Silver Foxed is a standalone, dad’s best friend, age gap novella, with a plus-size female main character.
Elijah Astor is my dream man. Smart. Funny. Loyal… and devilishly handsome.
So, what’s the catch?
My dad is his boss—and did I mention he’s also his best friend?
Yep. Just my luck.
But when he unexpectedly and accidentally crashes a relaxing weekend at my parent’s lake house, I can’t ignore the sparks between us.
So, I make him an offer.
One weekend of no-strings-attached fun. One weekend where we will play house, enjoy each other, and pretend that my dad wouldn’t completely freak out if he knew we were together.
But when our fantasy weekend ends, will we be able to let each other go?
Silver Foxed was delightful and wonderfully steamy. It makes me really happy when I read about two characters who are genuinely nice and upfront about their needs and desires.
Apparently, I’m horny and need some attention. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be actively eye-fucking my dad’s friend-slash-employee. But I mean, who can blame me? This man is gorgeous.
Both Alex and Elijah may have accidentally encroached on each other's weekend away but instead of making a big deal, they decide to both stay on and hang out. Obviously it's an easy decision since they're both salivating for one another.
“I’m going to show you who you belong to, Alex. I’m going to come in your tight ass till my seed is dripping out of you. And you’re going to take it like a good girl should.”
Her father's employee, an age gap, a plus sized heroine and genuine respect and affection. It was so easy to read. But I haven't mentioned the hotness overload cos these two are roleplaying the weekend away. How can these two walk away with this much passion between them? Well they can't!
This was fun until the separation and confrontation happened.
Elijah (45) and Alex (30) had a double booking at Alex's parents' house. Then, of course, with mutual attraction and insta-lust, they decided to spend the weekend together. Gotta say these two were freaking hoooot, like wowza! The tension and chemistry were off the charts and too much to handle. 🥵 They perfectly fit each other in that department, and there's no denying that.
But then the weekend was finally over, and they had to go back to reality. Alex tried asking Elijah if they could probably see each other after, but before she even finished her question, he cut her off, saying they couldn't.
See, Elijah is Alex's father's best friend and coworker. He's worried about what the other people would say and the repercussions if they ever get together. He said he still doesn't know what he wants in his life at the age of forty-five. 🤷♀️ And he knew deep down that Alex deserved more than he could offer her.
Anyway, one month passed with nothing from him, but surprise, surprise, in that timeframe, he realized he loved her (how did this happen? I'll never know).
Then Alex's father was going to receive an award, and Elijah invited himself to the ceremony so that he could finally speak to her.
He told her he's a coward and that the only reason he didn't contact her was because he thought she wouldn't want him anymore after how they left things. Soooo beta of his personality, but whatever. Then he dropped the love bomb, and voila, Alex accepted him, and at last they're together. I'm not sure how to feel about this, honestly. She should've made him work for it, not just give in easily.
Then the confrontation happened. They were caught kissing by her father, and I thought at this point, Elijah would finally grow some pair to show his best friend that he's serious with his daughter. But nope, even at this scene, Alex was the one who handled everything when it came to her father. I mean, I'm all for women standing up for the things they love, but gooosh, let him handle this one freaking thing. The only thing that Elijah did was stand there by her side and basically watch the show unfold in front of him. 🤦♀️
Idk, how to feel about this so I'm not rating it.

saw someone on my goodreads feed just finish reading this and wanted some short and dirty to cleanse me and this did it. author admits it’s more smut than plot but still had a pretty good plot if you ask me. also something i loved was that the fmc was plus sized but the author didn’t make the entire book about it. mentioned once and on her way, i love when authors don’t make the fmc entire personality about their weight. anyway, if you’re looking for a short, hot book. check this one out.
A good novella with a lot of spice 🌶️! That gives me summer vibes ☀️. This is my first time reading a novel in english and I think it's a good start. I recommend it!
4.5 stars - I love me a silver fox, and this novella delivered!
Alex, at the recommendation of her mom, plans to spend a few days at her parents' vacation home to get away from life stuff. Elijah, the best friend and coworker to Alex's dad, is also sent to the vacation home by her dad because he needs a break from working and to breath a little. Nobody knows the vacation home is empty until Elijah walks in on Alex in the kitchen in an apron...naked.
This was quick and fun. Elijah and Alex were completely comfortable with each other. Despite being a novella, the author was able to build an emotional connection between the characters in the time they spent together at the vacation home. This allowed them to explore some fun kinks that had been on their minds, and I was absolutely tickled by how into it both Elijah and Alex were.
If you like age gap, kink exploration, and need a quick read, definitely pick up Silver Foxed!
Safety warnings: - H 45 / h 30 - No cheating - No OW/OM drama - Breeding kink - HEA

This was a fun age gap novella. It was lighthearted, you love them from the get-go and how they end up in the same place at the same time.
I thought her parents might have played a part in getting them together but that was not the case, it would have been the best twist though.
Alex is 30 and spending the weekend at her parent’s beach house while Elijah is 45 and Alex's fathers’ best friend and co-worker is also given the weekend to go relax at the house but neither nor her parents are aware they double booked the weekend.
They are instantly attracted to each other and can't help but want to indulge in their feelings. Elijah is coming out of a 10-year marriage that had a bitter divorce while Alex was engaged but they break it off.
He has been celibate since his divorce, he knows it's wrong to want to be with his best friend’s daughter, but he cannot help the attraction. They get together in such a seductive way tbh, a few moments had me blushing.
He has no kids, and she dreams of being a mother one day, but she also has a breeding kink which they indulge in. They playhouse for the weekend too, where they pretend to be married.
I loved their chemistry and banter. It was fun to read. They also decided to only allow this to happen for one weekend and walk away after it.
Sadly, both in their own minds want more but know it's not going to be possible for different reasons.
Once the weekend is over, they spend a month apart with no contact and then meet again at an event her father is being honored at. They instantly feel everything they felt before and do not want to spend any more time apart and that is when her father finds out.
It isn't a big BIG thing; he is pissed but he also doesn't make it hard or impossible for them to be together. Her stepmother who was the sweetest (shocking considering most stepmothers in books I read are evil lol) knew right away what was going on when she saw them in the same room.
We get to see them in a year, and they are married.
Holy smut batman! When I tell you the most vanilla scene was the one in the hot tub... This was fantastic. It was steamy, it was romantic and heartfelt. Kayla Grosse has done it again. I've only read her novellas, but catch me reading the full length ones now!
This book just further confirms for me that I like older men 😅.
Love the plus-size rep as always. Especially, that she is confident in her body. The spice and tension were 🔥 Kayla knows how to write good spice.
Yeah it's insta-lust and kinda insta-lovey but after reading 4 of Kayla Grosse's books this just seems to be her style. If you know what you're getting into just have fun and enjoy the 'ride'. 😅🌶️
⤿ .`★ “Ever since we left the lake house, I can’t stop thinking about you. I was an idiot to leave you that way. I was so caught up in what us being together would mean for my relationship with Oliver and my work that I didn’t think of your feelings. Or my feelings, for that matter.”
‧ * ₊ 。 ꒰🍁꒱ This book was a lil corny with the insta-love but it’s as a novella so I can’t expect much… 😣 this was definitely not something I would’ve read in public if I knew it was like that but to late !! Honestly I only picked this book up because the author has amazing skills in convincing someone to read her books 😭 these tropes definitely weren’t for me but I might pick up Grosse’s other books, she has such an amazing writing style and she deserves more recognition 🤭 such a quick silly read but not something I’ll pick up again

I found this on IG and I can read it for free so why not 🤷♀️
I don’t give a $hit about what other reviewers say about this author and her editing. She is amazing. She creates stories with so much feeling and depth in so little pages. Lover her. Will read it all.
I mean the author says it herself in the beginning of the book - this is not a novella about plot - it’s about spice. This was a quick palate cleanser for me, it was about what I expected.
I was lucky enough to read the ARC, and when I tell you I SCREAMED when I saw the email. I’m not exaggerating. Holy shit. I mean, I know Kayla ALWAYS delivers when it comes to spice, but fuck me, this book was NEXT LEVEL. I would kill my family for Elijah. I was BLUSHINGGGG at times, the mouth on that man floored me, that man had me sweating. If you want a TRULY spicy book, read literally ANYTHING Kayla has written. She never fucking misses, NEVER. I stopped breathing SEVERAL TIMES. Anyway, I’ve talked about the spice, but the story itself was absolutely incredible. I love them so much, Elijah and Alex are so perfect and their first interaction was fucking ICONIC. But fr, the second this book is out, read it. You will NOT regret it. And oh my god, the event, damnnn. Not to mention the beach scene, 😮💨🥵. Like their ENTIRE stay at the house will forever stay in my mind.
This was short, fun, cute and SUPER SPICY! I mean damn 😛🌶️ I’m definitely an age gap girly if it’s done right and this was done right! I’d recommend it if you just want a mindless, sexy novella to cleanse your palette.
KU Read - 160 Pages Forbidden Romance (Dads best friend) Age Gap (30-45), Insta Love Weekend hook ups Kinks
A short and spicy novella done right. Alex is staying at her parents make house for the weekend and Elijah turns up after her father had also offered him it for the weekend. Despite the mix up the pair decide to share for the weekend, sparks fly, love blooms but is Elijah willing to risk his relationship with his best friend to date his daughter?
Overall I've found the quality of the author's novels going down since Trick Shot. Almost like she is striving for quantity over quality, since she's released like 4 books back to back directly after Trick Shot and has another two coming soon.
My biggest issue is this reads like a 15 year old girls Wattpad fanfic. A lot of authors get accused of their writing "reading like a fanfic" but I usually never see it but here I did. There was a lot of repetitive thoughts that could've been cut. We were reminded a million times of the circumstances and the characters thoughts on them when we already knew. Not to mention this wasn't just Insta Lust but Insta Love. Now I will give Kayla credit that she made the disclaimer that it was Insta Lust so that's not much of an issue. But they also fall in love within two days with pretty much no real romantic scenes. Like most smut books. Not to mention the logic of the main character was weird. Like your dad's old ass best friend walks in on your damn near naked when you weren't expecting it, apologizes and offers to leave and you say no?? You don't know this man but cuz he's hot he can stay? Also the dialogue in this book was awkward af. It felt so forced and drawn out and these two didn't have chemistry or character. Not to mention I'm noticing that all of Kayla's FMCs (from the three novella's I've read of hers) all read and look the same, they just have different occupations. Like honestly tell me the difference between Riley, Stevie, and Alex? All red-headed, instantly horny, falls in love without knowing the man, green eyes...same "snarky but soft girly girl with a particular shitty ex boyfriend they can't forget about"...etc...
All and all I'll probably stop here with her books. They aren't awful but they could be so much more if time was put into them to expand on the characters and give actual depth to them alongside chemistry even if she just wants to write smut.
This was one of the best spicy novella’s I’ve read. The spice was well-written and the overall story did have some balance with the characters dialogue. I also loved how the author wrote our plus size FMC; I have so much love for narratives that represent all bodies as worthy of love, desire, sensuality and sexual lust.
This novella leans heavily into certain kinks. If you are personally turned off by any of the kinks listed in the author’s note, this may not be for you.
