“You woke up before I could finish, Sara.” Thorpe said with a smirk. “Um, sor … ry? What can I say?” Sara was sitting sideways in one of Thorpe’s guest chairs, her back against one armrest and her bare legs over the other. Her flip-flops dangled from her blue-painted toes. “I guess it was my fault, huh? For making you laugh so hard,” Thorpe said. Sara reached a hand to her neck and caressed her throat.
