I would say this book is suitable for young readers at a third grade level. The content is great for anyone interested in baseball history, ballparks or kids working together to solve a mystery. I know very little about baseball and appreciated the lesson on The Negro League and Satchel Paige. I like how racism was discussed in a straightforward way kids can understand and how it was a big part of this book. The story also provides a lot of talking points about morality, like theft being wrong even when the motivation was well intended or helping solve crime if you're able.
