I’m obsessed with this series!! To say Storm is completely unhinged, is a slight understatement. And I LOVE him for it!! If you’re looking for the cute, golden retriever book boyfriend, then this isn’t for you. If you like your men completely crazy, and I mean total red flag behavior, for his woman then this series is for you. I love reading about this mafia family and I can’t wait for the next book!

I was reserving judgment on the first book in this pair until I read this second one, but what I was hoping could redeem the story just didn’t happen. I have no problem with a possessive H. But this motherfucker stole the h’s money, put trackers on everything she owned, had someone shoot at her and her traumatized little sister, made it so one would hire her, put surveillance cameras all over the house (and we’re supposed to think he’s a saint because he didn’t put them on the 15-year-old sister’s floor, but pretty sure she spends a lot of time in the rest of the house and could have walked around naked for all he fuckin knew, and after growing up with a stepfather who molested and abused her, no thought is given to how she might feel knowing she’s being watched by her adult sister’s adult boyfriend) and lied about absolutely everything. I could have dealt with ALL of that if there had been ANY sense of guilt or remorse. Our h finds out and is devastated that she was lied to and manipulated, and the H never once apologizes. He tells her none of it matters because he did it out of love. And she’s mad at him for a few days and then forgives him because one of his mafia buddies comes and tells her she’s not as tough as he thought she was because she has a problem with this?? Nope. Like I said, I can get behind a dark, possessive H. What I can’t get behind is a relationship where only one person has to continually change and compromise their beliefs, their safely, their sense of trust, and the other doesn’t change a bit. If Storm had recognized that he crossed the line, if he actually listened to Briar about how betrayed she felt and made ANY ATTEMPT AT ALL to see things from her point of view, I could have been down with it. But the last scene tells us that even after all that, he has cameras in the bedroom that he hasn’t told her about. Oh, but she knows about them anyway and gets herself off while he watches and it’s ok? I can suspend disbelief if the characters I’m reading are ok with what’s happening—I don’t have to be ok with it because it’s not my story. If she found out all this and was like wow that’s hot, he really wants me, then cool. But she was devastated, and he never once apologized or tries to see things from her POV or changes his behavior in any way, and she is gaslit into believing that the only way she can have him is to put up with shit she is clearly not comfortable with. So nope. Not cool. 2 stars for this and for the previous book, where the H also physically, verbally, and emotionally demeans the h until the last 20 pages and once he finds out his assumptions were wrong, feels not an ounce of guilt or regret for his actions. Nope nope nope.

Storm’s mysterious and commanding presence immediately hooks readers, while Briar's internal struggle and vulnerability add depth to her character. Glines masterfully builds the suspense, making it clear that both characters have much to hide and even more to lose.
The dynamic between Storm and Briar is electric, with Storm's confident and sometimes overbearing demeanor contrasting sharply with Briar's cautious and guarded nature. Their interactions are fraught with a palpable tension, creating a compelling push-and-pull that keeps the reader invested. Glines's ability to depict raw and honest emotions is evident as she navigates the complexities of their relationship.
The scene where Storm confronts Briar about the file she’s holding is particularly gripping. Storm’s dominance and Briar's resistance highlight their conflicting desires and fears. Well he was just as unhinged in the second book as he was in the first and it was phenomenal! He might have outdone King. What's not to love about Storms books? He's a stalker...psycho...obsessed....does whatever whenever just to keep Briar and I loved every second. On to Thatcher!

I was so ready for the conclusion of Storms story and it didn’t disappoint!! I love this whole series and I love how unhinged these guys are! I love Briars strength and the side characters are amazing! If you like mafia, horses and men obsessed with their women then run don’t walk to read this series!

I’m not sure which branch of the southern mafia I’m more in love with. Every one keeps getting better and these interconnected families - I’m obsessed with them!
This is the conclusion of Storm and Briar’s story which started in Sizzling. I’m not sure I’ve ever read a character quite like Storm in any book by the author - he is unhinged, obsessed and literally the definition of a stalker. Briar sure has her hands full and I enjoyed every minute of this story. The Georgia Smoke Series is HOT and just keeps getting better!!!!!!

Once again Abbi has brought her characters to life! Storm and Briar are like a moth to a flame. No matter the level of messed up the other may be they just can’t seem to help each other. Seeing the lengths he is wiling to go to protect and care for Briar was heartwarming. Briar deserves the world after the life she was handed!

The two stars are literally only for Briar’s character because otherwise this would be a zero. Storm is an absolute psycho. Nothing about this was romantic. I’m only finishing this series because I hate leaving them half done but this has really given me the ick.

Let me first warn you, if you haven’t had the chance to read Sizzling by Abbi Glines, I highly recommend you dive into that book before reading Storm. Sizzling and Storm are a duet, of sorts, within a series. You won’t want to miss a moment of Briar and Storm’s story. This duet is worthy of a read in its entirety! And because this is the second book in their duet, I’ve decided to leave out the ‘in my own words’ part of my review and immediately jump into my thoughts on the storyline, the characters, and the overall chemistry included in this novel. So let’s get started!
Let’s start with the characters, beginning with Briar. In the previous book, Briar shows us her stubborn ways and her independent vibes. What I wanted most from this book is exactly what Abbi Glines delivered. We were given a glimpse of this strong, fierce woman who would do anything to protect those she holds near and dear to her heart. In this book I was hoping for more vulnerability and Abbi Glines brought all the vulnerable traits to the table! I really enjoyed seeing Briar do the one thing she found impossible to do and that is to put her trust and her faith in another individual. Trust me when I say, this trait didn’t come easy to her at first. But there was something about seeing her slowly begin to trust mankind again, mainly Storm, and let the shield she had placed around her heart slowly fall. My heart adored these moments of vulnerability.
And then we have Storm. I loved Storm for his fierce protectiveness and slightly possessive nature when it came to Briar and her wellbeing. This man’s emotions are that of a ‘Storm’, no pun intended. This man can go from zero to sixty in a millisecond when it comes to Briar. He would give her the world, if she let him. And he’s proven that fact time and time again. Now let’s be honest, some of the ways he went about getting Briar to trust him were a bit seedy, and in real life unacceptable. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, these reason’s made me love Storm’s character that much more. This man is not only dependable, but he’s a super alpha in all ways that matter. Storm may just be my favorite Hero in this series for those facts alone.
From the family aspect to the romantic vibes, everything in this novel was a hit for me! The suspense wasn’t as high in this novel as in the previous books, but I do have the say, the drama was elevated a bit more and I really enjoyed that feature! My heart adored Storm and Briar’s duet. The only thing that felt flat, to me, was the ending conflict between Briar and she who shall not be named. I felt like this was the only moment that was a little too fast paced for my liking. I knew the face-off was coming, I just wanted more from that moment, and that is the reason why I dropped a ½ star on my rating.
Overall, I loved Storm and Briar’s story from beginning to the very end. I can’t wait to see what Abbi Glines has coming next in this series! I need more!! Let it be known, if you’re looking for a novel/duet featuring a super alphamale hero and a stubbornly fierce heroine you should definitely pick up Storm and Briar’s duet! Hopefully you’ll love it just as much as I did. But remember, for the most out of this duet read Sizzling before jumping into Storm!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't know what sort of book crack Abbi laces this series with but I am obsessed and I will never get enough!
This is the conclusion of Storm and Briar's book and you absolutely need to read Sizzling first as their story is a duet. If you don't love your fictional men walking red flags, fully unhinged, possessive and jealous than this ain't the series for you. As for me? I will devour it whole and lick every finger.
What's funny is that I could probably sit here and pick apart Briar's easy giving in to Storm at every turn but I just can't find it in me to care. The series before this and this spinoff have become comfort reads to me that just hit the spot. They're one of those stories that you can shut off your brain and just enjoy. Ya know? It's just pure book crack with toxic men and the women that fall for them and I am so here for it.
Storm definitely stays on brand with his stalker tendencies and crazy possessiveness of Briar and I spent the entirety of the book just waiting for the other shoe to drop and Briar to see the extent of his secrets. And while I wanted Briar to make him work for it a bit more, I still love that she gave it back and made her feelings and boundaries known...even though Storm continues to steamroll right past them.
The spice was spicing as only Abbi knows how. I love her brand of dirty talkers. But can we just talk about my absolute FERAL need for Thatcher's book? because if Storm is unhinged, Thatcher is an absolute psychopath and I'm half in love with him already.
The story as the rest of this series was a binge read in one sitting; satisfying, spicy, and so much fun! I love this series!

I really love all the smoke series books. Storm is no exception. I will start by saying you must read Sizziling before reading Storm. This is the conclusion of Storm and Brier's story. However, you do not need to read other books in the smoke/Georgia Smoke Series to read these 2 books. Most of them are stand-alone or have a 2nd part. But my suggestion is to start with Smokeshow and read through them all. You can thank me later.
I love Storm. I think this is a bit of a reverse hero/heroine book. Briar is hard. She has done a lot of things that are moraly grey. She resists love and the idea of it. She is possessive and jealous! I am here for it! I am not a reverse hero/heroine kind of girl. But it just hit me, and Abbi wrote it so well that it's not overpowering to the story (you done know its happeninguntil it hits you). Briar is strong and has done what she has to do to survive and keep her sister safe. A lot of the women characters in Abbi's books are strong women, but usually have a propblrm that "needs help" (I am not saying this as a negative or that they can't save themselves, its part of the plot). They have a past; maybe someone is after them, they were sick, saved from something horrible. But Briar is different. I don't know...like she does not need a man she takes them if she wants, she does not need saving, she does the saving. Storm came to know Storm because she was a job at first, (•Read Kings book). He wasent there to save her...not even a little. But Storm is there helping her loving her, and she does not even know it. He keeps it all to himself. I thought he was unhinged (they all are in some way!), but the things he was doing for her and her sister are the sweetest. He is keeping her and her sister safe, making sure they Both have a future. Everything he does is from his love for Briar, to make her smile, to make her happy! It's really quite beautiful!! (In a very Mafia way!)

But if you like your men unapologetically unhinged, full red-flag energy, and willing to do whatever it takes for his woman? Welcome. This series is for you.
Storm somehow managed to be just as chaotic in book two as he was in book one and maybe even outdid King. He’s a stalker. A psycho. Obsessed. Protective to a dangerous degree. And I loved every single second of it. His devotion to Briar is feral, and the lengths he goes to keep her (and her sister) safe had me melting in the most mafia-coded way possible.
What really surprised me was Briar. This feels like a subtle reverse hero/heroine situation and I ate it up. Briar is hard, morally grey, possessive, jealous, and completely resistant to love. She doesn’t need a man she takes one if she wants. She doesn’t need saving she does the saving. And that difference? It hit so hard.
Abbi usually writes incredibly strong FMCs, but many of them still have something they need rescuing from. Briar is different. She survives. She protects. She makes the hard calls to keep her sister safe. Storm didn’t come into her life to save her she was a job at first (read King’s book 👀). He helps her, loves her, protects her quietly, without ever expecting anything in return. Half the time, she doesn’t even know what he’s doing for her and somehow that makes it even sweeter.

A beautiful ending for this duet. And when I say beautiful, I also mean crazy beautiful.
I really thought Storm was going to have to grovel when it came to getting Briar back. I was definitely not expecting Storm to be so possessive, but he loves Briar. In the first book, we get just a taste of how obsessed he was with Briar. In the conclusion to this duet, Storm shows just how unhinged he can be when it comes to being in love.
If Storm’s possessive behavior wasn’t enough drama for you, wait until you meet Lula Mae. Lula Mae may think she is a woman who is near and dear to Storm, but are those feelings reciprocated? Storm seems to recall their “young love” differently. There tends to be that one lady who thinks she is irreplaceable and Lula Mae thinks she is that lady for Storm. She does everything she can to try and scare Briar away.
Briar is used to women being nasty and knows how to defend herself. At times she does doubt Storm’s actions and starts to wonder if she should go back to Atlanta.
Thatcher happens to intervene at just the right time. He is the one who gets Briar to realize she doesn’t want to truly leave Storm. She understands where Storm is coming from and remembers all the things he did for her that shows just how much he does love her. She also isn’t afraid of defending herself and staking claim of her man. Trust me when I say you won’t want to miss the ending. Especially the part between Storm, Lula Mae, Briar, and Thatcher!
Briar and Storm are finally able to enjoy being together without all the deceiving and lying. They are actually able to trust one another. And even with Storm still keeping cameras in the house.
Briar is definitely happy that Dovie and her have a place to call home and a family that cares for them.
P.S. If Storm is this crazy for his lady then I can’t wait to read Thatcher’s story!

If Storm’s possessive behavior wasn’t enough drama for you, wait until you meet Lula Mae. Lula Mae may think she is a woman who is near and dear to Storm, but are those feelings reciprocated? Storm seems to recall their “young love” differently. There tends to be that one lady who thinks she is irreplaceable and Lula Mae thinks she is that lady for Storm. She does everything she can to try and scare Briar away.
Briar is used to women being nasty and knows how to defend herself. At times she does doubt Storm’s actions and starts to wonder if she should go back to Atlanta.
Thatcher happens to intervene at just the right time. He is the one who gets Briar to realize she doesn’t want to truly leave Storm. She understands where Storm is coming from and remembers all the things he did for her that shows just how much he does love her. She also isn’t afraid of defending herself and staking claim of her man. Trust me when I say you won’t want to miss the ending. Especially the part between Storm, Lula Mae, Briar, and Thatcher!
Briar and Storm are finally able to enjoy being together without all the deceiving and lying. They are actually able to trust one another. And even with Storm still keeping cameras in the house.
Briar is definitely happy that Dovie and her have a place to call home and a family that cares for them.
P.S. If Storm is this crazy for his lady then I can’t wait to read Thatcher’s story!

Before you can read this book, you have to read the first book Sizzling. This is the conclusion of Storm and Briar's story. We left off on a cliff in the first book. It is also the only book in this series that has a cliffhanger ending. Gosh I don't even know where to start. I don't want to give anything away about this book. If you think that Storm was possessive in the first book, you haven't seen anything yet. He has finally gotten Briar where he wants her. In Georgia, in his home, and in love. Now how he got her there was revealed in the very last chapter of the last book. I guess I should have figured out some of that on my own, but I didn't. I was convinced it was the people that are after her. After all she has more to think about than just herself. Dovie is her main priority. When she finds out all he has done, will the explosion that will be coming is one they might not survive. She was killing it in Florida and Dovie loved it there and now they are uprooted once again. I wanted to see them settled and safe once and for all. You will see how it all plays out in this book. I don't really want to tell you anything about the story. I dove into this book blind and that is the way you need to go into this book too. I loved the story of Storm, Briar and Dovie. It will have you feeling all the things you love to feel when you are reading a great romance. I am loving this series so much and I am going to cry when the series is over. The Smoke Series continues with Storm. Sizzling ended on a confession of sorts. Storm is the conclusion of Storm and Briar's story.

To say that Storm is possessive, obsessive and crazed is one thing. But... he is on a "Thatcher" kind of level of crazy! And guess what? It takes one to know one! Storm loves hard in his own stalker kind of way.
Neither him nor Briar have had a real relationship, so things are a bit rocky. Trust is a huge issue and Storm has a unique way of coping with his trust issues. Storm and Briar still have an amazing chemistry together.
There are lots of interactions among the family and of course Dovie. But overall, their conclusion had a bit of a slow pace. Not that I minded because there were tidbits of yummy laced throughout the book and a bit of Briar's past history.
"I'm not married. I'm not attracted to any women. You aren't goings to be my sidepiece. You're just mine, and I will make sure that it's not a secret."
You must read Sizzling first to enjoy Storm. Thatcher is up next. So, hold on for what will be a crazy, dark ride in Demons! I can't wait!

Sensational!!!! Storm was well worth the wait. Briar and Storm were not the most functional couple
But in true Glines fashion, they just worked. Secrets and unforseen obstacles were always present and kept me, the reader, on the blissfully uncertain knife's edge. This was the total escape. The stunning conclusion was everything I could hope for and more.
Character development. Amazing. Complex and delightfully entertaining. Storm had it all. Briar handled every dastardly deed with decorum and maturity. Her willingness to do what needed to be done, especially in dire circumstances, was enviable and admirable. Storm. Well I could say a lot and still not get to the essence of him. Cantankerous and cunning. He went to any length to provide stability and everything else that Briar never had. He was the ultimate smotheringly dark, yet sweet boyfriend. Love knew know boundaries with him, and he expressed it in the only way he could. With flair, tenacity and downright bullheadedness. As rough as they get, he gave me endless jaw dropping moments and had me shaking my head in disbelief. Audaciousness at its finest. And I loved every minute of it. Loved it hard. Loved it the most. Every time a new book comes out, it becomes my favourite. I can't wait to see what my next favourite story will bring. 5 stars.

Hold on tight because "Storm" delivers a conclusion that surpasses even the messy entanglements of its predecessor, "Sizzling." This book wraps up the tumultuous saga of Briar and Storm, so put on your hat and secure your saddle for the emotional rollercoaster ride!
My feelings about Storm were a rollercoaster in themselves. While he embodies the archetype of a bossy alpha male, his incessant demands for Briar to relinquish her independence annoyed me. His default response to every emotion—be it happiness, sadness, or anger—with sexual intensity became overwhelming. Despite having encountered characters like him before, Storm's possessiveness over Briar felt suffocating, as if it took a lot of her hard gained independence away.
However, amidst these frustrations, I found satisfaction in how the author tied up all loose ends concerning Briar, Dovie, and even delved into Storm's own complex past. The narrative maintains its tradition of keeping friends and family closely intertwined, offering opinions and teasing Storm for his caveman ways.
The book is well written and steamy as all get out. While "Storm" can be enjoyed as a standalone, diving into "Sizzling" first ensures a fuller appreciation of Briar and Storm's journey.

Storm is the sequel to Sizzling in the Georgia Smoke Series by Abbi Glines. This book picks up where Sizzling left off. Storm managed to get Briar and Dovie back to Georgia and went full force into a relationship with her. Briar loved Storm, but she had some reservations about him. He didn’t want her to work, going so far as to threaten the bar owner she had worked for not to give her a job. He had so many secrets. Some that were wonderful surprises and some that threatened to derail their relationship. What would happen if Briar ever discovered what lengths Storm went to ensure that Briar would depend on him? I enjoyed the conclusion of Briar and Storm’s love story. It seems that the morally grey anti-heroes have some warped ways of securing the women with whom they fall in love. Miscommunication was definitely a trope that impacted this story as well as secrets and lies. This was definitely a stalker romance, but this mafia family is a cohesive, loving family and more than Briar and Dovie have ever had. The chemistry between the main characters makes it a pretty spicy read. If you enjoy mafia romance, this duet is something you may enjoy.

As much as I want to say I loved this book (as I often have said for the other books in this series), there was one major red flag for me: I cannot get past the manipulation. Don't get me wrong, I can understand Storm's POV and his motivation for why he did what he did. HOWEVER, this might be the first time that I can't overlook a Glines character's questionable morals. I actually was expecting something like this for Thatcher's book, because it fits his character. Invasion of privacy, manipulation of personal items, etc. is a bit too far for me. I understand Storm is obsessed with her, but there's healthy obsession (want to be around her, want to make her happy, etc.) and then there's Storm's level of obsession. If I was Briar, I'd have run and never looked back. Just because you've "fallen in love" (also, I'd like to know how that happens so fast), does not mean it's ok to put your sister's life in danger. I also can't get over Storm's quick change of taste. I think there needed to be more explanation behind why he didn't like her (maybe tone it down from outright hate) because as it's written, I'm half tempted to believe he's bipolar.
Aside from those points, I loved seeing more of the Southern Mafia and I'm looking forward to figuring out what Thatcher's been up to! Also, the smut in this one was not in your face, but enough to keep you going.

I started this book with a worry and ended with a delight! As a woman who values her independence, I was beginning to be indignant about Storm’s efforts to keep Briar chained and dependent to him. I knew his feelings were genuine, I knew how much he loved her and cared for her, but he was getting a tad toooo much possessive and unhinged. And I understood that Briar loved him but needed her space and independence.
I loved how Storm catered to Briar’s every whim and need. And because Dovie was important to Briar, she was important to Storm too, so she was very well cared for. But he was lying and hurting Briar in the process.
So I was worried and challenging the author how she was going to fix this and she was brilliant! Storm was getting so psycho that I felt Thatcher was sane in comparison!
The story had some irritating parts (Storm’s machinations), funny parts (the Sunday lunch where every male’s crazy was discussed), very steamy parts (numerous). And it was entertaining as heck. In the end, I loved Storm because I now understood: all the Georgia mafia men have some crazy in them!
I loved how Storm catered to Briar’s every whim and need. And because Dovie was important to Briar, she was important to Storm too, so she was very well cared for. But he was lying and hurting Briar in the process.

Listen I LOVED watching Storm turn into this obsessive, possessive, crazy man. Storms brand of crazy is EXACTLY what I craved. And after everything Briar had been through, she deserves to be a man’s sole focus. As crazy as it sounds, we all wish our partner would burn down the whole world for us.
It does take a special woman to put up with that brand of crazy and Briar fit the bill perfectly. She has been through so much. Her backstory was heart breaking. But her resilience and her survival skills were next level. The fact that she sacrificed everything for Dovie… I’ll never recover from this heroine. I was clapping and cheering for this girl from page 1. Her brand of crazy was everything I wish I had the courage to do and never have.
I am so in love with this Georgia branch of the family! I can’t take! I am dying for Thatcher! I just know that crazy f*^%er is gonna be unhinged. But can I put in a little request… please tell me you have a plan for Dovie. My girl needs to find her voice and she needs her own HEA.

Okay, the final act of Storm and Briar’s story and wow. Storm definitely got worse before he got better, but in the end, I’m actually okay with it.
Yes, he’s unhinged, controlling, and possessive, and he does not compromise. BUT…𝑩𝑼𝑼𝑼𝑼𝑼𝑻𝑻𝑻𝑻𝑻𝑻𝑻 he’s not a bad man overall, and he loves her with everything he has. He may have taken all her money and made her financially dependent on him, but he put every cent into an account for Dovie’s college fund. He may have kept her from getting her job back singing at the bar, but he worked behind the scenes to get her a record deal. He may have intercepted Dovie’s new identity, but he made sure she didn’t need it anymore and that Briar could legally be her guardian.
Could their communication have been better? Absolutely. So much of the mistrust and hurt on both side could’ve been avoided. But the love between them as messy, raw, and all-consuming as it was, was undeniable. And Storm’s devotion to both Briar and Dovie was honestly really sweet…in that unhinged, only-Storm kind of way.
I’m definitely seeing this series through, because I’ve been waiting for Capri and Thatcher since the moment they were introduced!

This is the continuation of Briar and Storm’s story, and he is absolutely obsessed with Briar and commits crimes and lies to her to ensure she will not leave him.
He has taken her and Dovie in and is giving them both the life they deserve, but Briar is cautious as she feels it will all end when he gets bored of her, and this will break her heart and Dovie.
You see Briar and Dovie grow in confidence, but when Storm’s actions are laid bare for Briar to see just how messed up his behaviour is, she leaves and he falls apart, but Thatcher helps save the day by reminding her that she is the crazy bitch he knew was in there. I do love how the men rally round to help their ‘brothers’ keep their woman.
A brilliantly written book and I love how Thatcher’s story is woven into the ending, so I cannot wait to meet this wild boy!

After Abbi left us hanging in their first book, book three in this series.. the minute this baby landed on my Kindle it was all eyes on them until it was over. Briar and Storm were like a hurricane and tornado smashed into one at times and a hot, sweaty, swoony mess in others. The angst, drama, intensity, steam.. it was a so much but so right for these them. Emotions were high in these and many secrets were laid bare. What. A. Journey.
I'm not giving away any secrets and this is absolutely not a standalone. You'll have to go back to the start to catch up if you haven't already... but it is so so worth it y'all.

Obsessed with this series! I was so excited to see Briar and Storm’s story continue, especially with so many unanswered questions in the ending of the previous book, and thankfully Abbi did not disappoint! Picking up right where the last book left off, we see Storm really working to show Briar how much she means to him and keeping her not only in town but with him, in a somewhat forceful way. When someone from Storm’s past comes to town and realizes he’s taken for, she works to show Briar who he really is and what he has done to keep her there, as she finds more information out. These mafia men are crazy, territorial, and protective, and Storm definitely inhabits all of those qualities significantly. I loved that in the end they get the HEA they deserved, and that Briar’s “sister” gets to start living a normal life and has the ability to go to school and such. I can’t wait to see who’s next from this mafia family to fall in love!

More of 2.5 than 3 stars because (as others have already pointed out) this didn't need to be split in two books. I actually read this one hoping there'll be more about Thatcher's story. Storm and Briar's was kind of done by the end of book one.
It was the same as all the previous books in these Southern mafia series. I'm repeating myself here but all these books are pretty much a text porn kind of thingy (meaning the plot is not the main thing and once the couple gets together, all they do is have sex, doubt each other/themselves, get into a fight and make up ... and occasionally people get killed and there's a horse race ...). I know we're supposed to suspend reality here but I kind of wish that not all of Abbi's heroes in these series would be dashing man-whores while the heroines are always somehow pretty but flawed and consequently weak (Briar apparently has a reading issue, the chick in another book was described as slow). It is beginning to boarder on misogyny ... 🤔
High hopes for the next book - Demons! 🙏🤞🙏🤞

Toxic love wins, again 🤣 Briar and Storm are two fucked up peas in a pod.

I'm impressed, I think for once I liked the FMC more than the MMC. Briar is an absolute force. I honestly was expecting her to take on a role with The Family at some point. Storm had the right idea, her jealousy is attractive AF. Everytime he said, "Keep that shit up," I swear I swooned a bit.
A bit different from the previous books in the Smoke Series, we get more than one flash back chapter delving into Briar's past. This book was definitely more smut than plot, and I'm okay with that.
Sizzling and Storm are ABSOLUTELY to be read before Demons. I will be treating them as Thatcher's prequel because honestly, Thatcher is really stealing Storm's thunder. I have HIGH expectations for Demons. I can't wait to get WELL acquainted with Thatcher’s Demons 😈🖤

I absolutely fell in love with "Storm" by Abbi Gaines, the latest installment in her Georgia Smoke Series! This book and the whole series are so incredible that I actually shed tears of joy because I felt so connected to the characters.
"Storm" concludes the story of Storm and Briar, which began in an earlier book. Storm is unlike any character I've ever encountered - he's completely unhinged, obsessed, and the very definition of a stalker. But that's what makes him so fascinating! Briar definitely has her hands full with him, and I enjoyed every moment of their intense relationship.
Gaines has a talent for weaving together these interconnected families from different branches of the southern mafia. If you're searching for a nice, normal guy as the main character, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you enjoy reading about men who are totally wild and show some serious red flag behavior for the woman they love, then "Storm" and the Georgia Smoke Series are perfect for you.
This series just keeps getting hotter and better with each new book. I'm completely hooked on Abbi Gaines' thrilling mafia world and can't wait to see what she writes next!
