Conquer Your Stutter!

Rate this book
An Ex-Stutterer shows the way with some real answers.Yes, you can conquer that stutter and this book will help you do it. You CAN loosen the grip of that stutter. You CAN regain your confidence. You CAN make real strides into speech fluency. In many cases you CAN even conquer that stutter. Now I expect at this stage you're reacting as I used to - "Oh yes? - quit joking! I'm stuck with a stutter and that's the way things are". I hear you - but don't walk away just yet. Give yourself - and this book - a chance. Not so long ago, I was there too. I was in my mid-twenties, single, fairly normal, fairly hard-working, brilliant surfing dude, etc, etc! But I had a stutter. It had started in my mid-teens when I transferred to a large, academic High School where everybody seemed to score 95% in every exam they took! Basically, I was out of my depth, and became more and more stressed. I started to pick up a bit of a stutter, which got progressively worse. Over the months my self-esteem plummeted. I started to avoid social situations like the plague. Trying to get the words out felt like someone was strangling me - I automatically tensed up, tried to "push" the words out and plunged further into the speaking abyss. Then I started to get angry! Why should my life be ruined by this stuttering? Why was it happening anyway? I got into studying the whole question of stuttering. It took time, effort and money. The results were interesting, to say the least. Much of what I found was too complicated and technical, or too simple, such as ... “just spit it out!”. Thanks a million – just what I needed to hear! But in the midst of it all, there was useful information, and gradually I started putting some answers into practice in my daily life. Sometimes I made progress, but sometimes it all seemed a cruel waste of time. Over the weeks my speech did steadily improve – even I could see that! I gradually became more confident, practising my new, more fluent speech in progressively harder and harder situations, until smooth fluent speech became a habit. The main difficulty I found in my research was sifting through all the information. There is so much out there on stuttering, that it took me ages to decide what was useful and what wasn’t. Usually I could only decide this by experience, by trial and error – and that process took time, effort and cash! What I needed more than anything was a clear, simple, thorough set of guidelines to follow. So I came to a decision. After my speech had improved I would write my own “stuttering guide” for fellow sufferers. It would be as non-technical as possible, and as honest as possible. It would show clearly what steps are necessary for someone to conquer their stutter. It would leave out the non-essentials and concentrate on what really matters. It would be friendly and encouraging. It would be based on my own experience. And here is that Guide. It has been written to help my fellow stutterers – people just like you. This book is bulging with help, hope, advice, instruction, encouragement and support - and with good reason! Because what it teaches WORKS! No matter what other therapy you may be having already, this book will give you valuable extra help in the slam-your-stutter fight. Perhaps you've given up on treatment, or have never bothered with any. Again, no matter. Quite simply "Conquer Your Stutter!" is effective - and worth every cent. Here are real answers – simple, practical, straightforward, and effective. I found them, tested them, improved them - and conquered with them. Here they are for you.
