Loved the vibe and design of this vegetarian cookbook that looks straight-up from the 1970's. If you you were just flipping though without reading anything, the layout and colour photos could trick you into thinking you were holding a vintage cookbook. If you are a fellow cookbook nerd, this book is worth checking out just for the design alone.

The author's tone throughout the book is fun and engaging and recipes tend to be very inventive vegetarian takes on classic non-vegetarian dishes. It's wonderful that the author uses ingredients that are fairly accessible regardless of your location but recipes seem to assume the cook has some experience and many are somewhat long and complex. The book is also a bit heavy on alcoholic beverages yet this should be expected given clever drinks is how the author first made a name for herself.

As a meat eater first and foremost, did I think there’d be a lot of interest in these recipes from me? Not particularly. But Mamrie’s palate and wit shine through in some positively DECADENT sounding dishes.

Mamrie is my YouTube #1 from Day 1, so I’ll support her no matter what, but everything in here both fascinates and feeds my curious mind into the world of vegetarian cuisine. Everything looks rich and flavorful, while retaining the down home charm and relatability Mamrie has been known for for years.

If it didn't say vegetarian on the cover, you likely wouldn't even notice! Mamrie has thoughtfully curated menus from start to finish, complete with cocktails and the Morning After Fill, a next-day recipe that uses the leftovers. The recipes are approachable, the ingredients familiar, and the side notes hilarious. The stunning pictures left a meat-eater like me drooling. Really cool to see an author so in their element!

Love the way the book is laid out with several recipes for food/drinks for 10 separate dinner parties
My husband and I made 5 of the recipes from the Fauxncy Steak House section and here is our honest feedback.
We had fun! The recipes were complex and time-consuming. We spent 3.5 hours in the kitchen. We liked all of them but won't repeat any. The ratio of filling to squash was vey mismatched and waaaaay too many onions in the Butternut Be Bone Marrow onion dip. The toast needed for this dip was not listed in the ingredients (but in her story section). We do plan to have some more cooking dates going through the other sections of the book.

So excited to finally receive this book (I’d preordered it but it still took a while to arrive) and as expected it did not disappoint!!! It is STUNNING and sexy (which feels weird to write for a cookbook but it’s so true) and it’s hilariously punny, a beautiful reflection of Mamrie’s personality. And the recipes themselves? DROOL!!! Can’t wait to make all of them! Highly recommend for all my fellow vegetarians but also non vegetarians who love veggies or even just want to eat more of them & not feel like it’s a chore. Way to go Mamrie!!! What a perfect addition to my cookbook collection 😍

A book with lovely, delicious and often easy to make vegetarian recipes. The recipes avoid meat replacements and use mostly veggies. The number off ingredients per recipe is often limited and so doable. The recipes reminded me of an American veggie Jamie Oliver. Absolutely gorgeous photos and design. The interludes and intros by Mamrie are funny as expected.

this is a beautiful cook book and wonderfully well thought out for hosting parties. I think if I drank or hosted parties it would be more useful to me as a source of recipes. as is...most recipes were a bit impractical for week day use. but I will definitely check this out during the winter dinner circuit.

So many good recipes that don’t take a whole arsenal of gadgets to make. Hilarious captions. The most beautiful pictures I’ve ever seen. And a very funny introduction.

This is the most aesthetically pleasing cookbook I've ever seen, and while I don't think Ill actually use it for recipes, I must have it.

This book was gorgeous! Each food shot was stunning. I loved that it was organized into dinner parties. I don't think I'll ever cook one of the full dinner party menus as I lack the counter space and the patience for the dirty dishes. But I'm excited to try some of these recipes and, hopefully, all the cocktails out. I could've sworn I found a couple of typos in my copy. I sometimes got a little confused by the directions, but that's probably my fault for trying to read while the TV was on. Overall, it's worth a read 📚 Definitely a great addition if you love hosting or are trying to up your veggie game.
