This was just so meh. There was a little pocket in the middle that I liked, but other than that... meh. A great concept, poorly executed.
Camille is a nursing student with an addict brother and a sick mother. Camille works to provide for them, while her brother gambles away her money. If Rob, her good-for-nothing brother, wasn’t in the story, this book would have been ten times better. Camille was TSTL, she was so annoying. She should have just shut up for fifty percent of the book.
Erik is a Bratva mob boss with the emotional range of a door knob. He wants a son to complete his legacy and whatever. He’s just so booooorrrrring.
Overall, if you are desperate for a mafia romance, this is, in fact, a mafia romance. I can give it that, but if you do mind scraping the barrel of mafia romance, probably don’t read this.

No secret that I love me some Bratva/Mafia romance, so I was surprised that I hadn't already read anything by Nicole Fox....judging from her book list it seems she specializes in it. And because of that, I had high expectations. I needed pretty much everything to hit the mark especially since of the three ARC reads prior to it, I only finished 1. I was desperate for a homerun. Of all the different dynamics within the mafia world, the "paid to carry his heir" thing wasn't one I'd yet to experience. I wasn't too sure how it would work out without being a little cringey. I was completely blown away with just how well it did work. I loved so many aspects of Nicole's writing & this story that it would take forever to list them. I am stingey with my stars, and this one earned every single one of the five stars I have to give.

Book Facts: Told in dual POV, this standalone read is an intense & exciting read where loyalties are tested and betrayals are everywhere. The boss of the Ivanovich Bratva needs an heir. Hes smoking hot, rich, & powerful but not just any woman will do. So when an art auction puts Camille Green in his path he can't help but immediately proposition her. Little does he know that Camille is desperate for the money, with a chronically ill mother & a drug & gambling addict little brother. Its just a business transaction, no romance & no reason for her to know what he does. But all too soon it becomes so much more.....Camille must decide if she can love a man as ruthless as Erik, he must decide if loving her will be his weakness & ultimately his downfall. Because there is more than one person outside their mansion walls wanting to claim the throne, & its going to take both the King & his Queen to fight their enemies. This does end in a HEA. This is a very "light" dark romance (no triggering sexual situations, only criminal violence).

Starting: After two reads that didn't quite do it for me, here's to hoping third times the charm.
12%: So many aspects are fascinating &/or exciting! The "auction" concept was unique & really cool.
22%: I really hate her brother but Camille is so freaking selfless. Seriously going to love her & Erik together.
30%: I LOVE Camille but I'm going to need her to simmer down on the bitchy-ness towards him.
47%: I have a bad feeling about this girl.....this is too convenient suddenly.
55%: Gawh I love them BUT where tf is the car?
65%: Thank goodness someone knocked Camille a peg or two down.... now lets hope it sticks.
80%: I feel like something is going to happen to completely screw up their happiness.
87%: I KNEW it..... freaking douche-snitzel.
92%: Intense & heartbreaking....& satisfying. So many different emotions!
96%: I love how it kinda comes full circle in a way.
Finished: This proves a Bratva romance can still be intense, hot, & exciting with an antihero that doesn't treat his "woman" like shit. I LOVED this book.

Me Currently:
1. I wasn't sure if the whole heir plotline would make sense but it was set up perfectly from the start. From how these two connect to why he would go that route (& why he would need).
2. All too often, the antihero of these type of romances (Bratva/Mafia) are almost irredeemable. Their actions & the way they treat the heroine until the "love" lightbulb moment is all the same. It was refreshing to meet an antihero who wasn't anything like that. That's not to say he is all flowers & chocolate BUT he is respectful & sensitive to her from the start.
3. The whole Fyodor dynamic of the story is super interesting to me. I loved that it felt like both a major driver in the romance side of things but also had enough life to carry on its own sub-plot.
4. I loved these two, they are written in a way that you could totally see these being a real couple. Their bickering, their sarcasm & dry humor, the way they talk to each other....and especially the way they are intimately ---it is red hot!
5. After such an intense "finale" of sorts, I loved seeing how their relationship & HEA looked. But quite possibly my fav thing is how they started with the "art auction" & it comes full circle (just in a totally different way).
"His eyes are locked on me the whole time, his eyebrows furrowed almost in surprise. It’s like he’s been waiting his entire life to feel this. I can empathize. I feel exactly the fucking same."
Overall, I absolutely loved everything about this story. I will go as far as to say it is one of my most fav Bratva reads. I definitely recommend everyone diving into this one.

I wonder if the Author of this book is actually an Author this was a complete disaster of mass proportions. Who says lame as a word to a Mafia boss who by the way is a total chicken head.. nope. Nope and nope so tired of all these writers just putting trash out there.. if I could give it a 0 it would still be to much of a score. If your looking for a true mafia book don't bother. There are some amazing mafia authors out there.. this is not one of them..

I really liked Camille at the beginning but then all of the extra snark and the fact that she needed to shut up sometimes just got on my nerve. I feel bad for her and she is a tougher character but not a huge fan.
Erik was not a strong boss character. There is so much mutiny in this book which took him so long to see. He just doesn’t earn my respect.
Plot was so slow. I didn’t like any of the characters. Rob, Camille’s brother should have been gone a long time ago. Camille shouldn’t have protected him but he sure as heck didn’t deserve her kindness. What an idiot.
Overall, I have just read so many other so much better mafia books, I’m passing on this one.

Once again this talented author had written another thrilling Bratva romance story. Camille and Erik have intense chemistry between them from the very beginning. This is a well written flawless story which is gritty, thrilling, and a steamy which all have me totally enthralled throughout this tale, and I highly recommend for all readers.

Erik is a mob boss who is having issues with his men. His uncle tells him it would help if he marries and has a child. He goes to an auction where he buys Camille’s virginity and offers her a deal. At first, she says no but she needs the money for her family and finally agrees. Will she learn who and what Erik his and will she be in danger just by being with him. Great chemistry, loads of drama and emotion. I really liked it.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was a great with the having characters that are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry. The flow of the storyline was steady and smoothly.

Loved the book.
I always read The reviews before getting a book. What is with The reviewers? If I want a synopsis of the book I can read it under "The Description" . Basically all of the reviews are The same .... I didn't get an advance copy and I will still give you a honest review.
The first 25% of the book I hated it. I was getting angry at the author for putting down words that made me think she needed to do some research on Disability and Medicaid laws. Then POOF!!! Camille opens her mouth and the book is so funny. The title says 'dark mafia romance'. No. No. It had me laughing
Funny parts: only a few. You have to read the book to get the rest.

YET.....I can illegally sneak into this country and not only get free healthcare but also free food and housing? ........"This is for Mom, I remind myself. Everything I do is for her. This will be no different. "
We have Disability insurance and Medicaid. The hospital will reduce the amount you owe 50% if you pay cash. I know what I am saying isn't a good storyline....but .

I’ve only recently started reading Mafia romances and I have to say I think it was great that I stumbled on Nicole Fox Mafia Romance stories.
This particular story was a good read. Camille has allowed herself to sold to help pay for her mother’s medical bills. She has been working to try to keep up but her useless brother hasn’t helped by getting himself indebted to the Mob with gambling debts. Erik bids on Camille and wins her by bidding a very hefty amount of money, then offered her even more if she will have his child. Camille sees how fast the money from the auction is being spent on her mother’s medical bills so she ends up agreeing to having his child.
Time passes and Erik and Camille begin getting along and find out that yes, she is pregnant and is carrying Erik’s child.
Being a Mob boss means you are always looking over your shoulder, not just to keep ahead of your known enemies, but your hidden enemies as well. Camille’s brother Rob turns out to be one of those enemies and he begins to become a threat to her safety. Erik has to keep his eyes open on a number of fronts.
This story like all mob stories contain guns, knives, blood, enemies. The story moves well and I found myself routing for Erik and Camille to have that life that they want with their new little one.
**there is an opportunity to get an extended Epilogue for this story, take advantage of it! It adds to the story!
A quick read that is full of action, sex and twists and turns. I highly recommend this story.

She needs money and he needs an heir...........but can they also find love and romance
Owned by the Mob Boss is the story of Erik and Camille and it an engaging story. She is a young woman with a lot of responsibility and never enough money. She is attending nursing school and also working two jobs to try and pay the bills. But her mother is sick with MS and her brother is no help. When she is fired from one of her jobs she needs to get some quick money. So she turns to a virginity auction.
Erik is the head of the Bratva but he needs to cement his legacy, at least according to his uncle. There are also internal issues happening within the ranks of his men. So he needs to act quickly but also with prudence as he needs to find someone that has not been touched by any of his men and is trustworthy. So he attends the auction and when he sees Camille he knows she is the one so he pays the highest price of the night.
When they meet they have one night together. But Erik offers to double the payment if she agrees to have his baby. There are other things happening at the same time during this which keep the suspense and danger heightened in the story.
Overall this is a really great story with interesting characters. I may have wanted to smack Camille sometimes, as she had an "attitude for days" but in the end I just loved the chemistry between Camille and Erik.

If you're looking for an FMC that is a breathing doormat then look no further than Camille. The winning bid goes to Bratva boss Eric who seems decent enough for a guy buying a girls virginity.
I do love how the author took zero effort to look up what a nursing course load would look like and just always calls the classes "nursing classes", but Camille only attends classes and not clinicals. Then there is the issue of her mother being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis said to be in stage one yet she is bed bound and cannot walk. Stage one of MS comes with its bad days, but early MS symptoms are mild. The details were obviously poorly researched and it just feels a little lazy and it bugged me from the standpoint of a person that worked 15 years in healthcare with multiple MS patients.

I really enjoyed reading this excellent mafia romance with a somewhat dark undertone. The plot is well-written, suspenseful & full of good scene descriptions. The characters are well-developed & portray believable emotional turmoil while having to make some heart-wrenching decisions, while another one is trying to deal with the betrayal of some trusted men. There is good support from the secondary characters.

AMAZING AN OUTSTANDING READ THAT WILL KEEP YOU HOOKED TILL THE VERY LAST WORD
Camille is in a bad place. Her mother is very poorly and the medical bills are mounting. Her brother is a soul sucking gambling addict who spends Camille's money like she is the richest woman in the world. Once again he owes people money so he tells Camille about a place she can go and sell her virginity for big money " to pay of their mum's medical bills" Its the answer to all their problems so he says. Maybe if it was him losing this virginity for money he would think differently but Cam gets desperate when she loses one of her job
Erik has been told he needs a heir but the women he uses are not worthy of this honour so he goes to Archangel Vision auction. And this is where he sees Camille. And straight away he knows he must have her.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I really enjoyed the banter, I was so happy she wasn't a yes girl. Someone to stand up to the Bratva boss!!!

Holy freaking wow!!! This book was amazing and I devoured it. This is the story of Erik who was content to run the bravado. He loved being feared by everyone but he was also a problem solver. Keeping the cops at bay and making sure everyone that is loyal to them is really loyal. One day though his uncle puts the though of an heir in his head and this is where Camille comes in. She is really struggling to keep her head above water. Her bills, taking care of her sick mother and her brother plus she is going to nursing school. The girl is in over her head and Erik just might have the answer to solving all her problems by buying her virginity in a auction. I loved these two and the story they have to tell is really really good. If you love mafia romances like I do, then you will love this book.

This is the first book I read of Ms. Fox and she did not disappoint. Yeah it had some violent moments but to me that was just background to the main focus of the book. Can a mob boss find trust and love? Only thing I can say that didn't make me rate this book full five stars is Camille's attitude during three quarters of the way in the book. My thing is why have this belligerent attitude towards the person you need money from. He offered, you made decision to take. You might not like the fact you had to make these decision(selling yourself due to money issues) but he didn't force you. She redeemed herself in my eyes when she finally understood Erik as a person not just what his "profession" made him out to be. Erik to me was the best. Ms. Fox made him a person a woman could fall in love with despite his profession. The best part of the book that made me go awwww soooo sweet was when they had a "moment of truth" after Erik got of jail...perfect! Thanks Ms. Fox for a wonderfully written book. I will look forward to more of your books in the future.

wow .. getting better ...
Erik is Russian Bratva. He needs an heir but Erik wants a pure woman. So he goes to an underground auction.... Camille takes care of her family consisting of her sick mother who has MS-Multiple Sclerosis and her junkie brother, while going to school to be a nurse she has a job but, when bills cannot be paid she decides to take her Brother's suggestion and sell her virginity. Erik see’s how strong and different Camille is and buys her .....
Erik offers her double to have his child. Camille originally says no but, when her mother goes into the hospital again and the bills keep piling up, she changes her mind. Camille moves in with Erik and they start forming a bond. Erik has trust issues because someone close to him tried to take him down. and also his past family issues....Camille is struggling with having a child with a Bratva man but, the longer Camille and Erik are together their love grows stronger. When their lives get turned upside down and Erik wants to protect his woman and child , Camille won’t leave the man she loves. A really good read.

As we all come to expect another exceptional riveting book from this talented author, the story flows seamlessly and flawless grabbing your imagination with the intricate detail that brings her stories to life. Camille a struggling student nurse devoted to her mom who has MS with mounting health bills knows she needs a large injection of money and fast to stay afloat, her brother is a useless drug induced drunk suggests she sells her virginity to the Archangel Vision auction, could this be the reprieve she needs?? What she didn’t expect was to be purchased by Erik the Russian Bratva boss and how handsome and appealing he would be, when he offers to double her money if she gives him a heir , how could she deny him what could possibly go wrong?? The tension and suspense grips you, the betrayals hurt you but the passion and sex scenes heat you. This is a book you definitely don’t want to miss I can’t recommend it highly enough. I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I was happy to leave.

Camilla never expected her difficult life to come to this selling herself like a piece of art she's especially valuable all because of her virginity. It all started because of her dead beat brother Rob and her mother with Multiple Sclerosis now there is no turning back and the man who bought her hes a very dark and dangerous man he wants her to give him a son too.
Erik I have power and money and people fear me they should I'm the head of the Bratva Russian Mob most days are deadly but if I don't have and heir the Bratva will fall apart and there are men waiting for me to fail. But I have just purchased the most exquisite piece of Art it's all mine and know one will take her from me.
There is plenty of danger betrayal and one epic finally battle and yes plenty of Passion between Camilla and Eric. And there is a nice juicy epilogue's at the end. On a personal note I dont normally read allot of these types of books mob books but this one was good.

He is drawn to Camille and they alter her contract when he places the highest bid and she agrees to be his baby mama. The financial rewards are just too tempting for Camille to turn down, but she has to move in with Erik full time, for her protection. Erik has dissent in his ranks and he is trying to flush out the traitors in his midst. As Erik and Camille spend more time with each other, their turbulent relationship blossoms despite the odds against them. This is a brilliantly written story with an engaging plot and interesting characters.

Erik and Camille's story was a real rollercoaster of a story.
They meet unconventionally as camille is selling her virginity because she needs the money for her Mum's medical bills.
Erik is the guy who buys her for the night,but he makes her another proposition to have his baby for double the money.
Erik is the leader of the Bratva and needs an heir because things aren't good within the Bratva their are traitors everywhere,and he fears that if he is killed there will be no-one to carry on his name.
Camille has no idea who he is she is feisty and refuses him but eventually because of her brothers' debts she excepts the offer.
Moving in with him they get to know one another better and they fall hard and fast,but what will she do when she discovers his true identity.?
I did enjoy this book and the chemistry between them was so hot...the storyline was an enthralling one and it kept me entertained from beginning until the end.
I have enjoyed this series by Nicole Fox and I feel some of the criticism she has had is a bit unfair.

So easy to read!
I think this is a lovely story.. It's sad at times and twice, it actually made me cry. Ok so not a full on snot-fest sort of cry, but more of the....ouch I stubbed my toe and then cracked my elbow into the door frame lol. It's got an easy, lackadaisical side to it. Yes they're perceived betrayals and actual betrayals going on, but it's a smooth transition of love making, to then being shot at by your ex friends and enemies!! I honestly loved it, although there we're two pretty big mistakes that her editing team should have picked up!! But it doesn't really detract from the storyline, as long as you can try to ignore them, or if you can actually see where they are. So I do recommend this book, as out of the four prior books I've read....So far, of Nicoles.....this book has so far been the very best one with the storyline and the characters. So grab it and read it, I can promise you, that it will be worth it, mistakes and all 😍😍

This was an amazing book! It was beyond five stars! Nicole Fox's best book yet! It had all the ingredients for a best seller. It was a Mafia romance, thrilling, exciting, and had Hot and steamy scenes. I read cover to cover without putting it down once! Erik Ivanovich is the leader of the Bratva mafia. His uncle talks him into paying a virgin to produce an heir if something happens to him. Camille Greene is fighting her own battles. She has a mother with MS and mounting hospital bills and a brother that always finds himself in shady financial situations. Camille enters the Archangel Vision auction as a last attempt to save her mother financially. She leaves the auction purchased by Erik Ivanovich. But this is merely the beginning of a whirlwind romance that promises to deliver one heck of a ride!
