and captivating energy and I just couldn't wait to learn his story. Let me tell you, Gabriele did not disappoint. 🥵

Aria Costa. I looove Aria! I love her so much it's crazy, and I love everything about her.
She might have moments of self-doubt but goodness does she look confident to everyone else. Her energy is incredibly captivating, she's funny, she's super attractive and sexy. Aria isn't afraid to be herself and the confidence with which she embraces anything and everything she enjoys is incredible. She certainly sets an example and inspires admiration, making me want to learn from her and emulate some of her qualities.

Aria has been attracted to Gabriele for a while and she was never afraid to show it and to make her moves. Unfortunately for her, Gabriele is loud and clear that he is not at all interested, nor will he ever be.

Gabriele Vitalio isn't just a simple - talented and powerful, - hacker we learn of in the previous books. There is honestly so much more to him, and the more you know him, the more you feel yourself falling harder for this man.
Even though he always made it clear he wanted nothing to do with Aria, some of his actions were the complete opposite. Gabriele showed possessive tendencies towards Aria way before they got involved, and for some reason he just couldn't stay away from her, no matter the circumstances.

Gabriele and Aria together are a dream couple. 🫶🏽 There's passion, there's protection, there's genuineness. Gabriele is so protective of Aria it honestly melts my heart. And when they finally get together? Holy, just prepare yourself for incredible steamy rides with these two, which will make you crave more and more and more. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I read this book in one sitting, literally. It's fast-paced and it's so well written - I think at this point we're very much used to the quality of books P. Rayne give us, and this one is no exception. The plot and twists are just 🤯🤯🤯 seriously! I gasped! And I'm not saying anything else in this regard. 🤭

Gabriele and Aria's story didn't disappoint and at this point I'm having the hardest time choosing a favourite couple. Can I place all of them in my number one spot? I feel like this should be fair.
And of course it's needless to say that I'm (im)patiently waiting for Dante's book. And I already know I will love it.

Thank you so much Valentine PR and P. Rayne for providing me the ARC of this book! 💖

❗️I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily❗️

This is the third book in the Mafia Academy series. This is Aria and Gabriele’s story.

Aria’s brother Marcello is the don, and she feels trapped, she is tired of living in her “ivory tower”. Aria finds herself stuck because she is being blackmailed, and has no choice but to rely on Gabriele.

I loved that this was so much more than a mafia romance. This story had twists and turns, and I was at the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen. I love Aria and Gabriele together. I enjoyed getting to know them both more.

4.5 STARS

This third book in this Mafia Academy series has tons of spice, it’s a bit angsty, I think it’s an exciting romantic story with splashes of action/suspense.
I love the world the authors have created with major crime families children brushing shoulders at a private college where they learn how to be better criminals. It’s such a unique and entertaining world.
Aria seems like a young, wide eyed, sheltered daughter. She is, but she’s also headstrong, rebellious and wants to experiment in life. She has a spitfire personality, at first she’s a bit immature and not cautious. She’s eighteen and experiencing her first freedom so I felt it was fairly realistic. She doesn’t want to be the guarded mob wife at home with the kids. She immediately feels a pull towards Gabriele, he’s a computer hacker who’s a few years older from a on equally powerful family. He’s been strictly told to keep hands of off Aria. Obviously this is going to lead to some trouble for the pair.
They have push and pull tension, it’s obvious he is attracted and he does things to protect her, his father is the boss and her brother is the new, young boss of their family…..and he attends their University. So, they can’t hide something going on for long. I am an absolute sucker for forbidden romance.
Their relationship is compelling. It’s super hot, very naughty and at times really emotional and sweet.
I love both characters and the secondary characters.
It’s fast paced, sexy fun. There is some blackmail, suspense and action that is going on that balances perfectly with the romantic story. I really loved it, I can’t wait for the next book!

And lord have mercy if Gabriele isn't so hawt and steamy in the bedroom, like he is on fire!! Yummy, yummy, yummy is all I can say!! Why can't I give these books more than 5 Stars??!! This book no this series is so beyond what words can say and I can't recall it enough!! Definitely a must read book!!

Aria Costa is tired of her life only consisting of being locked away in an ivory tower . Her brother, Marcello, claims the mafia world is to dangerous now that he is Don, but finding trouble has always come naturally to Aria . But this time around trouble finds her in the worst way possible .. extreme blackmail . Now she has no choice but to rely on the one person who wants nothing to do with her, the one person who is off limits, the one person who she is massively crushing on - Gabriele Vitale . Can both her heart + family name come out of this unscathed, or will she tarnish one durning this massive ordeal ?

Gabriele Vitale needs to have control over all aspects of his life . Luckily for him the easiest way to gain control is with information + information is Gabe’s specialty . Which becomes extremely useful when he finds himself caught up in a blackmail mess with the one person he is supposed to stay very far away from, Aria Costa . But as time goes on + the two of them start to become closer, Gabriele realizes that a person can only have so much control for so long before they inevitably snap . The question is will Gabriele be able to keep his control on everything long enough to get what he wants, or will something have to give in order to make it out alive ?

HOLY MOLY THIS IS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE READS OF THE YEAR !! It’s no kept secret of mine that mafia is one of my all time favorite genres but this book is stealing the show ! From the very beginning you’re drawn in and immediately become addicted to Gabriele + Aria . Their chemistry is smoking hot and off the charts but there is only so much that can be done when you’re a mafia princess + the other is the next Don of a very powerful family . Nothing can stand in the way of these two, fate will always draw them back to one another .

Gabriele Vitale has made my book boyfriend list not only because he is a complete god in the bedroom but also because he rewrites the rules of the mafia world to make sure he can be with his girl . I mean .. SWOON !

This is the third book in the Mafia Academy series and it can be read as a complete standalone .

This book was given to me for honest review by Valentine PR + Literary Management .

This is book 3 in the Mafia Academy series. I’ve been waiting for this story for so long now, so I was so excited to get it! This has to be one of my favorite series of the year and if you haven’t read it, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

This is a forbidden romance between Gabriele Vitale & Aria Costa.
Aria is Marcello’s little sister & will finally be attending school at Sicuro Academy with her brother and Gab. She’s excited to see what’s in store for herself but will she be able to stay away from Gab and the feelings she’s harbored for him since she was young?
Gabriele has always known that Aria is off limits, but that never used to matter until very recently..
Now that Aria is attending the same school he’s started to take notice of her and just how much she’s changed & grown up.
Gab is the heir to his family’s kingdom and Aria is the little sister of the new Don of the Costa family, but will Gab be able to focus on his tasks of becoming the future head of the family?

Throughout this series I’ve been intrigued with Gab and was SO pumped to finally have his story. He has always been a bit different than the other mafia men. While he could still be violent & do what needed to be done he was a genius with technology & saw how information was power & could be used as a weapon.
I loved how Aria coming in totally pushed him off his axis.

Aria was innocent, sweet, & beautiful but had a sassy side that came out to play. As much as Gab tried to push Aria away, and the feelings he felt for her, he would falter every time they got together.
Watching their romance come to life through the pages had me at the edge of my seat squealing like a little girl, lol.

Ugh, every time I start the latest book I fall in love with each character & couple and can’t pick who’s my favorite. They’re just all THAT good!

Please do yourself a favor & pick this series up! I promise that you won’t regret it.

P. Rayne deserves all of the love & recognition & I can’t wait to see what’s next!!

*thank you Valentinepr & P. Rayne for this arc in exchange for my honest review.*

This was another great read in this series. I absolutely love this mafia college setting and all the mysteries going on. The relationships between the characters feel real and it was nice to meet the couples from previous books.
The plot is all about blackmailing and to find the person behind it. It was interesting to read although nothing new in a mafia book.
Aria and Gabriele are a perfect match. They have great tension and I liked them together. In the beginning I couldn‘t stand the fact that Aria is such a push over but gladly Gabriele came to his right mind and realised that he has feelings for Aria. He dropped some pretty sweet and lovely sentences so I easily forgave him for pushing Aria away earlier. I think it is important to remind yourself that this is a mafia book so it is realistic that the women and men are raised differently and it is indeed difficult to stand up against duty/your parents.
Overall this was an entertaining and quick read.

Thank you to P. Rayne & Valentine PR for an advance copy of Coveting the Mafia King’s Sister.
This book is the third in the Mafia Academy series. It can be read as a standalone but for the best experience, I recommend starting from the beginning.

In this installment we follow Marcello’s little sister, Aria, in her first year at the Academy. From the first time she was on the campus for the tour she noticed Gabriele Vitale and she’s wanted him since. After being shot down at a wedding prior to the start of the semester, she receives an unmarked letter with an address and against better judgment heads to the mystery location.

Gabriele knows he shouldn’t be interested. It’s why he pushed her advances away. She’s Marcello’s sister and his father has already warned him not to get further entangled in the Costa family. But when he sees her dressed cute and sneaking off somewhere, he can’t help but follow her. After that fateful night, his instincts to protect her only grow more intense as he’s now roped into a secret of hers, knowing that this could end in death if they don’t work quietly together and get to the bottom of who is threatening Aria.

I had been interested in getting a story with Gabriele since he was first introduced and it did not disappoint. I could just tell he was a secretive character with layers to him and the duo proved me right.

The buildup between Aria & Gabriele was tantalizing and exploding with chemistry…and I know I say this about each couple we meet in this world, but I think this one is my favorite. As the youngest character in the series, you would expect to see some naivete and there’s very minimal amount (something I personally loved). She was a seemingly virginia character who we learn has a very mature taste that rivals if not surpasses Gabriele.

There were some good twists and things that I didn't see coming, only one of my predictions wound up to be true. Spice level is high while still telling a full story

The final twist was an absolutely brilliant way to introduce the basic plot for the next book and get readers excited and ready to learn about some of the other branches of the mob families at the Academy.

Many thanks to Valentine P.R and Author P.Rayne for providing me my 3rd ARC of this series.
I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity.
────────────────────────────────

Not gonna lie, I was a bit worried at first reading about how much Aria wanted Gabriele and how he kept putting her off - I really despise unrequited love because it's so hard to read about. Luckily my worries were qualmed because this man went from;
“Nothing is ever going to happen between us. The last thing I need is to be a fucking babysitter.”
(1st chapter)
to; "Amazing how life works, I have everything I didn’t know I wanted. Thank God for the stubborn woman beside me otherwise this love would have passed me right by."
(Bonus Epilogue).

I loved reading about how Aria matured throughout the book from a doe-eyed naive girl to a young, confident woman, making an impact in a made man's world. It was so wholesome reading about the previous couples as well. Mira & Aria both share the same "placating" (Marcello's words not mine) qualities. It was funny reading about how both of them made his blood boil. Mira is a W sister-in-law for always looking out for Aria. I was a bit disappointed that Sophia didn't have any dialogs but even reading about her whereabouts had me smiling as well - Antonio features much more in this book.

Gabriele is everything I didn't expect and much more. Who knew this sexy nerd had such a domineering side to him? I knew I was going to love him but I didn't know it would be this much (Antonio still has my heart though).

Overall, this book had many twists and turns I didn't see coming, especially finding out who the "inside spy" was as well as the location of the USB. My jaw was on the floor when Gabriele did what he did without any hesitation in the last chapter - that was very sexy of him (let's just say he shares the same qualities like Maddox Vietiello when it comes to their women).

I highly recommend this series. There's a book for everyone when it comes to the tropes and they're all interconnected standalones. I also would highly recommend this series if you're looking into reading Mafia Romance for the first time.

I really had a good time reading this book, I didn't even expect to finish it on the release day because I've been in a slump for a while. I absolutely cannot wait for Dante's book!

Review to come!I have been waiting to get my hands on Gabriele and Aria’s story and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. This book was steamy, filled with longing, and suspenseful. It definitely checked off all of my boxes.

When we first meet up with Aria, we discover that she’s wildly attracted to Gabriele. Unfortunately, Gabriele turns her every chance he gets. So, when Aria finally gets up the courage to let her crush go, things don’t go as she planned. Aria makes a reckless decision that suddenly puts her on Gabriele’s radar.

Coveting the Mafia King’s Sister hit the ground running and never looked back. I was immediately pulled into this story and was unable to put it down. Aria was completely unexpected. On the surface, she appears to be sweet and innocent, but underneath it all is a delicious dark side that’s just waiting to come out. She is the forbidden fruit that Gabriele is unable to resist. On the outside, Gabriele is stubborn, yet deadly. And when it comes to Aria, no matter how hard he tries to fight it, he’s powerless to ignore the need to claim her as his.

Together, these two are a scorching inferno. When I say they burned up the pages together, I am not kidding. The pull between Gabriele and Aria was absolutely incredible. The need to protect. Possess. Claim. Ugh! I couldn’t get enough of the delicious tension their story delivered.

Gabriele and Aria’s story wasn’t without its fair share of ups and downs. I loved the unexpected moments and twists and turns this story provided. There were plenty of moments that kept me on my toes. If I had one complaint to make, it would be that there was a situation that never got fully resolved. Something happens, but it never gets mentioned again, almost like that moment was an afterthought. I know. I’m being super vague, but it’s definitely one of those, you’re just gonna have to read it, situations.

Overall, I thought this book was a fantastic read. I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in this story and can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. If you haven’t had the chance to check out P. Rayne yet, now is the perfect time to dive into this exciting mafia series.

This series just gets better and better! I can’t get enough!

Dante is son to head of one of the regions of the Italian mafia. Aria is the sister to the current Don of another, a clear indication as to why Dante should not be with her. But when Aria finds herself being blackmailed Dante steps in to help her find who’s doing it and protecting her along the way.

Dante was a lot of fun to read. He’s rough around the edges with that nerdy sexy man vibe. He also likes to be in control, something he doesn’t think sweet and innocent Aria would be into. He’s been instructed by his father to steer clear of her. However he’s struggling with these feelings he’s starting to have for the maybe not so innocent new girl.

Aria was your typical naive mafia princess. She’s impulsive, reckless and doesn’t always think of the consequences of her actions. She’s had a major crush on Dante for awhile but he always claims she’s too young, too innocent and completely off limits. One night of recklessness and Aria is suddenly being blackmailed by an unknown source. She needs Dante’s help…but maybe she can also convince him to give in the feelings she knows he has underneath.

I love the academy aspect of this series and all the different Don’s, groups and characters. Always fun to see past characters and where they are now. You can tell the story is leading up to a big battle at some point…or at least I assume.

“ARC REVIEW”

I wanna go to a mafia academy now.
I fell in love with this book after only just a few chapters. There is something about the Academy that just seems so special. And even though I haven’t read the first two books. Aria and Gabriele were to perfect duo to get me hooked on this. Aria might seem innocent but something about her curiosity makes her so very interesting. She matures a lot and I loved seeing her grow. Gabriele on the other hand knows that he likes control even though other people think he is just good for computer stuff. He shows his true colors and the strength behind that brain in this book. He likes control not just in the mafia but also in the bedroom. The threat that came in after New York was the moment I knew that Gabriele would step up and be the protector Aria needs. Now the only stressful thing was Aria’s brother and Gabriele’s father.🦋

I have been wanting to read this series for a while now and when I got this ARC I couldn’t believe it!! I am so thankful to be part of @authorprayne release day for this book.

There is a lot of drama and in my opinion it is one of those series that you have to read the other books to know what is going on and get a better feel of the characters and their roles. I will definitely be doing this!
I love that these are all sons and daughters of big time mafia men, who are secluded from society to keep them out of the harm that could be going on “out in the world” since these are all the next “heirs” being prepared for the business in some way or another. Being away does not come without its own drama though.
Aria and Gabriel are a forbidden love because of family/power relations however they have such a strong pull towards each other and a strong attraction they cannot fight. This results in Gabriele being wrapped up in drama that follows Aria.
Her dad was a powerful man who did some things to some people they did not like and now they are after something he left behind once he died. Aria is put in danger several times and Gabriele is there along the way protecting her and fighting for her. I loved it!

This is a fact paced mafia read that will keep you turning the pages for sure!

Thanks to Valentine Pr and Piper Rayne for the advanced copy of this book.

Another good read in the Mafia Academy series by P.Rayne.

I was looking forward to this one. Gabriele Vitale has come across as more distant than the other head/future heads of the Italian families and I was keen to find out more about him. He keeps to himself and has his computers for company, collects favours and seems to solve problems for the other families.

Aria Costa, the younger sister of Marcella Costa (head of the Costa family) has had an interest in Gabriele since her orientation day. She is sure he is interested in her too even though he doesn’t act like it.

When Gabriele steps in to save Aria from a problem, this leads to them seeing more of each other and him having to try to fight against his attraction for her and to not go against his fathers direct orders to not get involved.

This story again features a good romance story, betrayal and deceit, some violence and a protective dominant male and strong willed female.

I enjoyed the story and look forward to continuing the series.

“i looked up what your name meant. obviously, i know that the translation from italian to english is air. and that’s perfect, because you are the air i breathe. you give me life. and yes, it’s also a song or a melody, which felt fitting because you’re the one who brought music into my heart. who made it beat with a melody that only you can.”

i went into this book knowing beforehand it was going to be my favorite one in the series, and it didn't disappoint. this was superior, which is no surprise given how the mmc has been the most intriguing character introduced in this universe (apart from a possible main in an allegedly spin off of this series, if you know you know). i appreciate how these authors approach the role women have in the mafia and the different perspectives that can take for each person. no two fmcs have been the same so far, nor are they shamed for being any more or any less involved in the business or wanting any more or any less to be the stereotypical mafia wife. women are allowed to be whoever they want to be, and the contrast between the women in the old generation and the ones from the new generation are a beautiful detail, especially with the old guard dogs dying and allowing both generations to come into themselves.

And these books just keep giving. As every book comes out, the story builds and just makes the bigger picture more complete. Making me want to go back and re-rate the previous books.

This book is a little different from the first 2. It's still set at the academy, but the bones of it are more grown-up, complicated, and just a little dirty. I can't divulge much as it would spoil so much. It keeps you gripped and guessing. Making it hard to put it down.

This book is a fantastic read, and I'd say my favourite so far in the series. It's a total recommend from me.
