There is little one can say about the plot. Succinctly put, it is the story of one day in the life of a car mechanic. Admittedly, not much in itself. But it's hard, raw, violent, sexy, sensitive, funny, poetic and philosophical to boot. It's a page-turner that grabs you by the short and curlies. If you liked the work of Charles Bukowski, then you'll love this book. See www.davidmsamson.com
I suffered through it hoping to find how it ever earned its almost perfect 5-star rating. It HAS to be a friend/family of the author himself or useless robots boosting the reviews because it should be listed below 1 star. Terribly written. No storyline or plot whatsoever- just numbing banter continuously. It almost felt as if the book itself was one giant run-on sentence. I WILL NEVER GET BACK THE TIME THAT WAS WASTED ON THIS "BOOK"!
