70% of the book is the fmc being sa’d and the mmc screwing anything that even looks his way. Playboy aspect was overblown he basically fixates on fmc because she is one of the only women who literally don’t immediately drop to their knees and open their mouth (just the way he likes them). He brags repeatedly about what a great lover he is but from the interactions you do see with other women I find that highly questionable. One specifically whines hoping he finishes soon. When your partner is “dry as a desert” again his words you’re doing it wrong.

The writing was good, and even though the tension felt a little long, I couldn't put the book down. The MMC just stayed bad from beginning to end. I liked that he recognized she was his only weakness and he didn't give any F*s about that. 😆 He was locked in. The book realistically takes place over months and seeing the outcomes of the attraction helped the story feel mature.

Must Read!!
I read this book in one sitting and did NOT put it down until I was done. It’s definitely a dark romance (so make sure you read through the trigger warnings) but it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and sent me through all the emotions. I can’t wait for the next book!

Wow! Just wow! I devoured this book! I could not put it down & I was obsessed! What a ride! The plot of this story hit just right. I loved it! This book will have you turning the pages till the last page. It will keep you wanting more! It was so well written & loved all the characters! But I will say my heart was with Sebastian from start to finish!
The attraction, tension, heat, spice, obsession & weakness between Sebastian & Riley.. it was everything! Sebastian is a boss & a boss I would fall for in a heartbeat! Riley is sweet & innocent but oh so perfect for Sebastian. What Riley needed all this time, was a man like Sebastian. I loved watching their story unfold & I was rooting for them both! They are a perfect match!

This book needs WAY more attention!! After recently meeting the authors and hearing about this book/series, it sounded like something that I would like. And it did not disappoint! It was dark and steamy AF. Billionaire, “little mouse”, bosses assistant/intern, sex club. Just a few tropes to add to the list. But there was such a good mafia type story line that I wouldn’t even call romantic suspense it was like romantic smut (if that’s a thing?) but in the best way. The introduction of the other company owners was just the perfect mix to get me excited to keep going into their stories and I can’t wait to read more. Xavier and Corinne I know is going to be good, however the Kaz and the twins in book 3 … 🙈🙈🙈

Fast paced
I would say this was an okay read. It was fast-paced and insta-love. I wouldn't say it's really dark. It does have a few dark themes. Playboy MC was a little annoying with his use of women, and even using the FMC to boost his ego in a scene with her ex just wasn't my style. I am all for a bad boy thats falls in love, but that particular part made me dislike him. It wasn't a bad book, though, and I liked the writing style. I will read more from this author. There is a lot of sex scenes, which is always a plus.

With strong character development, plenty of suspense, and a satisfying conclusion, this book is a must-read for fans of dark romance. While Riley and Sebastian’s story wraps up, there’s still intrigue leading into the next book, and I’m definitely continuing the series!

This book felt a bit mediocre. There were too many scenes of the MC having sex with other women and basically no scenes to show his interest in the FMC beyond lust.
At one point, another man comments to Sebastian that Riley "silences your demons, you just don't know it yet." How? Where? Certainly nothing on page happened yet to give that impression.
Unlikable, misogynistic characters aren't necessarily a problem for me, but it takes more work to make the HEA believable, and that just didn't happen here.

This was an enjoyable read that within a few pages grabbed me and took me away to another world, in which I could lose myself and forget about the everyday reality. It moves along at a comfortable pace making for an easy and enjoyable read. The characters seem so real that you feel as though you have known them forever, no matter what they have to do, you cannot help but love them. This book will not disappoint you. It is a must read that needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.

3.5 stars rounded up. The story and tension between the two MCs were great. I do feel like some plot points felt either rushed or vague, and this did give me Haunting Adeline vibes (to the point where I'd say this is probably very inspired by H.A.). It does end in a pretty intriguing cliffhanger that leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more. Excited to see where it leads us...

This book was amazing. Finished it with a day and a half. I loved that the author jumped right into everything and didn't drag it out. Sebastian is a boss I think we all need, lol. Reily is a tough woman for what she had to deal with. I'm hoping Xaiver gets his book. Can't leave us with that cliffhanger

The mmc was too much of a whore to enjoy this. The way he talked about women, the way he treated them. He was with so many women during this story, it makes me question whether he'd be faithful to the fmc or eventually get bored with her. He was mostly attracted to her because he couldn't have her.

What a freaking amazing book. I love me some good mafia love story and this one just had so many twist and turning moments that I didn’t seen coming at all and that is one of my favorite part about a book that you have some surprise that so good. Let say this only took me only a couple of hours to read it that tell you anything.

I wish I had never read this book…. I’m scared I’m not going to find another one as good as this one is!!!! I loved it. The ONLY thing I would change is for you to see more domestic things between the couple, but that’s just the romantic side of me coming through. You can definitely see the characters giving themselves in ways that they know how.

This book was amazing. If I didn’t have mom duties I would have finished this in 1 day! You cannot stop reading this book. It keeps you wanting to read more. I can’t wait for #2 to come out.

I enjoyed this book for the most part! A few things got a little too repetitive for me and I never grew to like the MMC. I liked that it was fast paced and enjoyed it enough to want to read book 2. Overall a good read.

I really liked this one. While certain aspects were easily predictable, there were a lot of steps to get to those points that I definitely did not see coming.
I liked how Mr. billionaire boss helped Riley find truths about her soon-to-be-ex to help her stand for herself. His attitude towards women in general leaves a lot to be desired, but towards the end, he displays how soft he is for her... she's the only one who has made him work for his attention.
The smexy scene towards the end was as brutal as it was empowering; it left me seriously hoping Riley felt her well-deserved closure after that.
The next book is about a different character, so I believe this could be a standalone, but the epilogue of this one was a cliffhanger for book 2, so if you don't want the next one, skip the epilogue. I definitely want to continue the series!

The story of Riley was nice. She didn't really learn to stand up for herself. Sebastian just became obsessed and she went from an abusive husband to an obsessed new husband. There wasn't a clear story of what happened to the bad guys trying to take Riley.

I am really adoring this author. Her stories are light and happy- hahaha. I loved reading about Sebastian and Riley. They featured a compelling setup with plenty of tension that kept me on the edge!

A pretty enjoyable book. The FMC is starting a new chapter of her life that becomes a new life. I appreciated that it called attention to things you think as a reader and addressed them. I really enjoyed how the story played out. The aspect of mystery kept it super engaging. Also set up for Book 2 extremely well. Excited to see the rest of the series.

Wow…this was smokin hot! More sex than story. What little plot it had still wasn’t really explained. Confused with the whole Lockhart issue between Nate and Riley’s family.
