I met Doug by way of a dream. One morning I awoke and told my wife Dot that I’d had a very vivid dream. She asked, “What was your dream about?” I answered, “I can’t tell you what it’s about, I’ll just have to just tell you the story.” I then recounted the first chapter of the book as it appeared in my dream. Dot immediately said, “You need to write that down!” I agreed, but we were in our Motorhome on our way back from Alaska, so it was about three weeks before I had the opportunity to write Doug’s story. During the interim, Dot asked me to repeat it to her, and it flowed from my mind verbatim each time.
