Requiem: Young Adult Paranormal Vampire & Ghost Fiction

Rate this book
From the chilling echoes of her personal haunt to the arrival of a malevolent entity, Alice's resilience is put to the ultimate test in "Requiem."

While Alice confronts the gravity of her internalized grief and guilt, her bond with Gesick—the flirty, book-loving introvert taking up residence in her heart—has become complicated, to say the least. Alarmed by the relentless grip of his bloodthirsty addiction, Alice strikes a dangerous bargain, in a desperate bid to save him, with the one woman who dominates her regrets.

Enigmatic and alluring, Wolf's presence both comforts and unnerves Alice as she navigates the treacherous underbelly of that space between life and death. With Gesick's secrets unraveling at her feet, and Wolf's demons closing in, Alice is faced with an impossible trust Wolf to guide her through the obstacles of her newfound abilities, or become ensnared in a web of deceit and betrayal between Wolf and her brother, Pope.

In a volatile underworld, a sinister force is dead set on vengeance, threatening not only Alice's physical safety but her very essence. Will she emerge victorious, or succumb to the relentless assault on her soul?
Being a vampire is anything but boring.

"Requiem" plunges readers into the realms of the supernatural, weaving a tale of peril, redemption, and the unyielding bonds that bind us together in the face of our worst nightmares. Prepare to be spellbound by this haunting sequel that pierces straight through the heart of obsessive-compulsive darkness into pure terror.

🤔A rather disappointing sequel...

Alice peeked through the gap in her blackout curtains and observed the surrounding nature.

She was waiting for her ghost Lo to finally appear...

*********

As much as I liked so much the originality of volume 1 which recounts the transformation and the wanderings of Alice, this volume 2 really leaves me perplexed and a little disappointed.

It’s still unique writing, very detailed, emotionally strong and which takes you into a rather gory horror universe.

The surprise of the novelty having passed with reading volume 1, I found this volume 2 rather very flat, very gory and I wondered for a long time where this whole story was ultimately taking us...

I nevertheless recommend it to fans of the genre.

This was so well done and had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. The characters were everything that I was looking for and enjoyed from the description. Blakely Chorpenning has a great way of telling the story and was invested in what was going on in this. I hope there is more from Blakely Chorpenning as this was really well written.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
