What a intriguing, adrenaline filled, swoony read! It started with a force of a point blank shot and didn't let go!

Kendi is a sweetheart, who's just needing to truly get back on her feet and have someone have her back and her front after all the punches life has thrown at her. I wanted to hug her close and be the best girl friend she needed. Jackson needed some lovin' snuggles too (which I'd gladly provide, btw), reminders that he's survived this long and to grab hold of the angel in front of him.

There were some pretty intense moments, with a very surprising twist in the middle that made the story all the better (eventually - it was rather hairy there for a minute!). This is definitely a story I was glad to discover and experience.

A Swoon Worthy Read

I will say at the outset, I am a huge fan of this author's work. This story didn't disappoint. From the moment you meet Kendall and Jackson you know sparks are going to fly. The problem is the bad guys like Sanchez have other ideas. There are enough twists and turns for even the most picky reader, yet Pierson ties it all up beautifully. Note this book has mild violence and sexual situations, but they serve the plot and help move the story and characters forward.

Edge of your seat thriller. Cheryl Pierson always delivers. Beyond The Fire is an explosive, captivating thriller that kept intensifying from chapter to chapter. I loved the huge twist in the middle that raised the danger Jack and Kendi were facing in this DEA/drug trafficking ring gone bad. Fast paced drama you can't put down.

A shooting, a wounded man, a life changing decision—all this happens to Kendi Morgan in one night, when all she expected to do is chase wayward teenagers off her land. Now she’s in the middle of a drug war.
Jackson Taylor is a DEA agent and he doesn’t trust easily, but he is forced to put his life in Kendi’s hands.

Kendi and Jackson never expected to find love and certainly not so quickly, but love is never convenient. If anything, both realize life can be cut short and with the danger looming ahead, they embrace their attraction. Tomorrow, it could all go to hell, but now Jackson has a reason to fight and survive. And Kendi isn’t a meek and mild woman. She’ll do all she can to help Jackson win this fight.

Cheryl Pierson pens tales of passion and intrigue. Tortured souls, wounded heroes and one heck of a good story. Cheryl Pierson breathes life into her characters and takes the readers on an adventure of suspense and romance, they are sure not to forget.

This was a bittersweet story; both protagonists came from horrible pasts. As a DEA agent, Jackson’s story was especially difficult to read. The plot moved quickly, perhaps too quickly some might think but this story’s entirety spanned less than two weeks so, the reader must take that into consideration.

The attraction between Jack and Kendi spiked immediately; this reader had a difficult time believing they’d act upon that attraction as quickly as they did, given Jack’s physical limitation. Oh well….lust! There were several nice plot twists, concerning Jack’s partner and the resolution.

This reader struggled with the graphic details of Jack’s past and of his torture under the hands of the drug lord. While necessary to the story, be warned. This was a quick and ultimately, interesting read.

Temptation’s Touch…Not So Tempting
Kendi, a divorced and determined woman, wakes in the middle of a rainy night, grabs her bedside gun and sets off to scare the teens that regularly party on her property down by the river. Instead, she witnesses a would-be murder and rescues the handsome yet mysterious victim, dragging him back to her house and placing herself in the path of a vicious drug-dealer’s vengeance. But to Kendi, risking her fragile heart to this intriguing stranger may be even more dangerous.
