My husband recommended this book after discovering David’s YouTube channel (and consequently his writing) as a means for me to gain a better understanding in how autism affects him. We both loved it and learned a lot of new information that will serve well in navigating life together. Additionally, while I myself am not autistic, it has been theorized by others that I might be “a little bit.” Thanks to this book, I now know that I definitely have some characteristics and as a result can have better conversations when the topic does arise.

Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn more without reading text that’s overly dense.

A while ago, I read the book Secrets of the Autistic Millionaire by David W. Plummer. And to say that the book influenced me is probably a grotesque understatement. It was the spark, the motivation to write and publish my own story. (ISBN-13: 9783769366570)

Some time ago, I also bought his second book:

The Nonvisible Part of the Autism Spectrum

This book surprised me a little—both in good and not-so-good ways. On the downside, there isn’t much new to learn that one wouldn’t also encounter in Secrets of the Autistic Millionaire.

On the upside, the presentation and tone are different. While the first book is strongly autobiographical, the second one is more descriptive in nature, with David serving as an example of how the autism spectrum can manifest itself. He repeatedly emphasizes that he can only present a small part of the whole picture.

In that sense, it might be less of a “second book” and more of an alternative: Those who want to immerse themselves in the autistic world of a nerd should pick up Secrets. Those looking for a description of symptoms and possible coping mechanisms may find The Nonvisible Part of the Autism Spectrum more useful.

Both volumes are enjoyable to read, and the humor that resonates throughout the writing adds to the experience.

Such an interesting book. Dave was someone I briefly met when I worked at Microsoft, and to learn how he has successfully lived his life with autism was a fascinating read.

You do not have to have autism or be anywhere close to the spectrum to gain understanding and appreciation for those who are.

Very helpful book

As I read this book I could identify many characteristics apply to my son, who was diagnosed with ADHD. He has other behaviors for which some of the autistic features seem to apply. Very worthwhile reading.

This book helped my husband and I understand the dynamics and struggles in our relationship over our 40-year marriage. Very illuminating, easy to read succinct coverage of the many aspects of having ASC’s (Autism Spectrum characteristics), which might be subclinical ASD.

Working Analysis of Autism

Plummer provides an introspective and honest look at his life with ASD. He analyzes his own experiences and provides helpful insights for partners navigating the extra twists of life with autism. The guidance is sound and helpful, a primer before diving deeper with reading or diagnosis.
