What would you do if you discovered that the Greek myths were real?
Parker is desperate to add some excitement into her mundane life. When she befriends a nymph, she is thrown into a world she never knew existed.
After Parker witnesses a domestic dispute between a nymph and a satyr, she falls down a supernatural rabbit hole and unwittingly accepts a job working for a minotaur. This sets in motion an ancient prophecy that will change her life forever.
Parker must battle her own insecurities and embrace her newfound power in order to fulfil her destiny and to restore that which has been lost.
She will need to put her heart on the line for the man, the myth, the minotaur.
I liked the characters and the book kept me reading to the end. I found the writing style a little clunky but not enough to put me off. For a first book it's a good start. I may well look for the next book in the series.
The writing felt clunky and not polished. The romance felt like it just happened there was no real build up. The plot felt rushed and like these major events were just happening and I wasn’t getting to experience it. The story was interesting. Just was not a book for me.
I was first drawn in by the cover, it is such beautiful artwork. I was hooked from the get go and it just kept getting more exciting the further you got into it. I loved all of the main characters. The main female lead, whether intentional or not, gives off neuro divergent vibes which I loved. She is very relatable yet strong and independent which I prefer the main female character to be. I also enjoyed the fact that she wasn't too independent, there was a nice balance. The main male character is just adorable, he is a gruff exterior but a total teddy bear. The story is filled with intrigue and magic and mystery and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. The cliffhanger at the end has me glad that book 2 is already out as I need answers. I cannot wait to see where this series goes. The author is very concise but also descriptive creating clear imagery of the characters and their surroundings. The character developments throughout the story are just so well done and really make it even easier to love the characters. You can also feel the love the author has for her own characters with the attention to detail and the way they are described. The story flows well and never lulls and where it ends is the perfect place for the next story to start off. An amazing read that is well worth adding to your TBR
I got book 1 to see how I felt before committing to buying the series, wish I had just got them all now, as I need to know the other girls stories!!
I love the premise of the book and really enjoyed all of the Greek mythology links and how they are incorporated with modern life. I love how it isn't the God's for once but the other creatures that are so often overlooked.
The female characters were all well developed and relatable and not at all pathetic and swoony. The MMC was also well written- though I confess to losing track of who was who with the minotaurs.
I did struggle initially with the writing style being so descriptive (not to take away from the author at all, just a personal preference), but as book 1 in a series I can see the need for descriptive world building.
Overall The Abraxas Prophecy is a really promising start to the series, perfect for fans of urban fantasy and romance (without excesses of in your face spice). Perfect if you loved Percy Jackson when younger (and still do) but want a bit more grown up romance with your mythology. Now off on my quest for book 2.....
The writing was a little odd, I couldn't quite get a grip on the POV. However, that is really my only negative.
I loved Parker. If she had been a younger FMC instead of being 29, her controlled and thoughtful responses to her various circumstances would have been unbelievable. I really appreciated seeing how a more mature lady would react to her whole worldview being turned on it's ear. I do think her slight digs at her body got to me after awhile. But otherwise I found her to be a funny, loyal, charismatic character.
Ellie and Apollo are by far my favorite characters in the whole book. I can't choice too many details without spoiling anything.
Damon was a great boss, a great friend, and a great boyfriend.
I had a great time reading and I want to continue the story.
Wow! This book was fantastic! I loved the story and it kept me engaged and intrigued throughout, while simultaneously making me want to review my Greek mythology. I appreciated that it is written in third person, which I think is much harder for authors to do.
**Spoiler incoming** Throughout the whole book, I was really hoping for Damon and Parker to become more than acquaintances and I was so happy when they did. Their relationship was total couples goals and melted my heart. I totally have a crush on their dynamic.

I really resonated with the main character in this book. She’s a badass female lead and I hope she appears again in the sequel. The book ended on a cliff hanger so I will look out for the sequel. There’s friendship, mystery, intrigue, suspense, romance and fantasy. I liked the twist on Greek mythology and I found the story line a refreshing break from my usual witch and vampire fantasy novels. Highly recommend.
DNT read 21% and gave up. While the idea is intriguing, I don't like the writing style, i.e. Third person point of view. Every second sentence is Parker this, Parker that... Arggggg. A detailed description of every single character and their clothes... Who cares...
DNF at 20%. There might be a brilliant idea behind this, but unfortunately the execution is severely lacking. It’s very boring. It lines out what happens from A to B to C without any emotion. The writing falls flat, and I have zero curiosity when it comes to the plot.
