What a lovely and empowering collection of meditations! I've been reading this book off and on for a while, taking one topic at a time; and it allowed me to savor each lesson and let it percolate in my heart and mind before moving on to the next one. Many of the concepts that Thoele presents here are also perfect ideas for journaling or diary entries. If you're a woman and have struggled with self-confidence for much of your life, this might help you find it again. :)
“If fear is a night child, so are faith and hope.”
Truly enjoyed this! Packed with so many gems, I felt like a lot of Thoele’s insight came just at the right time as I’m in a place where I feel led by strong intuitive grasp on my life, so felt very empowered by a lot of her pieces. The diction was digestible, making this an easy read that one could take their time with or truly fly through. Some portions were a little too heavy on the meditations and said meditations were repetitive, no lie. But there were some solid takeaways and for that I’m grateful.
“As we have the courage to open to and sincerely trust our feminine within, women and wise will become synonymous — a matched set.”
Lots of wonderful meditations to think about and build confidence in women. Looking for inspiration? A good place to start. Reads as a devotional, but don't need to do a daily read, read as you wish or need.
This is another book that I started what feels like a million years ago and finally finished while waiting on books from the library. I enjoyed this book for the most part.
Genre: Self Help The Woman’s Book of Confidence is a wonderful book to read if you lack confidence in yourself. The novel breaks down the meanings of having confidence in yourself and why it is important that you do. The author relates herself in examples in each chapter to let the reader know that she understands. I thought that the author did a great job in finding symbols to express woman, using funny story’s so the reader doesn’t feel there being lectured, and telling life lessons of others for the reader to know there’s always a way to be confident. Throughout the chapters I could relate, making me feel more comfortable and able to understand how to help increase confidence in my life with techniques that I can refer to in the book. The novel isn’t just talking about becoming confident but the many stages that help you become confident like building a friendship with yourself. That way you’ll understand what you really want and you’re not afraid to try. I think it’s a great idea to begin increasing your confidence. I have learned through this book and life that you can’t live without. Would you rather regret never trying out for volleyball because you thought you weren’t good enough, didn’t have courage or confidence, or go out there and try your best? Because trying your best is all you can do, so go out for your dreams! I recommend this book to all Girls and Women.
Lesson from this book I got this book in Hawaii, and recently I started reading it again. I have been a super perfectionist all time, but this book told me how to soften the perfectionism. Be your own Best friend I guess this is a key answer to my problem.
Why good? This book is very convincing and supportive because each lesson includes actual examples inside. We can see her experience and also real people's stories of problems in the stories. Those are pretty much coherent to our daily life.
I am sure, this book became one of my important precious.
Meditations are part of how I start each day, adding Sue’s positive voice and accumulated wisdom has been a game changer. In this volume, Sue became the grandmother I never knew I needed. Her words inspired, gave me pause, bound me up, and helped me to walk through life’s experiences with a little more calm while grounded in confidence.
An interesting take on meditations. The book relates taking care of oneself like a greenhouse. Self reliant. However, also encourages group communication and sharing with other women, for growth. Not my cup of tea.
A lot of really great ideas in this sweet and gentle book about self-care and embracing your femaleness. This is definitely a spiritual book and is best read in small doses, perhaps one or two reflections per day.
This is an undated devotional styled book--full of stories and great quotes. It's a nice reader that can be picked up to read a lot or little bit at a time.
