Everyone wants to be happy. Most people want to be generous. But how many of us understand the powerful connection between the two pursuits?
Jesus himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Might the road to happiness be paved with generosity?Although our benevolent God embedded in our genes the desire to give, sometimes worldly pursuits, cultural pressures, possession obsession, and a scarcity mentality divert us from the very things that can lead us to a better life. But there is hope for change and a path forward.
Happily Generous intertwines scriptural truths, engaging stories, and real-life examples to guide you to joy, purpose, and fulfillment. In this book, you’ll discover the secret to living a priceless life.
"Happily Generous" dives into the idea that happiness and generosity are closely linked. Mike Kocolowski uses a mix of biblical truths, real-life examples, and relatable stories to challenge you to rethink your approach to giving and, ultimately, to living. The book is informative, engaging, and encourages introspection.
Kocolowski's storytelling is both heartfelt and thought-provoking. His use of personal stories isn't just to make points (although he does this very well); they’re powerful and make you reflect on your own attitudes toward generosity. The stories were my favorite part because they showed how relatable the author is. He shares examples from his own life to illustrate how challenging it can be to be generous, but also how much more fulfilled he feels when he is.
The writing flows easily. Kocolowski presents ideas in a simple, personal way, making you feel connected to the content and author. This book doesn’t just tell you to be generous; it makes you want to be generous. Most of us have heard, “It is more blessed to give than to receive….” The author of this book does an amazing job illustrating this truth.
I loved "Happily Generous" and will revisit it from time to time as a reminder of how fulfilling giving can be. It’s a must-read for anyone who wants to better understand generosity and its role in living a happy, purposeful life. Whether you’re already a generous person or just looking to grow in this area, this book is a great guide to living a truly priceless life.
Inspiring and Extremely well written. A fast paced and engaging book that answers life’s most important question… “Why are we here?” Kocolowsky makes the case that it’s not a self indulgent quest that leads to happiness. Only misery is found down that road. Joy is found by giving our time, talents and treasure, (that a very generous God has blessed each one of us with), to love others and make the world a better place. You are God’s “Workmanship.” A unique “Masterpiece” created to do His works and joyfully fulfill your destiny. “God loves a cheerful giver”... Let the hilarity begin. The 40 pages of thought provoking questions at the back of the book, “For Reflection”, would make a GREAT Bible study, Book Club discussion, or spark meaningful conversations with your kids at the dinner table.
