Everyday Tradecraft is a riveting peak into the workings of spies, espionage, and tradecraft, a term used by the Intelligence Community (IC) to refer to the techniques, methods, technologies, sources, and methods that the IC employs to fulfill it’s mission. The author, a seasoned IC professional, effectively demonstrates that these techniques are useful not only in the mysterious world of spies, but are completely transferrable to the civilian world.

What is truly remarkable about this primer, however, is the awareness the author shows of the human condition, so much so that I found myself taking notes. For me, some of the author’s most insightful observations are “if you find yourself as an army of one, you have failed along the way”, “you can and should be able to survive on your own but cannot be expected to thrive on your own”, and “a rising tide lifts all ships”.

I highly recommend this book and am hopeful that this is the first of many works by Marco Aletto.

Very original.

Marco Aletto is the author of Everyday Tradecraft and, in his book, tells all the secrets and tactics that a spy uses to develop their job and explains how it is possible to apply these techniques to different activities of daily life.
I found this book very interesting. I think we have all seen a movie or read a book about spies but we have never thought that it is possible to copy their intelligence to simplify our daily lives. The writing style is as clever as its content. I liked it because it is entertaining and original.
It is the first time that I read a book like this and I enjoyed it.
