Sister’s enemy, rock-star goddess, age gap—all rolled into a small-town romance. This steamy novel from the author of bestselling books like 'In a World of Our Own' and 'Fated to Love You' is a page-scorcher sure to get your hearts racing!
Sydney Moore, 23, a blonde bombshell, and sporting an unlucky streak so long it could rival her ex’s list of excuses. She’s back in Harbor Point—jobless, heartbroken, and bracing for the awkward family reunions. Home is where the heart is, sure, but it’s also where the grudges have taken root, particularly with her elder sister Claire, who still hasn't forgiven Sydney for her great escape when the going got tough. To top it off, their family’s beloved beach restaurant, Moore Waves, is under a rent siege by none other than Triss Frost—Claire's former BFF turned enemy and the infamous daughter of the man who won Sydney's family restaurant from her father in a gambling match when Sydney was just a child.
Enter Triss Frost, 33, a hot-as-hell rock goddess, clad in leather, and decorated with sexy tattoos that have their own Instagram pages. Known to the world as 'The Arrogant Bitch,' she’s back in town not for a nostalgia tour, but to face the music of her own rocky past. When Sydney crashes her doorstep to contest the skyrocketing rent, it isn’t just the old family feud that reignites. Triss, in a stroke of either genius or madness, offers Sydney a deal too intriguing to pass become her personal assistant, and she’ll slash the rent.
Thrust into each other’s daily orbits, Sydney and Triss navigate a labyrinth of fiery banter, intense glances, and emotions that run hotter than Triss’s guitar solos. As they grapple with their mounting lust and their penchant for butting heads, the looming question Can two people so wildly different find any common ground, or are they destined to clash like cymbals in a rock band?
I am your friendly neighborhood Sapphic romance writer, who has a knack for writing steamy romances, that also work as comfort reads. I know, a conundrum! But once you give my books a shot, you'll know what I mean! I live in London, a few streets away from where Sherlock Holmes used to live, so... if I you find me taking too long to publish my next book, I am probably off with Mr. Holmes on an adventure.
Stilted prose. Lifeless characters. Stab and grab male-gaze sex. Just a horrible book. Save your money and your time. Scroll by this one. What a waste of a good title
This book left me with more questions than answers by the end 😂🤦🏻 The plot and characters had so much potential and I think I can kinda see what the author was trying to do. But it just didn’t pay off. Lot of repetition, very male gaze like comments, and some of the spicy scenes just didn’t make sense with the plot. It’s only a short read. Just over 200 pages.
1) Why is the girl on the cover a ginger when Sydney was a blonde in the book 2) Was this book written by a man or why was "mounting" a serious synonym for "fucking"
I either love or am disappointed finishing anything from this author. Sailing into her GOOD but this sequel was the opposite. Story was very rushed. Sometimes multiple chapters covered a single day and then a single chapter was covering days/weeks so the characters timeline felt like a guessing game. Also hinted towards spice A LOT did not . Also kept hinting at something that happened with Sidney’s boyfriend but never just outright stated it.
I really really wanted to rate this book higher. I liked the premise and the characters were fine, but I felt like the story was disjointed? It seemed like multiple drafts were put together but not well enough so that the story transitions. I also feel like we didn’t get to explore enough of the characters and their past trauma, what exactly happened between Triss and Claire, how did Triss’s father take advantage of her? There’s too many unanswered questions at the ends
This book is spicy from start to finish. Love a good enemy to lovers age gap romance. Some directness of the main characters flirting was a bit over the top in the beginning it through me off but the writing redeemed itself mid way and on. Everything else so absolutely loved.
Great story loved the chemistry and buildup the storyline. It was hot and high intensity but it was good to see some vulnerability and emotional growth. Angst was present but coming out if it wasn't painful. Good to see Nat and Tara as support for Sydney. Definitely worth the read highly recommend!
Maybe it was because the book was a little shorter, but it felt like they were saying the same comebacks over and over. Also, it was kinda disappointing that Sydney went from being this “fiery” character to begging tris to be with her multiple times. Kind of ruined the last 50 pages for me.
This had so much potential but the writing and plot is all very 2012 fanfiction. It was enjoyable until the last 20% where we had the random 3rd act conflict and the choppiest resolution you ever did see. A shame really as I was enjoying reading the first half, I liked the characters (despite how unlikeable they really are), the set up and the banter, but the last bit ruined it entirely.
This book was a cute rockstar book about letting go of the past and learning g to move on. At some times it felt a little rushed, but over all I enjoyed this read. It was enthralling, and made me not want to put the book down just to see how they ended.
I really like this author, but this book was meh. The story had potential but ended up falling short on the spice, the relationship build up, and even the reconciliation. Triss had potential for a great character arc/ redemption arc, but she ended up falling flat. Didnt see enough of her change as much as I was hoping and the spice was also hyped up, and also fell flat.
Sometimes we find our person when we least expect it. The meeting is honest, with fire that brings forth vulnerability that breaks our walls. And sometimes it leads to running away because of it only to find them again and they become your HEA.
Wow, Goswami does not hold back and delivers explosive novels. Action, rollercoaster emotions and steamy 🔥 heat, leaves you captivated with 💓 Pulpitations and on edge, till the end. A 5🌟 if not more for this exciting, breathlessly gripping novel.
So much promise… I was both entertained and pushing myself to finish it. Pacing is off and characters seem a bit inconsistent at times. Wasn’t the worst thing I’ve read but I won’t be recommending it to anyone.
You’ll love this book if you like steamy explicit scenes and sapphic loving the enemy romances! A lip biter, and heartfelt love story. Would highly recommend!!!!!
Awesome! Another great book by this author! I have read most of them at this point and the author never fails to create a strong plot with a story that pulls at the heart strings but leaves you with a smile. Definitely worth the read!
I enjoyed this one and think I would definitely look at reading the second one. A very quick read but it had what was needed. This is my first saphic read.
