#21 in the Carrier series began the final decline when the series about carrier based airpower detoured into what looked like a pilot for another series and had series centerpiece "Tombstone" Magruder now retired from the Navy and battling domestic terrorists.

Carrier series - The Jefferson carrier task force joins another carrier battle group in the Middle East to support them after a sneak attack upon the aircraft carier United States. At the same time, Tombstone is tagged by the President to head up a new law enforcement unit to deal with militias in the northwestern U.S. U.N. Ambassador Wexler must deal with political machinations from Pakistan regarding the Middle East. And China is covertly assisting North Korea in preparations to invade the south.
