Oh Baby, IT Snowed Outside is just what I needed in this hot streamy Texas weather. I could almost pretend I was snowed in while sitting in front of the AC. From the first page the building of the sizzling tension between the two was scorching. When that special moment finally happened it was as hot as the month of August summer in the south. As refreshing as a tall glass of sweet cold tea after a scorching hot day. Loved it!
Zane and Aspen have so much chemistry and history. They both have suppressed feelings for the other. But during this snow storm, they make up for lost time.
They both struggle with guilt about acting on their feelings, but in the end if their friends and family wanted them to be happy they would have no problem with it.
It loved the flow of the story and how it mirrored the lyrics to the song.
This was such a fun book to read and it all began at the airport for Aspen the FMC, as she went to pick up her older brother and his best friend who are coming home for Christmas vacation from college. Aspen finds out her brother is stuck at the airport in Arizona while his best friend had an earlier flight and made it home before the blizzard hit. Zane and Aspen spent Christmas together as they ended up being snowed in together at Zane’s house and then the fun began
This book was super good. It was spicy, it was sweet, it was tension, it was brothers best friend. Its about aspen who is the younger sister and her hidden crush on her older brothers best friend who may or may not have been harboring a crush of his own. They get snowed in together and the tension and feelings come to light. If you're looking for a short Christmas romance, this is the book for you
It ended too soon. I would love to see more of these two. This novella has a slow burn feel and a HFN all in under 100 pages. If you are looking for a good short read this is one of them.
If you’re looking for a wholesome Christmas novella, this isn’t it BUT I won’t tell you not to read it🤣 Zane will have you on the naughty list before you can say 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙨, and I promise you’ll like it. These two gave me all of the forbidden, best friend’s little sister, snowed in vibes. Des truly delivered with this naughty Christmas In July story and, hot damn, was it a fun ride 😈
It’s the classic “snowed in with my brother’s best friend” story but with a side of corniness (sorry…having them kind of go along with “Baby it’s Cold Outside” was just weird). HOWEVER, by the end I still wanted it to continue. So…it was good!
Ugh ... I can't believe that ending! I was really enjoying the brother's best friend story but not paying much attention to what was remaining of the book (reading eBook) and I turned the page and BAM it said "The End". I didn't feel like the story was finished, I was excited to see how it was going to turn out Hopefully there will be a second novella to finish up some loose ends!
Oh my holy hell!! I could not put this down. Such a perfect way to escape the summer heat and get into the Christmas spirit. There is no denying the chemistry between Zane and Aspen. That man knew how to deliver on all accounts. I’m gonna need some Christmas lights stat… Every girl needs a Zane in her life. 🥵
*I received a free ARC copy from BookSirens in return for my honest opinion*
Love the story very sweet and spicy. Bothers best friend to lover, virgen trope. A quick read that makes the blood pump faster Totally recommend for those who like their threats extra spicy...
HOTTTTTT DAMMMMMMNNNNNNN!!!! The way this heats you up makes you completely forget that you’re supposed to be reading a Christmas story where they’re snowed it. The description of this book DEFINITELY hits the nail on the head! I swear once I started this book I couldn’t put it down! One handed reading story…. ummmm yes!!! My mind is still reeling from this man. And his mouth?! Absolutely sinful and I’m obsessed!! Move over Santa Claus, I think I’ll have Zane handle my Christmas presents from now on.
Short, spicy little snippet of a novella! This Christmas in July special smutty release is a short read, perfect for a break between larger, more emotion and plot driven reads. It is an imagining of the classic Christmas song Baby It's Cold Outside. Please be aware of your trigger warnings!!!! *This was a free ARC read but is my honest opinion.
Nope! Nope, nope, nope on a rope. There are so many errors, and while I know this is an ARC and editing errors are to be expected, they are bigger than editing mistakes. Some things were just plain careless. I hate inconsistencies in books, and there were a ton in Baby, It Snowed Outside. For example, Zane tied up Aspen, but she can still freely move absolutely every part of her body, including putting her arms around him. Or he set her on the marble countertop in his bathroom, but a couple of paragraphs later, he carries her in his arms to the bathroom to check the bathtub temperature. Or Aspen says it’s her second ever big O, but it’s the third. Some things just didn’t make sense - all those people waiting at the airport gate for a plane to land? That is not even a thing anymore. It’s been over 20 years since that’s been a thing. Breck goes to Stanford, but is stuck in Arizona. Also, the fact that they are in Denver but acting like it’s the Arctic Circle; Aspen’s jeans froze so quickly that ice crystals were stuck to her legs. It would be one thing to all about those things hyperbolically, but as actual events that occurred, just no.
My two BIGGEST issues of the book are the age of the MCs and the overbearing brother. First, the age. Aspen is in HIGH SCHOOL. Zane has just finished his first semester at college. That is not Contemporary Romance, that is NA AT BEST, YA if we really want to be technical. I wouldn’t have read this book had I known that. The MCs are waaaaay too immature and literal children. And Zane says something about the girl he’s been thinking about (in a dirty way) for years. Y’all. She’s in HIGH SCHOOL. That one line totally crossed over into ped territory for me. The big brother thing is totally not my jam. First of all, whenever a big brother is involved, we’re always going to have infantilizing of the FMC (*little* sister, *baby* sister). Why can’t it ever just be sister? And - God help me, I’m not into feminism or “down with the patriarchy”or anything like that - big brother’s rules imply ownership of little sister. Please stop with this crap. The fact that “big brother” has a “baby sister” does not negate her autonomy. I hate it, and I also have never met anyone IRL who is like this. Why is it such a popular trope? Are people actually like this?
Anyway, I received an ARC of Baby, It Snowed Outside from BookSirens. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Whew, that dedication alone!!! Zane and Breck have been best friends since middle school. Breck has a younger sister, Aspen, that he has always been close with. Breck and Zane are flying back home for Christmas and Aspen is tasked with picking them up at the airport. Breck's flight gets canceled therefore she is left alone with Zane. Zane convinces Aspen that it is not safe for her to go home and that she should stay at his place. Zane and Aspen have had feeling for each other for years but neither ever acknowledged it because they didn't want to hurt Breck. Finding themselves alone on Christmas Eve, they finally give into temptation. Aspen is eighteen and saved herself for Zane because he is her dream guy. Throughout the story though she goes through moments of guilt because she doesn't want to ruin any the friendship between Zane, herself, and her brother. I wanted her to recognize that if Breck's friendship with Zane was solid he would want them to be happy. Zane is absolutely swoon worthy! He has wanted Aspen for the longest time and now that he has her he won't give her up even if it costs him his best friend (unless it is her choice). He is patient with her and gives her every opportunity to walk away so that she doesn't have any regrets. He growls, talks dirty, and uses a bit of holiday themed play! I definitely reccomend if you want a quick, fun, spicy read!
Fast read. Smutty Christmas novella. Play on words with the song of Baby it snowed outside. At first I was like okay that’s a bit of an over use of words but then it all clicked where she used the song in correlation to the story line. Zane and Aspen have suppressed their feelings for each other for a long time. Zane takes advantage of a blizzard trapping them in his home to see if Aspen feels the same way. A bit of a quick background on both characters but not much of a plot other than the fact that they like one another and the tension is there until it’s not.
The big thing here is that she used the song for the story line. This is why aspen keeps wanting to leave. He keeps saying it’s cold outside, she suggests one drink, he gives it her. Go listen to the song after and it will make sense. Also there’s a bit of controversy with the song so I think that the fact that Zane asked Aspen multiple times if she was okay/consenting to what they were doing is a big part of it too.
But as a work of fiction if you like… Brothers best fiend, virgin, close proximity, this is a perfect short Christmas smut novella for you.

The one thing I enjoy about most novellas is that they are quick reads that wrap up with a pretty little bow. This one, however, left SO many questions! The story was good, but the abrupt ending just left me reeling and, instead of feeling satisfied, I felt shortchanged. This book seemed more destined to provide brief entertainment or a quick distraction rather than a real, thorough storyline.
Prior to reading this book, I have only read one other book by Des Sweet. The book was “B is for Bonnie” and the difference between these books are night and day. This story is so sweet but at the same time so very steamy! I was not sure what the book was about because I chose to do a blind read. I feel like this enhances my reading pleasure because there are no preconceptions about the story or characters. I was very excited after reading this book. Who hasn’t fantasized about a brother’s best friend? In my case he was just a friend of my brother…and we have now been married for 15 years! But I digress… You will fall in love with the story, the MMC and the FMC. Thank you, Des Sweet, for such a beautiful, sweet and sexy story! Now to dive into the Des Sweet book pile!!
Starting off the first thing I noticed is how much chemistry and history Zane and Aspen have. To me this always makes a good story. They both have suppressed feelings for each other which makes the story that much better. But during this snow storm, they definitely make up for lost time.
After their moment of passion, they both struggle with a lot of guilt about finally acting on their feelings. But in the end if their friends and family wanted them to be happy they finally came to the conclusion that they would have no problem with it. And if they did then it wouldn’t matter the only thing that mattered is how much they wanted and needed each other. I really loved the flow of the story and how it mirrored the lyrics to the song. I also love how easily this quick little read sucked me in can’t wait to read more.
I love Des' characters Aspen and Zane. Aspen has crushed on Zane forever, but he is her brother's best friend, so taboo. Zane has been in love with Aspen and terrified that Breck will hate him for it.
When a sudden snow storm strands them together, and leaves big brother far away, Aspen and Zane finally give voice to their feelings.
What I really enjoy about Des' writing is that it isn't just about the spicy scenes, (though let me tell you, the dirty talking sexy Zane had me fanning myself), it was also the way the characters treat each other and communicate. They both talk through potential consequences to their relationship and decide that what they have is important enough to brave it.
All in all, it's a sweet, sexy, scorching hot novella.
Des Sweet had me wishing for snow. What's a guy to do when his best friend's sexy little sister picks him up from the airport and it's too dangerous to drive her all the way home? What's a girl to do when her brother's best friend traps them in his empty home on Christmas Eve with nothing but years of pent up desire? This short, steamy novella draws a line in the snow where thoughts of betraying your brother and best friend crash against years of desire and unresolved feelings. I devoured this book like a hot chocolate on a cold winter's night and needmore. Wonderful characters, excellent storyline with a stellar climax.
Des Sweet brought us a little naughty Christmas in July and I’m here for it!
❄️Virgin FMC ❄️Brother’s Best Friend ❄️Forbidden ❄️Shibari ❄️Obsessive MMC ❄️Based on Christmas Song
Aspen and Zane have secretly had feelings for each for years. When they are snowed in together, they are faced with making the decision to give in and betray her brother and his best friend, or keep fighting their feelings.
“Beautiful girl, please don’t hurry home. I don’t want to wake up alone for Christmas.”
The tension and build up was hot and Zane’s mouth is filthy and delicious! 🤤 This was the perfect spicy novella and I loved the lyrics to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” sprinkled throughout the book.
What would you do if a snowstorm gave you the chance of a lifetime? Zane & Aspen are about to find out! if a teenage crush can be more! Forced proximity gives them the chance to move from friends to lovers in the best friends younger sister steamy story. I enjoyed the plot line, liked the characters & appreciate a quick read now & then. If you're looking for a hot, steamy, sexy story you can read over the lunch hour, this is your book. It's spicy, a little angsty & filled with young love. I do wish the story would have been long enough to explain the relationship to Aspens brother, but I know there is a word count limit. I enjoyed it!
Aspen is picking up her brother and his best friend in the middle of a snowstorm. When her brother’s flight is canceled due to the inclement conditions, Aspen finds herself alone with Zane, their neighbor and her brother’s best friend. Aspen has been a little bit in love with Zane for as far back as she can recall. Having him all too herself as the storm rages outside seems like an act of providence. When they act on their physical attraction, is there any room for real feelings? What will happen if Aspen’s brother finds out?
I received an advance reader copy from booksirens, and I’m pleased to share my honest opinion.
When I chose this book, I was not expecting it to be about two teenagers. As I went through, most of it, it seems like the author also forgot she was writing about teenagers. Their words, actions and thoughts were so incongruous with their age. The back and forth about the brother Breck and Aspen saying she wanted to leave, got old really quick. Judging by the way Zane kept coercing Aspen into giving up her V card, it is no wonder the brother would be angry. Not only was he coercing her, but he gave her drugs and alcohol. How desperate is that. Not at all as good as I have seen from this author.
Brother's best friend Obsessive MC Forced proximity Lite dub con Drug & alcohol use Virgin FMC
I love the brother's best friend trope and when I read this author, I'm never disappointed! It was short, spicy and sweet all at once!
Aspen and Zane gave me all of the forbidden, brother's best friend, snowed in vibes. Des truly delivered with this naughty Christmas in July story and it was a good one!
If you're looking for a short Christmas romance, this is the perfect book! 🎄
What an enjoyable read this book was. Brother’s best friend at its best. The entire book is about one day, Christmas Eve, and the tension that builds between Aspen and Zane is absolutely delicious.
Neither wants to disappoint Breck, Aspen’s brother/Zane’s best friend, but the attraction to each other is so much stronger.
The only thing missing is an epilogue, because I would love to know how Breck reacts and if they will be a couple from now on.

A steamy short story. Zane and Aspen were cute together. I love a forced proximity, forbidden romance. Only this was more of a forbidden lust, instead of romance. Zane started out romancing Aspen until she started giving him and the reader whiplash going back and forth on whether she should stay or go. Rather annoying. But at the end it left me wanting more. Did they stay together? What happens when the brother and families find out about their relationship?

I gobbled up this story. It was such a fun, snowed-in story. If you like your MMC a little obsessed and love to be called a good girl, Zane is your man. Aspen is his best friend's little sister, but at some point all of that changed for both of them. When her brother misses his flight and can't get another one due to a raging blizzard, she's "stuck" picking up only Zane. There's some maybe not so forced proximity that forces them to face their feelings. The story doesn't go beyond Christmas, but it doesn't need to. It was a fun, quick, spicy read.
