Shawn was born and bred in Baytown, Texas and believes that Texas is the greatest country on planet Earth.
As a kid, he played all sports: baseball, football, and basketball. He'd hoped to be a professional athlete one day, but it never happened. When he was nineteen, and sports were no longer a priority, working and going to college were, he read his first science fiction book—sparking an intense love for story—and has been reading books (sci-fi, thriller, horror, etc) ever since.
He received a B.S. in Electrical Technology from the University of Houston. Afterwards, he worked in various jobs: Electrical Technician, ESL Teacher, Sales Engineer, and Engineer/Project Manager—always dreaming of becoming a writer.
Shawn lives with his (way!) better half, Lilly, in Houston, Texas.
I kind of liked the book. I have no problem with the way Chloe dispenses justice. The story was pretty good. The major problem I had was with the editing. Wrong words were used. ‘He’ instead of ‘She’. Using a third person viewpoint in one paragraph to be followed by a first person viewpoint in the following paragraph. And sloppy. If you shoot someone in the chest, he isn’t going to have the back of his head blown off. Mistakes like that take you out of the story.
Might have given this book a five if someone would have read it and corrected all the errors. Clhle and her little brother were abused in foster care after their mother was murdered. She became a hit woman and Henry became a cop but they stayed close.
Chloe Creed reminds this reader of Beatrice Kiddo, but without the Katana. She is another assassin with a heart, and just like Kiddo, is relentless in pursuit of her vengeance...
Rose is an interesting character. She is a contract killer but she only kills the bad guys. She is looking for the man who abused her and her younger brother, Henry. The hunt gets interesting when she finds out there is a hit out on her brother. She is ruthless in getting to the monster who abused them as children. There are lots of twists and some mystery into the methods she uses but overall she is ridding the world of pedophiles and that is a good thing. Nothing is bad enough for punishment so don't feel bad for her victims. She is saving the youngest victims from these guys. It is a book that grabs your interest right from the beginning. The ending leaves you wanting more and implies that there is more to come.
This book went straight to the action and kept you mesmerized from the very beginning. The characters were interesting and horrible depending upon their roles in the story and most of the horrible ones got exactly what they deserved in the end. I appreciated that the author avoided going into detail the abuse the children of this story endured. It also offered an inside view of what happens in the child sex trade business which we know still exists today. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it
I liked this book. It's about a young woman named Chloe, although her clients call her Rose. There is a contract put out on two cops, unfortunately for the criminals, one of the cops is her brother. Read this book to discover the ending and to understand why Chloe is a contract killer.
Good story with plenty of action! I don't usually like stories about child-enslavement but this one grabbed my attention in the protagonist, Rose. She reminds me a lot of Mark Dawson's Beatrix Rose. So dangerous, so talented in killing and so remorseless! For these pedophiles, they deserve everything she does to them.
A very good book but wish the ending would have let us readers know what happened to all the monsters. There were quite a few spelling and grammatical errors but I really enjoyed the book. Always willing to read more free books.
