James Rumford is a fairly prolific children's book author and illustrator, with some pretty well-known books to boot. (His retelling of Beowulf is one of the highest circulating classic lit retellings in my library, and I'm a fan of some of his picture books, like Rain School and Tiger and Turtle.) Despite that, I could not find a copy of Mango Rain at a single library in my state. I ended up having to purchase a copy of it for myself in order to read, which feels wild...
