This series succeeds because it knows to focus on its strengths’ of consistent level ups, and zany cultivation setting with evermore Sects, pocket dimensions, and monsters. I will say that I don’t always love the “we’re not the good guys” moments, but those are generally relegated to one character making some poor choices. Generally, the story focuses on empowering the increasing cast of the Ashfallen Sect while callously using all outsiders. The truly dark moments are when Stella goes off on her own, but if you set your expectations, it is still fun.
Recommended if you liked the first few books. Generally recommend the series only if you already know what to expect from a morally gray cultivation web serial.

I have enjoyed this series until this book. My biggest issue regarding this part is that is about half of the former books and so is the next. This is also artificially longer because of the opponents in a fight (which was about half of the book), after they were "finished" (as in lost), suddenly got 10 minutes where nobody else did anything.
So when basically there was no continuation of the story (until the last sentence), and the next book is even shorter than this, it looks for me that the author is running out of ideas and wants max pay out.
I will probably read the next book too. However, that one I will return if it doesn't gets more entertaining (and have some content, like not an immature teenage girl taking on a 8yr old as an apprentice and MC thinks a laize faire (?) training/relationship is a good thing, especially in "wartime". .... This last part make me reconsider to give it one more and just return this.. But.. I am reading Primal Hunter/DCCarl/Defiance of the fall (Dresden Files, The dark elf guy with 20+ books and more) for free (!) and got far enough in tenfold more which I couldn't continue because of quality.... :( So I will not return this. (I am also starting to get a problem using all my credits with the plus catalog and as said Tokybook... Lol)

Unfortunately I couldn't finish this book. Really like the series. All but one of the characters are interesting, have logical motivations (ish) and are generally fun to read. But Stella is just infuriating. Maybe the author is just really good at writing a spoiled 16yr old girl, because that's exactly how she acts. Was hoping some of the lessons from the previous books would give some character development, and round out some of her worst traits.
Ashlock has even mentioned that Stella is spoiled and makes bad decisions, but does nothing about it. Once she said she was going to take on an apprentice I was done. I couldn't take another book of Stella getting some random thought and magically just succeeding because of plot armor.
Its a shame because I actually really like the story and want to know what happens next but I couldn't stand any more Stella.

Okay, so the gang survived Nox. Now Stella goes off to become a bounty hunter. They make contact with Nox’s family and forcefully take them in. They start a cult making Tree somewhat divine. Then they start a war because Stella was reckless. They win the war and Tree starts to ascend. This wakes up the big bad Vincent Nightrose and he will now head for them.
This was an interesting and entertaining installment in the series. The pacing is steady. Some character development, little world development. Good overall plot progression. I enjoyed it. Please enjoy

This was such an entertaining book! I loved the journey into the bounty hunting world and I thought the three new families added to the Ashfallen sect were all interesting.
The fight against the Lunarshades was amazing! The way the author started the conflict with a relatively simple ambush that kept escalating into an all out war was masterfully done. Very happy I can finally give a book from this series 5 starts. It's well earned.

This book is a good example of a "cheetos arc". That is, the author has a fight in mind for the content of the book, but for the fight to be interesting the MCs have to take a 100 point IQ dive and sit around eating cheetos for most of the book.
It gets even worse since during the fight as an experiment, one of the MCs shouts her name and affiliation then later bemoans their inability to run because they know her name and affiliation.

tis only the beginning!
Another great read from this series! It was action action action basically the whole book. Less growth in terms of cultivation compared to any of the other books but it’s about to be a big one next book so understandable. Sect is finally out of the shadows and is on fast track to becoming the rulers of at least their part of the realm. Next book is going to start off with a bang so I will see you guys in the next one! Oh and 10/10 this one haha!

Great Read!
Definitely a binge-worthy read if you like action, progression, and game like systems.
Only critique I have is that one of the main characters, Stella, is becoming less and less likeable as the series progresses. However, I’m looking forward to seeing her character development and I trust the author, they haven’t let us down so far!

Buy it.
Great story, great characters, and a great story teller. Buy it even if the subject is of not your usual taste of Reading.
I love the mudcloaks. Especially the Ents that take an adaptive form to match their soul. Turtle Ent with a cannon and a fortress shell inhabitanted by Mudcloaks...Priceless.

Great as always
I am no longer surprised at how much I love this series. Interesting characters, interesting power developments.
The only minor gripe is the main characters can be a bit overpowered, but the author has started fleshing out antagonists and it doesn't really detract from my enjoyment.
Overall this is on track to be one of my favorite litrpg series!

Great book
Yo. I really cant complain. You can really start to feel the characters , the power creep is on point and the flesh out of the system is impeccable. Honestly would like to see more draw but the system bull shimmery is plentiful.

Interesting story
A lot of the intense fighting happened at the very need, giving a taste of what is to come after in the next book. I think the whole series is interesting and each book was well-written and had interesting plots.
