When Dixie meets wealthy businessman Mitchell Wilcox, she is made an extraordinary offer - she doesn't want to refuse. When she gazes into his eyes, she realizes Mitchell is something special…and all her sexual fantasies will be fulfilled. Through mutual agreement, Dixie becomes the sexual protege of a gentle, but firm dominant. Under his loving guidance, Dixie explores the boundaries of her sexual fantasies and her most intimate desires. The longer they are together, the deeper she falls in love. What she does not dream is that Mitchell has an agenda, that a charade is being played, that he is concealing a secret, one that will shock and thrill Dixie to the core.
The premise of this novella involves a wealthy middle-age man taking on a younger female protégé to teach her the art of sensual submission by having her function as his live-in lover and acting out erotic charades with him. The narrative is told from the perspective of the protégé and often has a florid and breathless quality to it. Dixie vaguely refers to agreeing to this unorthodox relationship with Mitchell but doesn’t provide any real explanation of how or why it came to be.
Charade has very minimal plot to it, just enough to move the story from one sexual scenario to the next. There is some indication that both players are becoming emotionally attached, but that is left hanging when the story concludes. The erotic elements are somewhat varied and risqué without being particularly hard core. They range from first-time anal sex and bare hand spanking to exhibitionistic masturbation and a ménage a trio with Mitchell’s brother Alex.
Overall this is a pleasant erotic read but not particularly noteworthy. It has the feel of a manuscript that needs a little more editing before it reaches its full potential. Author Sabrina Luna has the potential to become an excellent erotica writer. Keep an eye out for her.
