About the author

I was born in New Mexico and grew up everywhere. We moved nearly every other year as my father followed a career in the Air Force. Life was filled with a wide variety of people and places, from Turkey to Labrador, Wisconsin to California.
I attended high school in Rapid City, South Dakota and the University of Denver. (Back then I was Carolyn Gold.)I also took many graduate classes at Boise State University.
I consider Seattle, Washington, and Boise, Idaho, where I live now both as home.
