George and Harold are back in another icky adventure! When class boffin Melvin Sneedly goes too far with his latest amazing invention, the Bionic Booger Boy comes to sticky, snotty, bad-tempered life...
David "Dav" Pilkey (b. March 4, 1966), is a popular children's author and artist. Pilkey is best known as the author and illustrator of the Captain Underpants book series. He lives near Seattle, Washington with his wife, Sayuri.
My continuation of the Captain Underpants series continues with "The Bionic Booger Boy and the Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets". I'm giving this book 4 stars because of the disgusting descriptions of the booger boy. Pretty phelmtastic! LOL see what I did there?
This book is a two-parter! Who knew we needed a sequel to Booger Boy in our lives. I find it hilarious that Melvin Sneedly messed up one of his experiments and turned into a monster. I think he definitely deserved what he got for always tattling on George and Harold. Maybe I'm weird and don't need to be thinking too much into a kids book about boogers, but justice is justice in my book.
Can't wait to read Part 2 and find out how George and Harold counters Melvin and if this changes Melvin's attitude toward the boys in future books.
My 6 year old son and I have read this and other Captain Underpants books and I just have to say, speaking about all of the books, that my son thinks they are hysterically funny. They not only inspire him to be excited about reading and books but also to write: he has made his own 'Captain Underpants' comics, using cues from the books, copying both words and pictures. That kind of excitement about learning, reading, writing, that intrinsic push to create and copy, makes these books invaluable and worth every 5 star I've given. them.
I have to say, I chuckle too. The scene with the prune juice & the robot is especially funny.
I was pleasantly surprised. Judging by the covers of these books, I wrote them off as overly juvenile, badly written, stupid wastes of time with irritating titles. Instead, I found a surprisingly smart story that reminded me a little of Calvin and Hobbes and a little of Dennis the Mennis, with a lot of gross humor. As far as I'm concerned, I won't rush out and read every one, but I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to the right reader. This particular 'episode' of Captain Underpants had such choice elements as the "Wedgie Wiggle" and the "Big-Butt Boogie" dance steps. So I would definitely go with a reader who has a big, silly sense of humor. I can see how wonderful these books might be in order to get some enjoyment flowing with the reading - even if you're trying to be serious, who can help but laugh at a time machine made out of a purple porta potty, or a superhero who gets overly excited and accidentally leaves two old ladies (who he had been trying to help cross the street) up a tree when he gets distracted by a request to save a cat. A great activity with this book would be to have kids create their own comic like the characters do. Hopelessly filled with crass humor.
Great story the first Captain Underpants book I ever read I also think it is the best one with great characters and a great story I especially loved Sulu and Melvin in this story I have read it so many times I can't even count. A long story short great book if your a Dav Pilkey fan and you haven't read this you definitely should.
Our heroes, Harold and George, are back and this time they set out to teach the class how to do a "squishy". Of course this excites the rest of the class and even Ms. Ribble, who has changed much of her personality due to events from the last book.Unfortunately for everyone in the class is halted by Melvin Sneedly, the school's brainiac, who refuses to let anyone out the door until he has shown off his Combine-O-Tron 2000 during the class's demonstration speech.
However, the class is less interested and more interested in heading to the cafeteria for ketchup. This seems to annoy Melvin, who is determined to show off his invention. Once he has had Sulu the hamster undergo a groundbreaking transformation, Melvin proceeds to demonstrat with the hamster but Sulu doesn't obey. Instead, Sulu proceeds to spank Melvin sending Melvin running off in tears.
The class celebrates the end and the rest of the class follows after him chanting "Squishes!" but not George and Harold. They stay behind with the hamster. They offer to take Sulu home with them and the hamster takes them up on the offer.
Mr. Krupp is in a foul mood. He demands coffee from Miss Anthrope, who tells him to get it himself. This seems to only fuel Mr. Krupps mood as he heads to the bathroom. There at the door is Ms. Ribble, who is trying to hold back her laughter until she hears Krupp yell about having ketchup on his underwear.
Mr. Krupp heads off to find George and Harold and blames them for the new fad going around the school. Harold, who is sitting at the lunch table with George and several other members of their class, tells him they had nothing to do with it and even another speaks up for them. Unfortunately Melvin takes this moment to stick his nose and tell Mr. Krupp that they had taught the class the prank. Mr. Krupp sends the kids to the detention.
While in detention, the two boys create a new comic called "Captain Underpants and the Terrifying Tale of Tattle-Tron 2000" with Melvin as the villain character. The class loves it but not Melvin, who is angry at being portrayed by the two boys in their comic that he storms home to invent something that would make him much cooler than George and Harold. It is too bad though that Melvin's allergies (triggered by the cat). As he sets his invention on to become combined with the robot, his allergies make an unfortunate appearance adding to the transformation.
The next day, George and Harold bring Sulu to school to show their class what they have taught the hamster. It is during this moment that Melvin enters as a Bionic Booger Boy. From there hilarity ensues as the cold and flu season makes it dreadful appearance.
This was another fun read. I had been waiting for quite some time to see Melvin become the next villain of sorts. This time his need for attention and to prove that he can be cooler than George and Harold was his undoing. Instead of taking a moment to think things through, he went and created something that had dire consequences especially since his allergies were acting up. Yet, George and Harold proved once again to be the heroes that Captain Underpants should be and that is the hilarity of it all. This is still their mess and they still have to continue to keep Mr. Krupp from learning what they have done to him.
I have really come to love this series. The things these two kids do is funny as hell and there is always some moral lying underneath the rubble of each book.
The last Pilkey book we read was the disgustingly over-the-top Super Diaper Baby. Now back to the core series we found the gross out factor is destined to remain high.
In this book Harold and George, our heroes, teach their classmates a prank called "Squishies" which will have parents checking the toilet before sitting down for weeks. Their classmate Melvin Sneedly tries to show off an invention that combines two things (like a bionic robot and a hamster). Despite being smart Melvin is not a good kid and he reacts badly to his classmates being less interested in watching him yell at his hamster than trying out a prank.
Probably not the best of moves, Harold and George turn Melvin into a spoiled brat monster in one of their comics which pushes Melvin to show everyone how much cooler he is than George and Harold by turning himself into a bionic robot. Too bad Melvin has allergies and sneezes right before the combining.
Surprisingly Melvin, unlike the rest of Harold and George's victims, doesn't turn evil until he's assaulted by a tissue man on a school field trip. Then George, Harold and Captain Underpants have to defeat their grossest bad guy yet, and all during cold and flu season.
Despite what parents think, kids adore this series. It has the right combination of gross, funny and meat to it. And it does redeem itself by showing that you don't have to get straight As or always be right to be the good guy. It also pokes fun at itself and combines a subtle use of language with the subject matter which helps push middle grade reader boundaries.
I'd be surprised if libraries don't already have this series, but parents looking for books to encourage their kids to read for pleasure outside of school should definitely try this series. It's funny, gross, sometimes a little bit scary, but all in a safe way.
Melvin was insulted so he turned him self into a bionic booger boy. George and Harold were in big trouble because their nerd friend who turned into a bionic booger boy wanted to take revenge.
Melvin was so angry at them because George and Harold did crazy stuff with him. He was so he was bursting in anger. Melvin hates tissues and because of is, somehow, he grew bigger and bigger until he was dinosaur-sized. Captain Underpants was swallowed by the Melvin so Sulu was their only hero left.
Sulu had powers because he was combined by his old master (Melvin) using a Combine-O-Tron( Melvin's invention). Sulu fought the monster and saved the day. captain Underpants and Melvin are back to normal but the bionic booger boy wasn't destroyed, even though Melvin wasn't controlling it, it was alive. It now turned into a bionic booger robots. Now they were chasing our heroes!!!
Hope you can enjoy the disgusting pictures and jokes yet makes by the writer, Dav Pilkey. enjoy reading.

This is another hilarious book in the Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey. Our girls really like these books and insist on reading them independently (so I don't have the excuse that I read the book with them, but I enjoyed reading it, too!) The humor is quite juvenile and the storyline is very predictable, but we all really liked it. Our girls especially like the Flip-O-Rama pages and often argue over who gets to read the book first.
All in all, I find these stories to be very entertaining and perfect for getting reluctant readers to learn to love books. We will certainly move on to the next story very soon.
The story is about Time Changing machine George and Harold were 2 students that could save the entire world. They both made several experiments and show them to their classmates.
Captain Underpants the school principal , he can change himself to a Captain Underpants. Then at last George, Harold and Captain Underpants saved the world from the monster.

I don’t know how many books of this series I’ve read with my kids, nor how many times I’ve read each one. I believe it all started when I was teaching 1st and 2nd grades in Texas around 2000-2002. My students loved Captain Underpants and the stories got many reluctant readers to happily pick up a book. I later bought the series for my two first born kiddos (who are now 14 and 16 year olds) when they were much younger and our beat up copies have made the rounds, over the years. The books contain lots of toilet humor, but overall they are quite clever and include some high-level vocabulary for young readers. This month I’ve been reading these aloud with my 9-year-old and we’ve both laughed quite a bit!

Jangan sekali² ngerjain bocah nerdy 🤓 yg suka mengadu.
Jadi sampai disini saja saya membaca Kapten Kolor. Lumayan menghibur dan kocak buku seri ini.
This book in the series loses stars because George and Harold make fun of another kid, Melvin. Melvin is your stereotypical nerd without any friends. And while he is the school tattle tale, and gets George and Harold into trouble, he still doesn’t deserve to be teased, let alone have George and Harold write a comic book about him that the whole school reads. It’s one thing to tease an adult in a series whose whole conceit is to pit adults against children, but it’s another to make fun of a sad and lonely kid. It makes me sad for Melvin. We’ll see what happens in part two. But if you embark on this book with your kid, just know there’s some bullying. At the very least, it can be used as a teaching moment, but you could also just skip this one.
Dav Pilkey’s sixth book in the series, Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 1: The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets is an epic adventure book about two fourth-grade boys named George and Harold. Their principal, Mr. Krupp, is also Captain Underpants the main character.
Melvin Sneedly, the nerdy kid in class, turns himself into a booger robot and starts to terrorize the city. The boys snap Captain Underpants into action to fight Melvin. The fight is slow at first but the longer it lasts the more Captain Underpants dominates the fight. He eventually takes down the slimy monster. When the monster is destroyed a bunch of little boogers spawn and start to terrorize the town cueing the start of the next book.
In my opinion it was a pretty good book. It kept me entertained and interested to come back and read it. I wouldn’t recommend it to a kid my age but it would be a good book for someone a little younger.

Again, this series gradually just steps up the bonkers plot, the humor, and the self-awareness breaking the fourth wall. Teacher's pet Melvin tries to combine himself with a robot, but he is coming down with a cold accidently combining himself with his own boogers. This story was fun to read with the big (sometimes made up) words and long, alliteration sentences. The conflict wraps up, but sets up the next book (part 2) with a cliffhanger.
I did not like this book because I don't like boogers. I enjoyed this book because I like Captain Underpants books. I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Melvin's mom and dad defeated the bionic booger boy by switching the batteries around in the invention called the "Combine-o-tron 2000" (George and Harold got the idea).
This book is not ... Is not ... darn autocorrect ... IS SNOT. Boogers, phlegm, and random nasal excretions from one end to the other. Fear not, you get some poop humor, too. This is a full service satirical novel for children.
Captain Underpants the sixth epic novel by Dave Pilkey was a good book. And I would recommend this book for kids in 3rd or 4th grader because they like funny things like farts and all that and these books are good for them. I thought it was a good book because it was funny and the flip-o-ramas were funny and fun to do. After seeing ing the Captain Underpants movie hope they make one about this book too.
In the book they had a science fair kind of thing for one class and Melvin used science and made a robot animal and his pet and a machine that makes the power of the robot into his pet and George and Harold do something with ketchup packet put them under a toilet seat and the person who sits on the toilet get ketchup on their leg. George, Harold, and mr. Krup (Captain Underpants) have to save the city from a booger monster.

After the heights of the last Captain Underpants book, this one crashes back to earth. It reminds me of Book 2 in that the characters come across as mean rather than mischievous and the borderline humor crosses over and stops being funny and just becomes gross.
