Hi everyone, I am Koyel Mitra from India. I am an M.Sc B.Ed in Mathematics and teach Math at a government high school. I am the author of 8 books- 3 poetry and 4 short stories and 1 drama so far. My other hobbies include singing, drawing, sketching, painting, listening to music and reading books. Hop over to my website if you like www.koyelevergreen.wordpress.com My recent book is a short story titled 'Aqua'.I am the author of four more collaborative books like Mirrored Voices, Coffeeshop Blues, Coffeeshop Blues-Traveler's Edition, Mirrored Voices: Best Contemporary Poetry. My newest poetry book is titled" A Poet's Nook". It is available in paperback edition.
Impassioned and informative, this little crunch of a ruby of a book and is breaking new ground in that it does not immitate and will only lead onto immitation. Koyel shows here what is possible with a dedication to poetry. The book itself is arrow straight, yet twirling around the arrow is the subjectivity of the general term 'poetry'. This is combined beautifully with the objective disciplines ruled within each poetry genre. I would describe this work as a book within a book wrapped up in a comforting hug. Koyel has pulled off a coo here by melding the soul of poetry with the cane of form. This book is both entertaining and essential.
I found the book 'Inspiration' while surfing the good reads.I had read some of Koyel Mitra's poem in PH sometime back.It was good to know that those flowers of imagination took final place in the collection. Her poems depict vivid aspect of life and existence. There is an effort for maintaining the rhyme but the free verse is still maintains the beauty of the muse. Her poem 'Enchantment' appealed to me with its simple charm beyond compare. The 'Clocks of ages' is a well thought simple statement of state of mind of most of our Indian ladies passing time at home waiting for their better half.As a poet myself I love poetry and here is one good good work by Koyel Mitra.
Ms. Mitra not only introduces us to thirty seven different types of poetry but takes time to explain the dynamics of each, thus making it an educational resource for all budding poets as well as a delightful read
