Lustmord: Anatomy of a Serial Butcher Vol. 6
Dear Reader:
Initially, we were not going to respond to "Toot Sweet's" blatantly false claims regarding unchecked grammar & punctuation, as well as over-usage of caps & that our proofreader is not very professional & therefore must not "give a –––."
This could not be further from the truth. Not only did the novel require years of research, but the writing itself took over two decades, and every aspect, from cover illustration to cover graphics to proofreading (by the conscientious and proven Diana Cox, who is used by one of the most successful and respected indie writers of all time, namely the great Joe Konrath) to ebook formatting that cost plenty, we used top-notch professionals in their various and varied fields.
Should anyone need additional proof regarding "Toot Sweet's" ridiculous claims, all one has to do is take a look at the 20 (yes, twenty!) book "reviews" this individual has posted between Dec. 5, 2012 and Dec. 20, 2012!
Now, I ask you: Can anyone genuinely read, and I don't mean skim through or breeze through or leaf through, this many books in such a short period of time & give a fair assessment or even be aware of what he/she is reading? The Bionic Woman might, or the TV character Genie (from I Dream of Genie) might, but we sincerely doubt this "reviewer" possesses such impressive reading and/or reviewing ability.
In essence, what we are saying here is that "Toot Sweet" does not have any idea what she/he is talking about. Anyone who has read even just a single volume of Lustmord: Anatomy of a Serial Butcher, will easily back us up here. Not only does "Toot Sweet" have her characters mixed up, but she doesn't seem to have the ability to tell when characters (deliberately) mispronounce certain words and speak the way they speak simply because not everyone in this world and society we exist in is particular about that. Just like "Toot Sweet," certain individuals (in the novel) are lousy spellers, and have less than stellar grammar skills, and also have a difficult time stringing more than two (coherent) sentences together. What can you do?
We made this effort to point things out, lest someone actually believe this person's outrageous claims.
Lastly: to the many readers who have downloaded various volumes of Lustmord: Anatomy of a Serial Butcher, as well to those who plan to in the future, we humbly thank you for supporting this greatest of genres that we love and have such tremendous respect for. We hope you enjoy the ride. K.A.
