There are many helpful points in this book by Simon Kistemaker, but it is a disappointing read compared to his superb work on the Parables. I can't work out who the author has in mind when writing - it is not robust enough for apologetics, and yet there's barely enough substance either for preachers, or even devotionally. Also, I really don't like the frequent extra-biblical assumptions he makes when telling the story in each miracle of Jesus.
I used it devotionally, but in all honesty it was pretty thin gruel. Sorry I can't be more positive. It was okay, but not what I expected from a noted NT scholar like Simon Kistemaker.
