Society runs on rules. Doctors do no harm. The mafia keeps their vendettas off the front lawn. And killing cops? That’s a line no one should ever cross.
But when a body turns up in the street—badge still pinned, blood still warm—my worst fears come screaming to life.
Professionally, I’m his medical examiner. Personally, I’m married to his colleague.
This is the kind of case that shatters boundaries. The kind that twists loyalty into knots and turns justice into a minefield. The kind that feels like my worst nightmare, gift-wrapped in tungsten and dropped at my feet.

Such a fast-paced, full-throttle story! I couldn't stop turning pages. Minka is "dealing" with Fifi's announcement from the last story, in addition to having to do her job, deal with Malones, and with a cop killer on the loose. I love the multiple POVs throughout this story so we can see so many versions of what's happening. I love that these characters are so bold, rich, and loud! They feel like family, and also, like I'm right there looking over their shoulders the whole time. Minka and Archer may be the series main characters, but Aubs, Fletcher, Mia, and Sera steal my attention every time. Add in the other Malones, and I want to have multi-vision going on so I can keep up with all of them beyond what's important to the story. The story concludes perfectly, but the series is continuing, which means there's some drama that has to wait for next time. Gahhhh, I don't want to wait! Minka is the best when she's fiery and angry. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I thought by now this series would've lost its appeal but it's still delivering good storylines. Will appeal to those who like the In Death series by JD Robb and for a better reading experience I recommend to read in order.
𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is the 14th book in the Mayet Justice series by Emilia Finn, featuring another heart-pounding addition to this unique crime-centered romantic suspense series. Minka, Archer, and their crew are back, as Minka is forced to face her worst fears. Someone in Copeland City is taking out cops with armor-piercing rounds. For the first time, it’s a struggle to separate her role as Chief Medical Examiner and her position as the wife of Detective Archer Malone, member of a mafia family. Will Archer and Fletch solve the case before the crosshairs turn toward them?
I’m always thrilled to dive back into this series!! You can’t beat the compelling characters and their found family vibe! I mean, you’ve got cops, doctors, and mafia men who would all throw down for each other! The dialogue is always on point, whether it’s witty banter, a flirty moment, or an emotional one. Let me just say, I wouldn’t say no to having an Archer Malone as my penguin or my rock!! Sign me up!😍 I loved the cases in this one, and all the twists and turns. With appearances by Cato and Felix, there’s plenty to laugh about. Archer and Minka bring the sweet and the heat, and watching them navigate all their relationships is always a blast! I’m on the edge of my seat, longing for more Tim and Aubree and Fletch and Fifi info!! I know Tim and Aubree’s book is coming next, and I’m sooo excited!! Don’t miss this book, or any of the others, if you haven’t tried this hit series yet! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This entire series is one of my favorite contemporary series in crime/ romantic suspense. A neurodivergent loner coroner dates and then marries a handsome alpha male cop, who was born into an Irish crime family and escaped after a terrible tragedy. Every book has a mystery that they both work, and the series charts their relationship development and their friendships, coworkers, family members. The mysteries are interesting, and the characters are as well.
Having said that, this book (#14 I think) is my least favorite of the series. I feel like their was a lot of filler the first 50% and the resolution came quickly at the end, and out of nowhere. Still, I loved reading about the characters, even if this book didn't move their stories forward at all.
But please read at least the first 2 or 3 books- if you like those, you will love this series.
Spin off series - Underbelly Enchanted (I don't understand the name).

Once again Emilia Finn knocks it out of the park. As readers we were treated to an intimate inside look at Minka and Archer's relationship and this installment tugged at my heart a little more. The Mayet Justice series is rooted in its characters beyond the scope of just Minka and Archer's marriage and working relationship. As a reader you can feel the bond between Minka and Aubree, Minka and Fifi, Archer and Charlie and everyone with Moo. And that's the beauty of this series. The visit to NYC and Minka's bond with Archer's brothers and their women adds yet another layer. We've seen snippets of Minka's vulnerabilities in previous installments, but this book treated readers to a different Minka ... maybe a tad softer. My ONLY disappointment in this episode is that I have to wait until MARCH to see what's next.
Absolutely fantastic installment in the series. I love these characters so much, every one of them.
I don’t think I’ve been so stressed out reading a book in a long time. Maybe the fact that Minka and Archer were apart for a chunk of it, I felt stressed out because they felt stressed out. Loved seeing Minka in New York, and I’m a fan of Harrison. Can’t get enough of how everyone leads her around because she never knows where she is going.
Read this in a couple hours, I could not put it down! I’m already impatient for the next book!
14 books later and I still can’t get enough of Archer, Minka, and the rest of the Copeland City!! I love that these books are such a fun time. Quick reads that always leave you patiently waiting for the next “episode”!!! It’s awesome to read a series where the FMC is a confident, take no crap character and since she is so badass she needs an even stronger MMC who’s only job is to take care of her when she doesn’t always put herself first, and to know she doesn’t always need him to fight her battles!! Love this series and can’t wait for the next book!!!
What’s not to like about this book. It brings all our favorite Copeland characters and the NY Malones together. I’m usually one who doesn’t like reading long series. They just get boring for me. But Mayet Justice series is incredible, every one of these book in this series is 5 stars !! I cant wait for the next one !! I applaud 👏 Emilia Finn for writing such amazing books with lovable, yet morally grey characters and who done it storylines !!
FOURTEEN books in, and I'm hooked... LIES. I've read every single book Emilia has ever written, and I was hooked on the VERY first one. I have to say though that this is my FAVORITE Mayet Justice book so far. I'm tempted to go back and read it from the beginning all over again right now. Alas I need to read Turkey Trouble so I can read the delicious Timothy Malone book that JUST Release. Because 🔥 I've been waiting for Tim my whole life and didn't even know it.
“I don’t need a hero, Malone.” “I’m gonna be one anyway.”
I absolutely love this series and hope it never ends! The case in this particular book hits close to home for our favorite Copeland crew and it kept me at the edge of my seat from the first page to the end! We see the extra vulnerable side of Minnnka with Archer that she normally hides. Their love continues to grow and I love every second of it! Another 5 star read in the amazing Mayet Justice series.
I can’t get enough of this series. Minka and Archer are couples goals, regardless of the chaos that goes on not only around them, but between them. The bond and love they share with their family, blood or chosen, grabs onto your heart and pulls you inside their world with them. The need to know more, the anticipation for the next book, Emilia Finn is a master at making us want more. The countdown is on!!
This shows how much everything is going wrong with the city. We have cops taking money and picking sides. When are we finally going to see the big man himself. Minka is sitting in a situation she doesn’t know how to navigate. Then archer is in a dangerous place where he needs to keep an eye on himself, Fletcher, Minka and his brothers. I think this is the one that might bring the great Archer to his knees.
Emilia Finn never disappoints. I've said it before; I can see myself in this world, with these people. The relationships between the characters are top notch and never get old. Emilia seamlessly weaves her series together with others and I am always left wanting the next one right away. The next one is Lost Kingdom, which is technically a different series, but I think we are finally going to get Tim and Aubrey - CANNOT WAIT!!!!
Emilia finn does it again. The way she weaves these characters even the "bad ones" in a way that makes you want to love them. I say it every time. Nothing hits like a Finn book. And this one is amazing just like the rest. To think we've followed the dame couple for 14 books! And we all still want no we need more is a testament to how amazing of a write emilia really is.
Another solid book in this series that I hope never ends. Minka went off the rails a bit in this one with her attitude. Archer went rogue and out himself in danger at work. Fifi can’t grow up and acknowledge what could be with her and Fletch/Mia. Felix went and kidnapped again (though you knew it was coming). And some how it all magically turned into a very engaging read that left you wanting more.
I enjoyed reading this book and getting another side of Minka. Having to deal with being across the county and leaving Archer home with a cop killer on the loose brings Minka closer to realizing she is not in total control! I also love anytime the Malone brothers come in to push Minka's buttons! This was an interesting case that was heartbreaking for the cops. Seeing Malone embrace his last name for this case was also a good full circle connection.
If there’s anything Emilia is a master at it’s setting us up with a tiny tidbit and keeping us waiting for the resolution! Corruption has you sitting on the edge every minute waiting to find out all the tea! Cross country trips and showdowns featuring our favorite mafia family make the latest installment the best guilty pleasure!
I was hooked! I was desperate to find out the bad guy and desperate for it to never end! I want to scream and shout this from the roof tops! Copeland City and the entire Malone family never fail and never disappoint!
This is me trying my hardest to give out no spoilers!
Brilliant, loved, I love reading all about Archer and Minnnka, my laugh out loud moment when Felix is giggling about the prostitute he hired for Micah named Shandi I cracked up. You really had me guessing who the killer was. Great book, great read and amazing author who just keeps making me want to read more of her books they are just so good.

This is another perfect “episode” of this fabulous world of crime, cops, M.E.s, Mafia and the people we love. This was so good and it was a perfect lead in to our road to Tim and Aubs and Fletch and FiFi. It is literally hard to right a review other than saying……READ THIS SERIES! It’s is AMAZING!
O M G this series gets better with each book! The chemistry between Archer and Minka gets stronger with each story. Love the interaction with their friends and the Malone dynasty; on how they all come together when needed. This story has the hot steamy scenes, thrill of the hunt, the chase, bullets flying, and heart pumping. My heart has finally slowed down. Loved it!!!
I loved this book! I hope Emilia Finn continues to add to this series! While Archer and Minka are still a focus in this book, Emilia Finn did a great job in strengthening the bonds each has with their extended family in New York, on the police force and beyond. Happy reading!
Emilia continues to wow me with her story telling. I am so enamored with these characters. I feel like I know them and I just want them all to be happy! This story challenged our favorite vigilante couple as they were separated by many miles and yet always felt close. So good!
Another amazing book.. This series has been one of my absolute favorites, it has a little bit of everything in it. The characters are interesting and leave you wanting more. I have read all of her series so far and you are able to just dive into the book and each chapter leaves you feeling connected in a way.
Finally, finally finally don’t get me wrong. I have been hooked since book one, but finally get to see Minka in action. Now they need to move into the house on the hill by the waterfall.😂😂 people if you are looking for a book that has a little mystery that has a little sass, family and love, love no father because this series is off the chain❣️❣️
This was a terrifying situation for this group of Detectives, Doctors, the Mafia, and their families/friends. It's every cops worst nightmare come to life. However, what's worse than the nightmare itself is who's behind it all. It's certainly not a story or series to be missed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
I loved it!! We get a much deeper understanding of Minka's emotions which she rarely shows. Emilia's book always make have big feels, but this one is off the charts. This crime hits so close to home for the characters, so much more suspense that normal.
I love this series! These characters are hilarious and feel like real life friends at this point. The storyline for this one definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and flying through the pages to find out what happens.
Another nail biting suspenseful glimpse in the Mayet series
So much to unpack, my shoulders are still scrunched to my ears from the suspense and running down the rabbit holes. I thought I knew what was coming, I was wrong!
