I'm not really liking this series. I mean it's keeping my attention enough for me to finish, but these people are getting on my fucking nerves. The narrator might actually have something to do with it. I had to stop listening to Deadly Reigns because of her. I understand a few stumbles here and there, but this chick is supposed to be a professional. Anyway...
I really hate how Monica has done all this fuck shit to everyone, but everyone except Tanya has to control their bodily responses to her. Yall so fuckin hard up that as soon as you see her you remember what she does to your genitals and start struggling with how to handle her? That's ridiculous to me.
I also didn't care about her backstory. She was being molested by her brother and her stepfather and her uncle, then got gang raped by the boy she was crushing on and his friends, and was bullied by the girls in school and vowed to make every man in the world pay for her pain. That shit didn't make me feel any more connected to that character. She's a snake and everyone knows it, but she just fucks everyone so good they can't stay away. The annoying thing is that this backstory was supposed to endear the reader to Monica, or at least make her more relatable and understandable. Maybe it did for some. But the characters in this book who have to deal with her don't know any of this shit. So I don't see why they have this soft spot for her, and her sex or the fact that she makes a sad face sometimes and "seems" more vulnerable then she tries to put off ain't enough for me.
Also, I didn't like ALL the many POV's.
Now with all that said, I did finish and I'm about to read the third one. That one was released 6 years after this one. Maybe there was some evolution.
